Chapter 2: The Insanity
This chapter is dedicated to Glorious_7 for being such a sweetheart.
....
Wu Tian looked back at the loud screeching noise but didn't get the time to react before she got knocked over and felt an over bearing pain spread all over her body. She didn't faint but felt her breath leaving her body due to the impact.
The Black Maybach rolled to a stop with the collision as the driver behind the wheel hurriedly breaked and got out of the car to examine the person lying on the ground, moaning in pain.
"Youuu, why would you.....?" The driver bellowed loudly but then abruptly stopped when he was met with a badly bruised women lying on the ground who has abruptly looked at him, scared and a little lost resembling the deer caught in the headlights a little too seriously.
The driver was about to burst at her but didn't after seeing her face as he himself felt a little pitiful looking at the eyes of the women lying on the ground, wearing tattered clothes and a guarded look in her eyes.
The look cleared when the driver apologized and explained about the blind spot in the curve of the hill that has led to him not seeing her instantly and knocking her over.
He breaked but it was still a second late.
Wu Tian only understood half of whatever he said as she was still reeling in shock and unable to utter a word as she tried to grasp the situation. She could only try to breathe hard.
"I am sorry Miss, but it's really dark and we couldn't see you. Let me help you stand up" The driver apologized and made a move to help her but she shooked her head at him, "No, no wait, just give me a second please." She gasped and tried to back up while mustering all the energy she has in her voice but felt the gut wrenching pain shooting up her arm and the side of her leg. She perspired and was almost knocked out with the intensity of the pain but managed to stay put.
It just wasn't her day.
She was already injured from what happened three days ago. She didn't even get the proper time to let her previous wounds heal before she is injured again.
She has lost her tolerance for pain and almost succumbed to her injuries. She felt tears leaking from her eyes and cascading down her cheeks but still was unable to utter a word due to the agonizing pain she felt all over her body.
It's okay, she kept telling herself but it wasn't because she was feeling the pain of everything.
Everything, that has happened over the years and all that she thought that she was being strong throughout but it was all for nothing and a big mistake in reality.
While Wu Tian's was trying to come into her senses, the driver checked her pulse before hurrying back to the backseat window as the man sitting in the back rolled down the window to hear him, who until now was silently sitting in the car, completely unbothered and unfazed by the situation.
"Sir, she is alive, but bruised badly."
The man's sharp features glinted in the night as the feeling of frost spread into the surroundings.
His cold sharp gaze took in the form of the person lying on the ground.
The man oozed dangerous aura, making the driver shudder with silent fear.
Anyone who has seen or heard about him had only one thing to say about him that he is cold, ruthless and a devil in a disguise. He who when walks into a room can stun them into silence with his presence alone.
He is the devil behind the Wei corporate chain.
He is Wei Jianglin, the president CEO of the Wei group.
The devil whose soul rests in hell with all the monsters and devils.
He, silent as a night got out of the car and made his way to the women lying on the ground.
He couldn't see her face clearly due to her hair covering her face. But he could see the multiple injuries that marked her even in the dark of the night.
"Get up!" A firm voice sounded, not loud but not ignorable also.
Wu Tian didn't realise when a dark figure loomed over her, until she heard him speaking to her, while looking down at her condescendingly.
"If you're done whining, then you can start by standing up, and finish your drama now. We don't have time for your antics."
The voice registered a second later and Wu Tian abruptly raised her head to look at the man towering over her but couldn't see the face clearly due to the overhanging streetlight which due to his height casted a shadow of him, shielding his face from her view.
"I am.. not.....", before she could say anything more she felt a single streak of something warm, liquid and wet running down the side of her neck.
Both of their gazes clashed.
"Fuck, you are..." before he could complete his sentence this time, she fainted.
And he sprinted forward to catch her before she could face plant herself in the middle of the road with a thud.
"Sir I think she has fainted due tothe shock of her injuries." The driver said.
The man didn't say anything just gave him a glare making the driver realise his stupidity at the obvious.
"I can see that you Idiot. Now open the door and put her in." The man barked at the driver.
The driver took a step forward, while the man tried to disentangle himself from the girl but she subconsciously had held his shirt a little too tightly when he broke down her fall earlier and didn't drop it when he tried to extricate himself from her grasp.
The man without breaking a sweat nodded at the driver motioning him to get in the car while he himself picked up the girl and slid in the backseat of the car while cradling the still unconscious girl against him and as gently as possible put her beside him from his lap, while her hand still clutched his shirt tightly.
The girl moaned lightly in pain when the car started moving, rocking her gently.
The women's face was barely noticeable due to dirt coating her features, hence the man looked away and motioned for the driver to move.
The driver nodded and took the next U turn, heading back into the dark of the night.
....
Wu Tian suddenly felt the cold seeping into her thin clothes more harshly and subconsciously tried to wound into the closest source of heat, which happened to be the man sitting beside her radiating heat like a furnace.
The streetlight flickered on her face for a moment. The man sitting beside her has barely glanced at her ever since they started moving, trying his best to avoid looking at her but then the unconscious girl's head had fallen on his chest due to the sharp swerve the driver has just taken while climbing down the hills.
Seeing this the man sitting beside her was startled for a second before he sighed and tried to dislodge her from himself but their was a bruise on her side from the collision before and so she moaned in pain, when he tried to move her, "it hurts", she whispered painfully as a beautiful pair of pearl shaped eyes opened and looked up at him from her position on his chest, for a second and the moment stopped right there when a sense of vulnerability crossed, before something electric passed between them and the time seemed to stop still in the moment. It was only for a few seconds before she was out again and the man stopped himself just there, afraid to move her in anyway that might hurt her more.
And so he sat there feeling awestruck by the pair of eyes that has greeted him so charmingly.
He felt too many emotions in a single moment that he didn't understand them all.
All that he knew is that his usual indifference was missing. He for the very first time in his life felt something, what—he doesn't understand. The only other emotion he understood was the silent rage that simmered in him at the sight of her injuries.
And so he sat there all stoned as the girl nestled on his chest to keep herself warm while he resisted any movement to prevent from disturbing her.
Trying to not make any extreme moves, he shrugged out of the jacket he was wearing and lightly put it on the girl sleeping soundly, who by now has found herself a comfortable position, with most of her body lying on him.
Her head has settled itself in the crook of his neck while her hand lay on his lap and her body touched his.
If he didn't know any better than he might have thought that the girl was trying to seduce him. But she is out like light courtesy to her even breathing humming in his ear.
His gaze flickered to the other hand lying on his lap, all bruised and battered and couldn't deny himself that he felt uncomfortable looking at her condition which seemed a little pitiful at the moment. The long pale fingers were smudged with mud and there was a deep gash on the back of her hand.
To distract himself, he then looked out of the window, his face betraying no further emotions but his mind churned in anger at the possible situation the girl could have been for her to be like this, getting more affected with the situation than he realised.
