Chapter 843 Into The Cemetery
Chapter 843 Into The Cemetery
'Yes, there is a reason that I have kept this Cemetery hidden for so long until today..' The voice said with a sigh.Max kept his calm upon hearing that. By now, he was already expecting to hear something like that.
'There is a creature trapped in the last level of the Cemetery here. And, it has been gaining more and more power with the passage of time. I hid the Ancient Cemetery from people because there is no one capable of entering the Cemetery in its presence.'
'If the situation is so severe, I doubt I would be much of a help. I am definitely nowhere close enough to deal with this creature..' Max politely replied. He knew that even if the old man was just a piece of consciousness, it still had strength which was hard to fathom. If such a person couldn't kill that thing, there was no way he would be able to do anything too.
'Don't worry, I won't have you come here if you didn't have the ability to help me here. You are already an awakened individual, and I see you are one of the descendants of our race. Not to mention, you have succeeded Hephaestus's trail, receiving his blessings. This is more than enough for my consciousness to possess you.'
'As long as you allow me to possess you for a little while, I can release my peak power, and deal with the dragon. With that not only the threat will be gone, but we will be able to open up the cemetery for everyone too..' The voice explained to him.
Max frowned a little.
It sure sounded all good. But, he really didn't feel nice about this proposal. He didn't want to leave his body in someone else's control when he very well had the opportunity to die here. If it could be a death fight, then he sure wanted to fight it with his own two hands rather than leaving it to someone else.
'What's wrong? We don't have much time to consider..'
Max's expression changed a little upon hearing that and he couldn't help but ask, 'Why is that so, Senior?'
'I allowed the Cemetery to surface because of your arrival. And, you already heard that roar from earlier. It will be bad for this spatial pouch if that thing starts a havoc again..'
Max's frown deepened on hearing that. It seemed like he didn't have a choice here.
'I don't feel good about this…'
Before Max could do anything, Andriel's voice rang in his mind.
'What do you mean?' Max asked as he maintained a calm look on his face.
'Possessing one through consciousness. Is not a good thing. It can be considered to be one of a very high level techniques even in our succubus clan. But, it's usually not allowed to be performed so casually. It can only be performed between two people with utmost trust.'
'Is there any particular reason for it?' Max couldn't help but inquire about it.
'Yes, it's the same as giving yourself up to be at the person's mercy..' Andriel spoke in a serious tone.
'Well, that sure doesn't sound good…' Max began to ponder about it more seriously than before.
'What's wrong kid? Are you scared now?' The voice asked with a laugh.
'I was just wondering if there was any other way to do it, Senior..' Max replied to the old man.
'If there was, I wouldn't have waited so long for you. Besides, I know I am forcing you in danger. But, think about it. Opportunity only comes for those who dare to take the risks.'
'Not to mention, the peaceful times sure wouldn't last. If you don't take the risks now to become capable, the future would be rough for you..' The voice further added giving a piece of advice to the young budding generation.
"What's going on?" Blinken, who was standing beside Max obviously noticed his weird actions.
"Give me a second, I think I will find a way soon..' Max smiled as he stared at Blinken, and put his hand onto his shoulder.
But, in that second, Blinken felt a strong grip on shoulder from Max. It seemed very obvious that Max had done it with the intention to cause pain.
This action was surely strange, but Max's smile at that particular moment made Blinken get some idea of the situation. It definitely meant that something wasn't right here. As for what it was, he didn't know. But, one thing was clear: act normal, but stay alert.
'You think he is an enemy?' Andriel asked, having noticed Max's action.
'I don't know. But, I don't like how he is trying to lure me in there. It wasn't like this last time..' Max had already become conscious hearing Andriel's words, and it might be because of that he began to notice other things.
There was no guarantee that he wasn't overthinking, and was wrong about this matter. But, what if he wasn't?
Life was not something that easy to play with..
'I have come to a decision, Senior. I will help you out..' Max took a deep breath and finally sent a message out.
'Hahaha!! Good! Very Good! I didn't misjudge you kid!' The voice let out a heartily laughter as it praised Max for it.
'You know what you are doing, right?' Andriel couldn't help but ask Max with a worried tone.
'Don't worry, I perfectly do..' Max replied with a calm tone while the voice once again spoke to him.
'Good then, I will open the gates. Come in with your friend..' T
With that, the humongous gate began to let out creaking noise as it began to slowly open up.
The doors of the gate sliding seemed to trigger a supernatural phenomenon, and in a second, the weather above the peak changed drastically.
Thunderbolts fell from the sky all around as if doomsday had literally arrived. The gales were so fierce that it literally began to break the edges of the mountain sending rocks tumbling down.
Max calmly turned his head, and looked at Blinken with serious look in his eyes.
Blinken didn't need much to understand what it meant here. But, he sure realized that it was about to begin. And, there would probably be no turning around here.
If he wanted to run, this was the time..
'So, this is what being looked down feels like? No wonder people hate me....hahaha..' Blinken laughed internally before looking at Max and letting out wide and fearless smile. 'Bring it on!'
