Chapter 218: Banter {126}
As the domain that Yami had carefully crafted appeared all around them.
Miyuki couldn't but gaze at every detail inside this icy world.
The temperature felt just like her home planet, she almost felt at home.
Her eyes landed on a butterfly that was frozen in the air...so it was truth, everything within this place truly was this demon domain.
"Punch me" Yami demanded.
Miyuki threw an ice crystal at Yami's face but the ice crystal froze in mid-air.
"Kinetic energy in a substance is tied to the movement of its molecules. The faster molecules move, the higher the temperature and kinetic energy. Conversely, the slower they move, the lower the temperature." Yami explained
"An ice manipulator controls the state of water or similar elements by decreasing the kinetic energy of water molecules, freezing them into ice. If they expand this ability to other objects, they can lower the kinetic energy of any material's molecules."
"Essentially draining away all the power behind any blow" Yami had his trademark demonic smile on his face as he uttered those words.
"Let's get started" Miyuki added as she got into a stance.
Yami just smiled at her, a shame he couldn't rip her to shreds, he wanted to see what color her blood was.
'It's blue...dumbass'
Yami groaned internally, of course, his host had to be a sarcastic motherfucker in a moment like this.
When he gets the chance he will make him regret that.
But for now, it was back to babysitting duty.
Well, it's not like he gets to come out often, he will have as much fun as humanly possible.
He might as well let loose a little.
Time skip.
Aaron was seen dodging Ikki's strike while smacking Daiji's fist away.
He would then use Ikki's back as a stepping stool to jump before doing a sideway kick at the back of Daiji's neck, slamming his face into the floor.
Ikki was already there, he was in a position to launch a powerful punch at Aaron who by using his palm managed to escape the range of the punch by pushing off Ikki in order to gain some distance.
Daiji did a leg sweep that Aaron jumped over just in perfect position for Vice to punch him, however, Aaron managed to dodge out of the way by twisting his body in the air, barely dodging the blow.
He would then proceed to barely put any aura into his leg before kicking Vice away.
He kicked Vice next to his ears, which should disorientate him for a while.
And like that, the spar went on, a 3 vs 1 that felt like an adult beating on a newborn baby.
However they were learning the essentials and that was the good part, their coordination was getting better, and that was all that mattered at this moment.
Grabbing Ikki's fist, Aaron got close, he then proceeded to palm Ikki in the throat causing the boy to hold his throat trying to breathe as he felt like the airway was clogged.
Using this, Aaron punched Ikki in the chest, further causing more air to leave his lungs before finishing the combo off by hitting Ikki near his heart, causing the boy's body to into a full-on shock.
He would be fine, he was just knocked out for a few seconds.
Aaron looked at the body of the three people on the floor before stretching a bit.
Well, he did his job, which consisted of beating their ass over and over again until their synchronization was up to snuff.
They were siblings so he was sure they would manage well even without his help.
Aaron cracked his knuckles, glancing down at the three fallen fighters sprawled across the floor. Daiji was groaning, Ikki was still recovering from the blow that had shocked his body, and Vice...well, Vice was never out for long, but Aaron's kick had certainly rattled him.
"Not bad, The coochie potential is there," Aaron muttered, his voice devoid of any serious praise but not entirely mocking either. "You're getting there."
All he got from there were very annoyed groans, they were not in the mood to be reminded of their bloodline.
He turned away, stretching his arms above his head. His body felt warm, muscles loose from the exertion. It had been a good workout, but nothing particularly challenging. He wasn't expecting much from the three of them in terms of skill just yet. They still had a long way to go before they could give him a real fight, but at least they were improving.
As Aaron headed towards the exit of the training area, his thoughts drifted. Something was gnawing at the back of his mind. Something—or rather, someone—he hadn't seen in a while.
Sakura.
Wow, she looked...Angry/Jealous.....He couldn't tell, he was not good at reading teenage girls even if he himself was a teenage boy.
As he approached the main hall, he felt her presence. Sakura was nearby, though not close enough to be seen. Typical.
Just as he rounded a corner, there she was, sitting on a bench, pretending to read a book but not focusing on it. The moment Aaron's eyes landed on her, she stiffened, though she didn't look up.
Why did it feel so tense being around her, it felt like...it was best not to overthink it.
She was her person after all.
Aaron, in his usual fashion, couldn't help but poke the bear. "Hey, miss Invisible. Reading about how to stay mad at someone for no reason?"
