Chapter 146 - A Choice
He continued to laugh right in my face, smirking through the pain he had accumulated.
"You should kill me. I won't tell you anything else. It's not like you will let me live, right?"
I already knew that he had given up on his life. However, I still wanted him to desperately hold onto it, just like most people would. Nevertheless, I didn't give up just yet as he uttered those words. There was still one thing I wanted to do with him, or should I say, with the limbs remaining on his body.
"Is that so? You won't tell me anything else?" I smirked, knowing that he was telling the truth because of my skill. He wouldn't say anything else. "Then, let's go and have a little reunion with all of your slaves. After all, there's no reason I should be the one to kill you. They should have the honor."
With that said, I grabbed the half-body that Zero was and walked toward the Icy Lake, jumping inside it until I reached the entrance of his subspace.
However, as I tried to open the door leading to it, I could not. It seemed to be a defense mechanism that made it impossible for strangers to open it.
"Open the door," I said, my voice cold and steady.
He didn't move. So, I grabbed hold of his last arm and forced him to grab the doorknob. The entrance was underwater, but it wasn't in a steep part, making it easier to access.
Within a few seconds, I managed to make him forcefully turn the doorknob, and we now had access to his subspace.
With absolutely no hesitation, I walked through the door leading to his subspace. And then, I arrived inside Zero's home, and the first thing that caught my eye was the slaves standing in a single file facing us, barely clothed.
Their breasts and their most private parts were all revealed. They were all top beauties, but I did not even glance at their bodies. Instead, I looked at the expression on their faces.
They were all scared for their lives. None of them were doing this out of their own volition, obviously. I did not know a single girl who would do such a thing on her own. However, as I walked forward while holding Zero without his mask, they all glared at me with a frown, since they had no idea who I was.
Still, none of them spoke, only glaring at my every movement.
As I stepped in their direction, I caught a glance into Zero's bedroom, where I saw a girl… in the worst shape of them all. I had no idea what Zero had done to her, but she was bleeding from her… ass. Most likely from hits that Zero had given recently.
What an absolutely disgusting human being.
I shook my head out of pure disappointment. It was disgusting. This whole sight was disgusting.
I was happy that I had made the right decision. If they were to kill Zero, then they would at least get something resembling closure. As I walked around Zero's house with my mouth shut, his slaves all stared at me, clearly worried that something might happen to them.
"Zero, break all their slave contracts," I suddenly uttered as I threw Zero's half-dead body on the ground.
All their eyes widened as I uttered those words, as I uttered the name
Zero
. Most of them clearly couldn't believe that this was the state of their powerful master. It made little to no sense. However, even then, they kept their mouths shut. Not a single noise came out of their mouths, and they didn't move an inch, which was even stranger.
"Why would I break their slave contracts?" He smirked once more in my direction.
"It's your choice. Either they kill you or I do." My voice was absolutely cold, sending shivers down his spine.
Without even saying anything, I felt energy swirling around the room, around each of the slaves he had. One after another, I felt their connection to Zero disappearing. He had made his choice, and it seemed he was a lot more afraid of what I could do to him compared to them. And I must say, he made the right decision—I had some good torturing techniques that I would have practiced on him.
Instantly, all the girls before me moved and breathed normally, as if a huge weight had been lifted off their shoulders. It seemed he had given them some kind of order to stay in those clothes, silent, without moving a single inch.
A look of relief appeared on their faces right away as they looked at me with clear gratitude, yet doubt. After all, they did not know me. They had no idea what I would do now that I had defeated Zero. It was only normal for them to be wary.
"I-Is that really Zero?" one of the most courageous asked, her voice shaking with every word.
The trauma was deep, and it would likely never go away, no matter what I tried to do.
"It is," I confirmed.
Murmurs then filled the room, with smiles appearing on each of their faces. Then, within a few moments, the murmurs stopped.
"C-Can we know your name and who you are, sir?" the same girl as before asked. She seemed to be their spokesperson.
"My name is Caedrel Stuart, a professor at the Royal Academy. I was out on a little trip with my students when I randomly stumbled upon this man. Well, I don't know if he can be called a man, but I stumbled upon him and gave him a good beating."
Of course, I lied about what had truly happened. However, they did not need to know about such things.
"A… professor managed to beat our master?" the girl frowned, as she simply could not make sense of the situation.
"Well, you could say that I'm a little special compared to normal professors," I said with a bright smirk.
