The Beastmaster System: God Pet begs me to evolve

Chapter 12: Things Escalated

Kent also shared the abilities of the Golden Cat King—his claws had become incredibly sharp, and with a swift swipe, the air itself made a sharp sound.

Faced with a group of over ten attackers, Kent remained unfazed. After months of hard training, his body had grown much stronger. He was faster, more powerful, and his skills had become finely honed. This group of thugs posed no real threat to him.

A burly man grinned viciously and swung his massive hand like a fan to grab him.

Kent stepped aside, his right hand instantly seizing the man's wrist. With a quick motion, his left hand sliced, leaving four deep, bloody gashes on the man's thick arm. The man convulsed in pain, rage burning in his eyes.

"Damn it, I'll kill you!"

Before the man could finish his sentence, Kent kicked him flying.

More people charged in from all directions, trying to overwhelm Kent with a flurry of punches.

With a cold snort, Kent bent his knees slightly, then sprang into the air, jumping over seven or eight meters. He executed a backflip in midair and effortlessly escaped the encirclement.

Another cold-faced young man threw a punch, his fist gleaming like steel, resembling a hammer.

Kent sneered and threw a punch to meet his opponent's. The force was so intense that Kent's knuckles almost shattered.

However, with Garfield's overwhelming strength, Kent was more than a match for this group of thugs. With a tremendous burst of power, he sent the cold-faced youth flying two meters, crashing hard to the ground, twitching uncontrollably.

Three more thugs rushed in together—one with sharp claws, one with quick movements, and one who looked like a sumo wrestler, massive and broad-shouldered.

Kent moved forward to meet them, using his feline agility to dodge the claw attacks and a leg sweep, then countered with a fierce strike. One thug's clothing was torn open, leaving four bloody gouges, while another had his throat sliced open, blood gushing out.

Just then, the sumo-like thug wrapped his arms around Kent from behind, exerting immense force, trying to crush him to death.

"Damn it, Kent might be in real danger," some of his classmates gasped.

"Who will go help him?"

One of Kent's classmates, a girl, panicked and called the head teacher while others had already called the police when the fighting first started.

Before anyone could rush to help, Kent found a way to escape the danger.

He used his "Super Camouflage" ability, transforming into a smaller version of himself. He shrank by about a third, giving him a moment to breathe. Seizing the opportunity, he gripped the thug's wrist tightly. His sharp claws dug into the flesh, piercing through the wrist and severing the arteries. The thug immediately released him, his face full of terror.

The remaining attackers hesitated, their fear growing as they watched Kent effortlessly injure several of their comrades.

"Why are you all standing there? Attack him!" shouted Zhao Xuan, standing by. He was furious, thinking they were useless for failing to defeat one person. He almost wanted to rush in himself.

"Brother Xuan, this guy's too dangerous, and he fights dirty. It's not worth getting hurt. How about we bring out the beasts?" suggested a blonde youth.

"I don't care how you do it, just cripple this guy!" Zhao Xuan fumed, his eyes bloodshot.

On his orders, the group reformed and surrounded Kent. They whistled, and over a dozen beasts were released into the circle. There were black snakes, giant beetles the size of bowls, and vicious red ants with jagged bones...

"Ha, you sure about this?" Kent stood in the center, standing tall with the air of a martial artist.

"You cocky bastard, you'll regret this soon. We'll make you wish you were never born!" the blonde youth hissed.

The tension in the air was palpable.

They say blades and swords have no eyes, but battles involving beasts are even bloodier, more violent, and harder to control. If things go wrong, someone might end up dead.

The thugs weren't used to fighting with such ferocity. If things got too heated, they feared they might even kill someone, and that would be hard to handle.

More spectators gathered, nearly blocking the street. Several vehicles illegally parked in the middle of the road as the owners eagerly ran over to watch.

The security guards at the school entrance saw the commotion and rushed over to check it out.

As the situation escalated, Kent showed no sign of fear. If anything, he seemed to thrive in the chaos, almost relishing the spectacle.

In contrast, Zhao Xuan, the instigator, looked pale and worried, regretting how far things had gone. He couldn't fathom what the consequences might be.

"Attack!" he ordered.

A dozen thugs controlled their beasts and rushed toward Kent. The crowd gasped in amazement. The scene was so thrilling and intense that it felt like something out of a movie.

But, of course, the spectators enjoyed it immensely. "The crowd is truly unbeatable," they thought.

Kent snorted and leaped into the air, soaring over ten meters high. He grabbed a tree branch and landed smoothly on the trunk, looking down coolly.

In the center of the circle, Garfield let out a furious meow. Though Kent hadn't deactivated his Super Camouflage, Garfield, with the strength of the Golden Cat King, moved with lightning speed. The beasts in the circle were torn apart in moments—giant beetles were sliced in half, red ants were crushed, and black snakes were skinned alive... The scene quickly became gruesomely bloody.

"What the hell is this? How is he this strong?" one thug exclaimed in disbelief.

"My Blackie! What happened to him?" another screamed.

"Stop! Stop it now!" shouted one more thug, panicked.

The remaining thugs, unable to watch their beloved beasts die, broke into a cold sweat, their eyes filled with fury. But Kent was beyond mercy. He ordered Garfield to finish off all the remaining beasts.

From a distance, the sound of approaching sirens could be heard.

Boom!

Garfield threw the last wolf-like beast onto the road, its body splattered with blood, a horrifying sight.

Ugh...

At that moment, many spectators couldn't stomach it anymore. They doubled over and vomited, feeling like their breakfast had been wasted.

"You're dead, you bastard!" a thug hissed, glaring at Kent with veins bulging on his forehead.

However, the others turned their eyes toward Zhao Xuan. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't have ended up like this—losing their beasts and being arrested.

But Zhao Xuan came from a powerful family. Although they resented him, they didn't dare voice their anger, instead directing all their hatred toward Kent.

A dozen police officers, armed with rifles, arrived at the scene. They quickly took control, dispersing the crowd and questioning witnesses about the incident.

Kent and the thugs were all taken into custody, hands behind their heads as they crouched on the ground. Zhao Xuan, too, was detained after an anonymous tip-off about his involvement.

Ambulances arrived to take the injured thugs to the hospital.

"Kent, take care!" Kent's desk mate, Zhou Yun, shouted from behind the police cordon.

Kent nodded, his gaze resolute, unafraid. He had been forced to defend himself, and since he had acted in self-defense, he expected leniency.

Suddenly, he saw a familiar figure—wearing a long lotus white dress, tall and graceful, with a slender waist and a stunningly beautiful face, but her expression was cold, as if she was saying, "Don't approach me."

It was Zhao Mengxi, the school beauty from Saint Stone High, the person he had once written love letters to.

"Huh? Is she looking at me?"

Kent couldn't help but wonder. "Could it be that after seeing my magnificent display, she's developing feelings for me?"
