The Ancient Revelation: Rewrite

Before Akio could finish his sentence, let alone react, the soldier behind him was killed just seconds after he sensed that twisted energy. Akio looks at Achilles, whose hand is outstretched, but.. he doesn't look like he knows what happened.

"So.. fast..."

In that moment, Achilles collapses fully. The sum of his injuries and his uncanny movements were too much for him to handle. Meanwhile, Akio is trying to decipher Achilles' powers.

"Wait. Is he holding himself back unconsciously..?"

Akio takes Achilles to a place where he can't be seen, as he joins the battle. Instead of grouping up with the other Generals, though, he helps the scouts instead.

Three scouts are fighting six undead soldiers. However.. they're tired and injured, and the undead have regenerated. As they're about to give up, though...

Suddenly, two pillars of flame appear from the ground, albeit weak. The undead are caught in them, as Akio lands in front of the scouts.

"Are you guys alright?"

- "Commander..."

- "Stay back. They've become more powerful than when you first encountered them. Let me handle this."

The three scouts nod, as they fall back, allowing Akio to fight the six undead at full power.

"Come at me!"

As the undead lunge from the disappearing pillars of flames, Akio runs towards them. Beginning the fight, Akio throws two fireballs at the outermost soldiers, jump kicking the left soldier from the center, as he plants his hands in the ground, flipping back to kick two other undead.

Apparently, entering that state and fighting Genkei at his full power gave Akio some boost in power, seeing as now he's a bit stronger and faster than before. Akio does realize this fact, as he punches one soldier in the gut, sending him far away.

Before the other undead can catch him, Akio pins that one singular soldier down, preparing a mouth blast. The soldier prepares his own explosion, but Akio notices it quickly enough to envelop it in a small barrier, minimizing the impact just enough for the General to release his mouth blast.

As the grass is scorched, the undead's head is massively destroyed but it's not enough. Preparing the finishing blow, Akio envelops his right fist in fire magic.. as he's kicked in the back by an undead.

Akio wasn't fast enough. The undead caught up to him. He wasn't able to sense them since he was focusing on this singular one, but no matter. The General simply laughs. Charging up energy, Akio envelops himself in fire magic; he uses the "domain" technique he had used against Genkei, one that the latter told him not to.

"Sorry, Genkei. Looks like I'll have to use it again after all."

Charging back into the battle, Akio focuses on the soldier whom he had nearly killed. It looks like his head is starting to regenerate, but Akio refuses to allow it. Releasing a powerful fireball aimed directly at his head, Akio has it explode on contact.. and it works.

The other undead are knocked back, as that one dies. One down, five to go. Akio runs towards the others before sliding down, grabbing one by the leg and blasting his back, knocking him upwards and simultaneously ripping his leg off.

Akio jumps up to meet the soldier in mid-air, barraging the latter with fire magic-infused punches which scorch the entirety of his body. Finally, Akio delivers the finishing blow, killing the soldier at once.

Suddenly, a blast is shot from behind him by one soldier. Just as it was about to kill Akio, though, he manages to dodge it. Using the aura enveloping him, Akio sensed the blast immediately as soon as it entered his "domain", dodging it. After all, albeit powerful, these blasts aren't fast or anything.

Launching himself towards the ground, Akio causes a small explosion, injuring everything and everyone nearby. Immediately after, Akio focuses on another soldier, as the others regain their footing, attempting to attack him from behind.

As soon as one soldier touches Akio's aura, the General turns to him, locking him in and headbutting him before punching him below the jaw, ripping his head off and throwing it in the air.

Without missing a beat, Akio throws another fireball at that head, destroying it fully, as he falls down again to trip all the soldiers. With a blast to the ground. Akio knocks them all down as he jumps up, trying to decide who to focus on next.

Akio sees the soldier he had focused on prior, and decides to go for him. With a barrage of fireballs, the General keeps the other two away as he lands to the third one, killing him swiftly. Now.. two are left.

Meanwhile, the three scouts are impressed at Akio's capabilities. They also witnessed Achilles' full power being displayed.. and they feel a bit weak. That is to be expected, but such a gap is something that they weren't really able to fathom.

Back to the fight, Akio knocks one of the soldiers far away as he focuses on the other one. Akio rips all of his limbs apart, as he burns his torso, before focusing on the head.

Now, in the heat of battle, Akio is.. losing himself.

Seeing the commanders face in this undead soldier, Akio begins torturing the body more and more. Tearing his eyeballs one by one, destroying his nose, ripping his jaw apart...

In the end, Akio screams out, remembering the demonic laugh he had heard from him. With one final fireball which burns completely everything around, to the point when even Akio himself is injured, the soldier dies.

Akio gets up, breathing heavily. From his left comes the sixth soldier, as he regains his sense of self, preparing to fight him. Creating a fireball in his right hand, Akio is ready to release it, but he suddenly falls to his knees. He drew out the fight for too long. Akio has ran out of energy...

The fireball is released from his hand, flying into the distance before exploding. The soldier lunges at Akio, taking the opportunity before punching him directly in the head, throwing him backwards. The force causes Akio to break a few trees, as the pain accumulates.

In the end, Akio does hit a tree which won't break, as leaves fall on his head. He spits blood, as the soldier reaches him, barraging him with punches. Akio screams out in pain, but the torture won't end.

The soldier continues his attack on the defenseless Akio, who continues to whimper. There's nothing that can be done. Meanwhile, Genkei finally senses Akio's energy signature, which is fading rapidly.

Now.. the undead sends Akio flying away. The latter looks to his right, seeing Achilles' unconscious body. Akio tries to stand up, seeing the scouts far away in the distance, running to help him.. but they won't be of any help.

Akio tries to move, but his feet have given up. He can barely even breathe. Just when he feels he's about to die, though...

Suddenly, Akio's muscles bulge, as veins pop throughout his body. His sclerae turn orange, and his pupils white. In the brink of death, the increased release of both adrenaline and noradrenaline caused Akio to enter his enhanced state.. as his pupils disappear.
