The Basement

Prologue: The Basement

Resertway, Valonart

I wake up.

I wait.

I eat.

I sleep.

This has been my routine making up every cycle since I first was brought to this place.

“How many cycles?” You may ask, uncountably many, so many that I have forgotten a time not spent here, forgotten even my name.

This place I am in is seemingly made of smooth hard rock, and has featureless walls.

Well that is what I think that it is like but I can’t truly know because there is a detail I forgot to mention, there is no light.

In this place I am bound to the walls at my arms and legs by shackles with long chains of steel.

Every time I get food it is brought by a creature, of man or woman, it is not but instead a creature of elsewhere, impossibly strange to be of the world.

It has three colors in its eyes, blue, green, and red. It has four eyes and five arms, but surprisingly has only two legs, contrasting to the number of other parts on it body.

After that thing drops off my food and leaves I usually eat my food then I get extremely tired and fall asleep, the food most likely having been laced with sedatives.

But today it is different because today something else is here.

It has been just staring at me from it’s corner all day long.

It has a multitude of eyes, each one having various different colors in them. And it’s body is like a black sludge, shifting as it sits there.

As I get drowsy It starts whispering things incomprehensible to a human to me, and I was glad I couldn’t comprehend their words for they surely would have traumatized me.

It starts to move over to me, slowly but surely, but by bit.

I want to run, to hide but I remember That I am shackled to the wall and I am to drowsy to move.

As it reaches me it stops and for a moment I think that I am safe, that I am in no danger until it starts climbing into my mouth.

As it crawls into my mouth and down my throat I start to lose control of myself and it takes over me.

It stands my body up and rips off my shackles off, taking off my hands and feet with them.

As it crawls with my body to the door I feel a excruciating pain and black out from the pain and damage to my body.

As I awake I notice that for the first time in forever that someone has turned on the lights, until I see the grass on the ground.

I think this must be a new addition to the place I am in until I look up and realize.

I can see the Sun.