Sakura's eyes flicked up for a brief second, her gaze cold and uninterested. "Why would I waste my time on something as trivial as that?"
Her voice was sharp, dismissive. But inside, her mind was screaming at herself. Why do I always talk like that? Why can't I just... be normal around him?
"Right," Aaron shrugged, clearly unfazed by her attitude. He walked closer and leaned against the wall across from her, arms folded. "You know, one day you're going to have to stop pretending like I'm the worst thing that's ever happened to you."
Well, he wasn't wrong technically if he never came her life would have been better...for like a day and then it would all go to hell. Daiji's soul would have gotten molested, Miss Invincible would have gotten rekt and the rest of the Iguarashi family would have died.
Sakura's grip on her book tightened slightly. Don't look at him. Don't let him see how much you care. It's better this way. Better to keep your distance. But deep down, she knew that Aaron wouldn't let her.
He may look like one and feel like one but he wasn't a player, her gut feeling told her so unless he was a very dedicated one.
Spending nearly a year with him, she could have a decent read on him.
She sighed and snapped her book shut. "What do you want, Aaron?"
"Nothing. Just finished beating up your brothers. Thought I'd see how you're doing."
"As if you care," she shot back, her voice a little more bitter than she intended.
Jeez, she was cold but oh well, it better stay like that for a while.
Aaron raised an eyebrow, clearly amused but not in a mocking way. "You're right, I don't care. I just enjoy making your life miserable, obviously." He flashed her a smirk, but there was something softer behind it. He wasn't about to push her any harder.
Sakura huffed, standing up abruptly. "Well, mission accomplished. Now if you'll excuse me."
Well, dam that was a complete and utter failure.....He sighed to himself a bit.
As Sakura prepared to leave, what seemed to be a blue lipstick mark could be seen on his neck...
That feeling in her had exploded 10 fold, her knuckles were now practically white.
Sakura's eyes narrowed the moment she noticed the faint blue lipstick mark on Aaron's neck. Her emotions, which she had been so meticulously keeping in check, suddenly spiked with jealousy. Her jaw clenched, and before she could stop herself, the words escaped her lips.
"Who left that?" she asked, her voice tight, barely disguising the underlying bitterness.
Aaron blinked, following her gaze to the mark on his neck. His smirk grew wider, the kind that screamed he was about to make things worse. "Oh, that? Princess was in a good mood earlier," he said, clearly referring to Miyuki, "so she decided to leave a little mark. Guess she couldn't help herself."
Sakura's fists clenched, her knuckles turning white. There was a small flare of energy in the air around her, her aura reacting to her emotions. She turned her back on him quickly, hoping to hide the turmoil on her face. But it was too late. Aaron could sense it—she was pissed, more than usual.
Was her eyes redder than usual.....probably not.
"Love Kov"
Aaron looked down to see the adorable snake plushy try to hit his leg over and over again, Wasn't that cute?
He chuckled softly. "Why? You jealous?"
Sakura froze, cursing herself internally for letting her emotions slip. She couldn't let him get away with thinking he had rattled her. She needed to cover it up, fast.
"Jealous? Of what?" she scoffed, turning back to him with an icy glare. "Please. As if I'd waste my time being jealous of you. If anything, I feel sorry for her. Poor Miyuki has terrible taste."
Aaron raised an eyebrow, not buying her act for a second. "Uh-huh. So you're not jealous at all?" His tone was teasing, it was fun teasing without the consequences.
Sakura crossed her arms defensively, heat rising to her cheeks despite her best efforts. "Tch. Like I said, I don't care what you do. If she wants to leave you stupid lipstick marks, that's her problem." She paused for a second, her voice dropping to a mutter she probably didn't intend for him to hear. "I was supposed to do that..."
Aaron's eyes widened slightly, catching the tail end of her muttered words. He looked quite curious, what was she trying to do now? "What was that? You were supposed to do what now?"
Sakura's face immediately flushed, realizing what she had let slip. Her heart pounded in her chest as she tried to backpedal, panic giving way to anger. "I didn't say anything, you idiot! You must be hearing things. Maybe that lipstick mark's blocking blood flow to your brain."
Aaron couldn't help but laugh, enjoying her flustered state more than he probably should. "Sure, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night, Miss Invincible."
Sakura shot him one last glare, her face burning. "Go to hell, Aaron."
Wasn't she just precious?
A/N.
