The Backbender (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

"Are they here?" Earth Bender asked as he looked at the mansion of the Beifong family. The other Earth Bender nodded, and they instantly took action.

"Yes. Everyone else is sleeping." The Earth Bender replied with a smirk. The Earth Benders were the ones from the underground tournament. They are here for their money.

Kanuk took it when they were looking, though he let one of the fighters see it was him. His plan involves the Benders kidnapping them and Toph for ransom from the Beifong family.

"Let's roll!" The Benders sneak inside the mansion, and once there, they try to walk to Toph's room, only to freeze as Kanuk appears in front of them.

"My, My~ Sneaking into a lady's room at night? Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?" Kanuk's teasing voice caused the benders to freeze. Before they can say or do anything, the ground under them breaks.

Boom!

The entire mansion trembled as a massive earth fist sprang up to attack the benders. Kanuk held back, of course. He needed a fight to break out between the benders and Toph.

The benders try to create an earth wall but are disappointed as it breaks easily. They jump to the side, but the floor suddenly splits to the sides, trapping them in a trench.

"Attack him!" The captain shouts as he punches the air. A boulder flies towards Kanuk, who dodges easily. The others follow the action and send boulders towards Kanuk.

Inside Toph's room, she woke up as the tremors from the fight escalated. She jumped up and went out of her room. She ran towards the fight, and along the way, she noticed Katara and the other two.

They stood there, watching the fight. Toph was confused as she sensed that the three did not plan to move. They watched the fight without worries.

"Hey! Why are they fighting here?" Toph asked with a scowl as she looked at the benders. They were the same ones who lost in the tournament against her.

"Thye came to get the money they lost from the tournament back," Katara said with a smile. Toph sneered as she stepped forward. Her foot slammed into the ground, and it shot out pebbles like bullets.

Boom!

The earth wall protecting the benders broke apart, sending them flying as the spike smashed through them. As this was going on, Kanuk dodged another attack.

"Thye are here." He turned around and noticed Toph's parents watching the fight with shock. They were looking at Toph as she was fighting. She did not even notice Kanuk was not fighting anymore.

"Nice skills you have there," Kanuk said as he landed next to Toph. She turned towards the right, and she smirked. Kanuk was confused as he was on the left.

"I am here." Toph turned around, and she shrugged with no care. She was blind, after all.

"I have an offer for you." Toph jumped up and slammed her foot into the ground, raising a wall that blocked the boulders. Kanuk looked at the benders and sighed.

"I think it's enough for now." Kanuk waved his hand and a ball of spinning air wrapped around the heads of the benders. They stopped moving instantly as the oxygen was sucked out of their bodies.

Kanuk did not kill them. He learned his lesson with the Fire Nation soldiers. If he kills them, he will go further on the path of an emotionless monster with the power of a god.

He will only kill if necessary, and from the looks of things, the fear in the eyes of those benders is enough indicator that they won't bother him again.

The Beifong family watched as the benders dropped to the ground. They ran towards Toph and started smothering her with worry and strict words about how she should not fight.

"Toph! You are blind!. What if something happened to you? I will be increasing the security around you from this day onwards!" The father said as he hugged Toph. 

Toph felt her hands clench into a fist as she looked at her parents. She hated this. She hated being looked at like she was powerless and fragile.

Boom!

The destroyed place was reconstructed as Kanuk stepped on the ground. His Earth Bending reached level 9 in a few days of training, so he was almost on the road to evolve it for the first time.

"Well, we will be going since we overstayed. Thank you for the hospitality, Miss and Mr Beifong" The Beifong couple turned towards Kanuk and nodded with gratitude as the place was fixed. 

No one would like it if their place was destroyed in a fight between two benders that could kill them. Kanuk and the team turned around and left the estate.

After the team left. Toph got back into her room and clenched her fists. She did not want to keep being shielded like a small and fragile flower. She felt the vibrations in the ground, and she immediately stood up.

She decided.

She won't stay and be like this anymore. She will go and be the teacher of that girl. That way, she would finally be free of her parent's control and finally be herself.

Toph easily sneaked out as she sensed the gang's location. They were waiting inside the forest, smiling as they watched Toph run towards them.

Toph looked down and smirked as she stopped right in front of Appa. She flashed a smirk as her voice came out.

"I heard you're looking for a teacher. I could take the role!" Toph asked as she jumped down from the Earth under her. Fei beamed as she jumped towards her.

Toph sneered as she felt the vibrations. She turned to the side and dodged Fei without trouble. She will not let this girl do what she did in the tournament again.

"Alright, Fei. Let her rest since she came all this way. Nice to meet you. My name is Kanuk, this is Katara, and this is Yue. She is your student, Fei." Kanuk introduced the team together. He was resting on the back of Appa, looking to the sky.

It was just so peaceful at the moment. Kanuk got a teacher for Fei, and he will soon reach the first evolution of Earth.

However, if you looked closer. Kanuk was never actually touching Appa's back. He was floating a mm from the fur. Using Gravity bending 24/7 to constantly gain exp.

Flying is the best way. He was not using air to fly but using an attraction force of Gravity.

Right now, the best that Kanuk can do with gravity bending is send out a push force. Or creating a force that attracts his body. Using that attracting force is the reason Kanuk can float.

Of course, it doesn't matter since his bending is focused on how strong and intense or condensed his Chi is. Even with a small amount of level in Gravity Bending, he can use the push to send ships flying.

He tried it on a small hill, and it completely destroyed it. It was like a Shinra Tensei was activated. Though smaller than the one that destroyed Konoha.

"Alright. Let's get going." Kanuk said as everyone got on Appa.

It was time to be serious. Ozai lived enough and done enough harm for the world. It's time that his retribution is near.
