Chapter 16: In the Name Of Being A Town
There were six different barns surrounding the four houses, which Luke thought would hold more than four hundred cows.
In addition, three barns would be used for chickens for egg production.
Not only that, but four more barns would be built to house pigs, and each of the 12 barns on the farm would be filled to capacity.
Luke had opened the shop panel directly and proceeded to the live animals section at the bottom of the panel based on his previous research.
Under normal circumstances, eating monster meat was more common throughout the empire and even the entire world, so livestock farming was not considered a particularly normal activity. It could also not be said to be valuable. Nevertheless, Luke wanted to properly establish this animal farm in case of any eventuality.
At the bottom of the shop panel, he had seen a type of cow labelled 'Hanwoo.' While other cows were sold for five or six silver coins, this particular type of cow was sold for two gold coins.
Luke, naturally curious, had purchased one Hanwoo cow.
After the animal farm was established, the milk and later the meat of this animal were tested, and according to Callum, it was even more delicious than dragon meat.
When someone like Callum said it, its authenticity was certain.
Just one day later, Luke had purchased a total of 410 Hanwoo cows and managed to fill six barns with the 820 gold coins he had paid on the shop panel.
With the purchase of various pigs and chickens, the farm was fully completed, and four families from the village were assigned to oversee the land around the farm.
The members of these families, namely the strong women, had already been involved in livestock farming before, when the village was not yet in such a terrible state. So, it would not be wrong to say that after a short adjustment period, they would be able to handle everything without any issues.
After finishing this task, the first thing Luke did was to plant the Sun Tree root that Callum had collected in a place he thought would be safe.
For this, a major snow cleanup was first carried out, and then Luke used the shop panel to fully inventory the mansion he had built, observing it through the shop panel.
This mansion covered an area of exactly five thousand square metres and was truly enormous.
Even if it wasn't the largest structure available in the shop panel, it was certainly one of the largest.
The mansion featured a grand hall, exactly 64 bedrooms, a special chapel dedicated to the Goddess of the Night, a study for Luke to work and relax in, 32 rooms for servants, 6 kitchens, a library as large as an imperial library filled with books, and 32 guest rooms.
The mansion, or as it was commonly known, the 'Duchy House,' was surrounded by walls made of high mithril and white stone, with watchtowers around it. Inside, there was a forge, an armoury, several stables and barns, a garden full of flowers, a fish pond, and three training areas for knights.
This alone explained why it covered an area of exactly five thousand square metres.
Since the village boundaries were extremely large, the walls could be expanded later, but this did not change the fact that the manor occupied a very large area.
Immediately after purchasing the manor's blueprint, he had ordered Kevin to issue a command for all villagers to stay away from the area and wait.
Immediately afterwards, he moved towards the area that Kevin and Theodas had cleaned and checked, and used the sketch.
Using the sketch map had caused his head to spin in an incredible way. Although he had become very skilled at using his gift, it had worn him out greatly over the past one and a half months.
He slept only two hours a day, constantly thinking and planning how to expand and secure the village. The number of sketches he drew and the future plans he made were countless.
Nevertheless, he had managed to prepare the mansion's vast estate, despite his dizziness, and had successfully placed the estate, which covered an incredible four-storey-wide area, directly at the edge of the village, in a region not too close to the wall but still not too far away.
Kevin, Theodas, and everyone else watching from afar, including the elves, stared in awe at what Luke had accomplished.
Their astonishment was naturally sky-high.
Luke had purchased this mansion for exactly 10,000 gold pieces. If he had tried to have architects and engineers do it, he would have had to spend hundreds of thousands of gold coins, but the fact that it was happening now was truly incredible.
After everything was done, he entered the mansion and, passing through the back door that led to the vast garden, placed the Sun Tree root he had received from Callum directly in the centre of the garden.
The Sun Tree mystically extended its roots into the soil beneath the snow, as if sensing the earth, and immediately a sapling sprouted from the tip of the root, growing from the centre of the log structure.
The Sun Tree had already begun to grow mystically.
Luke smiled at this and then, feeling dizzy, fell onto his backside and began watching the heavy snowfall.
Lying on the ground, even though the cold snow was chilling his body, he continued to smile with the joy of having been able to bring his life back.
The time had come to move forward with the next phase of his plan: building greenhouses for growing vegetables and fruits and constructing the farm.
After a five-minute break, Luke stood up and said, 'Alright, let's do this,' then walked out the door leading to the garden and ordered Kevin, 'Get ready, we're moving on to the next phase of the plan.'
Both Kevin and Theodas nodded immediately. While Theodas left the area to give orders to the elves, Kevin began moving toward the area Luke had marked on the map, accompanied by the young elf boy Cain.
Almost everything was in place for the village to be established.
