The Almighty Diva: Reborn to be Worshipped

Chapter 10: Unworthy to Call You Leader

At noon, Ji Chuxing and Zhao Feifei went out together.

Zhao Feifei had cracked her phone screen in the morning, and by noon, it had completely died on her. She was visibly frustrated, skipping lunch to get her phone fixed as soon as school let out. After visiting four repair shops, none of them could fix it. Her frustration boiled over, and she transformed from a vibrant, energetic person into a dejected one, like a deflated balloon.

Ji Chuxing followed her, savoring a milk tea she had just discovered. It was sweet with a variety of flavors, and she planned to buy another one after finishing this one. This planet truly had so many strange and delicious desserts. The food she used to eat, made in the lab, lacked soul. However, the milk tea was quite expensive, costing eighteen yuan per cup! Eighteen yuan! How many dimes would she need to earn to make that back?

Feeling disheartened, Zhao Feifei said, "Boss, it's too hot outside. Why don't you go back? I'll ask around some more, and I might skip the afternoon classes."

The phone was very important to Zhao Feifei. It was given to her by her mother before she passed away, and she had been using it for years. It was a unique model, not available in the market, and she cherished it dearly. Today, it was damaged, and she felt heartbroken.

Ji Chuxing took another sip of her milk tea and pointed to a small, unassuming repair shop across the street. "Let's try there."

Zhao Feifei: "…"

It was scorching hot, and she really didn't feel like going, especially since it was just a small stall with limited tools. But since they were already here, and it was Ji Chuxing's suggestion, Zhao Feifei trudged over with a drooping head.

As expected, the repair guy took one look at Zhao Feifei's phone and waved his hand dismissively. "We don't have the right tools to open it."

Zhao Feifei's face fell even further.

Ji Chuxing finished her last sip of milk tea, tossed the empty cup into a nearby trash bin, and lifted her chin, saying to the repair guy, "Lend me your tools."

Repair guy: "?"

Zhao Feifei: "??"

"Give it to me," Ji Chuxing held out her hand for the phone.

Zhao Feifei, without much thought, handed it over as if her hand had a mind of its own.

Five minutes later, Ji Chuxing put down the tools, pressed the power button, and the familiar startup sound and screen appeared. Zhao Feifei was almost in tears, moved beyond words.

She was still in a daze. She didn't understand how Ji Chuxing managed to open the phone, what she did to the internal structure, or how she restored it to its original state. In fact, it seemed to be working even better now!

Zhao Feifei couldn't comprehend it, but she knew it was impressive—she felt awestruck without fully understanding.

"Boss, starting today, you're not my boss anymore!"

Ji Chuxing: "Hmm?"

"You're a god! I'm not worthy to call you boss. From today, you're Goddess Ji!"

Ji Chuxing: "…" That wasn't necessary, but… it sounded cool!

The repair guy was also confused. He had fixed thousands of phones, and what Ji Chuxing did was more than just repairing; she modified the core components using his tools. But… how could a young girl do that? And with such basic tools?

The guy shook his head, thinking he must have imagined it, and praised, "You've got good skills, young lady."

Ji Chuxing mumbled, "Not bad."

If she had the right tools, she could have made a new one for Zhao Feifei. "As long as you don't smash it, it can handle water and drops without any issues."

Zhao Feifei's eyes filled with even more admiration.

The guy laughed, "Don't make such grand claims. No phone in the world can do that."

Zhao Feifei, indignant, snapped, "Goddess Ji says it can, so it can!"

Guy: "…"

Fine, you're pretty, so whatever you say goes.

Ji Chuxing patted Zhao Feifei's shoulder to calm her down.

However…

This phone was quite special. It reminded her of a prototype from her lab, a flawed yet promising one.

"Where did you get this phone?" Ji Chuxing asked.

Still basking in her joy, Zhao Feifei answered, "Goddess Ji, do you want one too? It might be impossible. My mom brought it back when I was around ten. They say it's the only one in the world, a prototype invented by a friend. I found it very useful, especially for gaming."

Initially, she had disliked it because it was a prototype, but she quickly changed her mind. Even Lu Xing, who had been eyeing it for a long time, never got to touch it.

Ji Chuxing responded, "Oh."

She was quite intrigued. It seemed there were places in the world with inventions and technological levels that were more advanced than commonly known.

They returned to school in the afternoon, having skipped two classes. Skipping classes was common in Class 16, and teachers usually didn't say anything. Most students were either rich or powerful, and the rest might be "my dad told me he was rich when I turned eighteen" types. Only Mr. Huang, their teacher, cared about these students.

When Zhao Feifei and Ji Chuxing returned, the classroom was as noisy as a market. Wu Hao, who was about to rush out with a basketball, stopped abruptly. "Boss, Mr. Huang was looking for you."

Just then, Mr. Huang, with his round belly, hurried in. "Ms. Ji, come to my office. Your mother is here!"

Ji Chuxing paused: "Understood."
