Chapter 46: Azaroth 1
Seeing his sudden rewards Virgil had a look of surprise on his face. Opening his inventory saw an item that he never placed in there. A small box with engravings and glowing light on each interesting point.
"What is this thing?" Virgil asked
{I...I don't know. This is not in my database}
[It is something to help you in the future. Keep it close]
"Woah wait. Why are you just giving me an item like this and then not telling me what it does?" Virgil asked
[It will make sense soon. For now, just keep it close and never. Never lose it]
"That's it," Virgil said pissed off
Using his dagger he carved his runes into the ground and was transported to his demolished bunker.
"Tell me what the hell I'm missing. When you hide information from me I don't question it. When you waited until my death to activate I didn't question it. But now you are commanding me to not lose something saying that it will help me! Help me understand what the hell it is!" Virgil yelled at the system
[...No. You are not ready. Not Yet]
"Not ready? I'm not fucking ready for what!?" Virgil yelled punching a tree and knocking it over
{Virgil calm down} Sabastian said trying to calm down the situation
"Calm down? I'm told that I was not ready to learn something when I was preparing to fight and possibly kill a deity that existed before the Big Bang!"
{Have you ever thought that this may be information a human can't handle?}
"...What are you talking about?"
{You must know that there are languages that exist that mortal beings can't hear without dying. Maybe the info is in one of those languages. Or maybe it could kill you to know as you are}
"Then why give it to me now? Why give me something and then tell me I can't know about it?"
[To keep the host alive]
{Well shit happens. Neither of us will get any information from the system. All you can do is move on and stop worrying about something you can't change}
Hearing Sabastina's explanation Virgil took a deep breath and placed the box in his inventory. Using his runes he transported himself back to the Belmont Estate.
Walking inside Virgil suppressed his anger and made his way back to his room. As he was making his way there he was stopped by Jinwoo.
"Brother where did you go I suddenly felt you disappeared?" Jinwoo asked
"Nothing...Just had to cool my head for a second," Virgil replied putting on a fake smile
"Oh...Okay," Jinwoo said pushing aside any questions
Reaching his room Virgil walked inside to see Raven and Sam talking while drinking tea and eating sweets.
"As Lord Virgil, you have returned. Please forgive me for being here without your permission," Sam said standing up
"It's fine. Could you please leave for a moment I need to speak with Raven," Virgil said with a small smile
"At once," Sam replied with a small bow and walking out of the room
Closing the door behind Sam Virgil looked at Raven who had a sad look on her face.
"What's wrong? Did Sam do something?" Virgil asked
"N-No...Why didn't you tell me that you have been doing this stuff? Creating guns, making an army, Almost losing your life just to have a business partner what else have you hidden from me,"
"...I see seems like you and Sam had a lot to talk about. Well, the truth is yes I am doing this for you and for humanity. I wish to protect them and you from your father," Virgil said sitting across from her
"Why didn't you ask for our help? The leagues help?"
"Because they are too narrow-sided blind to the suffering that does not affect them,"
"But they can help. Why work with a military company?"
"I have my reasons. These people have experience dealing with things in the darkness. Maybe not to this level but still better than most,"
"...Okay...I won't act like I understand why you do what you do. I just want for you to tell me what you plan to do. It's my father that we are dealing with," Raven replied with a sigh
"I understand. I'm sorry I kept you out of the loop for so long. But I won't anymore. Now you ready to head to Azaroth" Virgil said standing up
"Yeah...Let's get going,"
[A/N: I know you're probably all confused, but I do the things I do for a reason. All you need is a little faith]
