The 100th Regression of the Max-Level Player

Chapter 260: It's Time to Tell You (2)

‘I’ll finish this before that happens.’

Having no other choice, Ryu Min decided to use more of his power.

‘Amplify.’

The rune of lightning granted him the ability to double both his attack and movement speed.

In an instant, Ryu Min vanished.

[Huh?!]

Gabriel gasped, startled, and instinctively tried to react. But it was too late. By the time he made a move, Ryu Min’s scythe had already sliced through his lower body.

Screech—!

The cleanly severed lower half of Gabriel’s body fell to the ground, golden blood pouring out in torrents and pooling beneath him.

“Khhh…!”

Gabriel’s face twisted in anguish, his expression crumpled like a piece of paper.

How long had it been since he had last felt such excruciating pain? Not since the Celestial-Demonic War had he experienced agony like this.

“Looks good on you.”

Ryu Min sneered, offering a curt, mocking evaluation of Gabriel’s condition.

Gabriel’s body was a pitiful sight—his upper and lower halves separated, golden blood gushing out. But Ryu Min knew better than to let his guard down.

‘He can’t die yet. Not until he uses his Blessing.’

Ryu Min had a plan: first, ensure his sibling’s safety, then equip the Helmet of Thanatos to finish off both angels once and for all.

He glanced back at his younger sibling.

“Let’s go, Ryu Won.”

Ryu Won, still trembling, hesitantly stepped out of the ruined room. He avoided looking at the chaotic scene in the living room, where Gabriel lay incapacitated. Instead, he focused on following Ryu Min.

But just as they were about to leave through the front door—

Flutter—

Through the shattered window, another angel descended.

It was Raphael.

Gabriel, still lying on the floor, managed a weak, relieved smile at the sight of his ally.

“R-Raphael…”

“Gabriel!”

Without wasting a moment, Raphael chanted a Restoration Spell.

Immediately, Gabriel’s upper and lower halves reattached seamlessly.

“Tsk, I’ve lost too much blood. I feel lightheaded.”

“Are you all right?”

“What about you?”

“I’ve restored a bit of my mana, but not all of it. At this point, I can barely defend against one or two more strikes.”

Gabriel groaned and glanced toward the front door, where Ryu Min and his sibling had already disappeared.

“What should we do?”

“What else? We chase them.”

“But can we really handle him on our own?”

“We have no choice. We can’t return empty-handed.”

Gabriel’s gaze darkened as he recalled their recent exchange.

Ryu Min could’ve finished him off but didn’t. That alone had revealed his weakness.

‘His sibling is his Achilles’ heel. If we target the younger one, the Black Scythe will inevitably expose openings.’

With Raphael still at his side and their strategy now clear, Gabriel was confident they could turn the tide of battle.

“Let’s move.”

“Yes, sir.”

*

There was no time to take the elevator.

Ryu Min and Ryu Won sprinted down the corridor, putting as much distance as possible between themselves and the angels.

“This way.”

Ryu Min gestured as he led the way.

Panting and running frantically, Ryu Won suddenly realized where they were headed.

“W-Wait! This is a dead end!”

The hallway ended at a large window with nowhere else to go.

But Ryu Min’s voice remained calm.

“Who said there’s no way out?”

Crash—!

Using his scythe, Ryu Min shattered the window. The sharp sound of breaking glass filled the air, followed by the rush of wind from outside.

“W-What are you doing?! That’s insane! We’re on the 43rd floor!”

Ryu Won’s voice trembled as his fear reached its peak. But Ryu Min remained unfazed.

“There’s no reason to be scared. I’m not planning on dying just yet.”

“W-What do you mean…?”

“Just hold on tight. No time to explain.”

Without further warning, Ryu Min grabbed Ryu Won.

“Wait, what are you— Aaaahhhh!”

Ryu Min leapt through the shattered window.

For a brief moment, it felt like they were plummeting toward certain death.

But then—

Flutter—

Black wings unfurled from Ryu Min’s back, stabilizing their descent.

Ryu Won, now clutching Ryu Min tightly, let out a sigh of relief.

“Phew… I thought we were going to die…”

From behind, Ryu Won’s trembling voice reached Ryu Min’s ears.

However, Ryu Min wasn’t as relaxed.

‘We’ve escaped for now, but the angels might still be able to track us.’

If Raphael had healed Gabriel and set out in pursuit, they wouldn’t have much time.

‘On the other hand, if they’ve lost track of us and decided to wait back at the apartment… that would be ideal.’

The best plan would be to get Ryu Won to safety, then return to deal with the angels.

But his thoughts didn’t last long.

“W-We’re being followed! The angels are catching up!”

Ryu Won’s panicked voice confirmed Ryu Min’s worst fears.

‘So they can track us, huh?’

Ryu Min sighed. It seemed there was no other option.

He would have to fight while protecting his sibling.

‘Not here, though. I can’t risk innocent civilians getting caught up in the fight.’

He adjusted their trajectory, heading away from the city center.

But the angels were faster than expected.

As Ryu Min glanced back, Ryu Won’s voice rang out in alarm.

“T-They’re almost here! They’re right above us!”

“I know.”

Ryu Min’s response was short, but his actions were decisive.

He suddenly dropped altitude, bringing them closer to the ground.

‘Before I can deal with them, I need to buy some time to talk to my sibling.’

Once they landed, the angels were right overhead.

“They’re here!”

“I told you, just hold on tight.”

Ryu Min scanned the area ahead, making sure there were no obstacles.

He activated another rune.

‘Light Speed.’

In an instant, a burst of light propelled them forward, covering 2 kilometers in the blink of an eye.

The angels, caught off guard by the sudden acceleration, were left behind—at least for now.

“W-What was that? Did we just teleport? How did you do that?”

Ryu Won stammered in disbelief.

“That’s not important right now. What matters is that the angels are still chasing us. They won’t stop until we’re dead.”

“Then… what do we do?”

“What else? We kill them.”

Ryu Min’s words were confident, but Ryu Won hesitated, his face filled with doubt.

Seeing this, Ryu Min chuckled softly.

“You’re probably wondering why I didn’t kill them earlier if I could. Right?”

“…Yes.”

“Don’t worry. What you saw back there? That wasn’t even half of my strength.”

“Can… can you really win?”

“Of course. But to do that…”

Ryu Min paused, removing his mask.

The Assassin’s Mask he had been wearing vanished, revealing his true face.

“I need to show you something first. It’s about time you knew.”

“Huh?”

Ryu Won’s confusion quickly turned to shock.

As Ryu Min’s body began to change, his sibling could only stare in disbelief.

His height shrank, his tanned skin turned pale, and his muscular frame became lean and slender.

Finally, his face took on a familiar appearance.

“Hyung…?”
