That Time I Got Reincarnated to a Demon Slayer

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: In the Spirit Park

Both demons part ways after their encounter. Akumu goes back home to his wife and kids and the alcoholic demon goes back to Takeshi and Zenjiro. Takeshi and Zenjiro know that a demon will be out to get them soon. So they make a plan on how to kill the demon without getting injured and where the fight will take place. They do not want to harm or bring any more fear to the citizens of Yoruichi.

"So if we know for certain that the demon we saw is going to attack us. Where would we do it? We can't risk any people getting killed, eaten or even harmed. We will be in trouble!" Zenjiro asks while slurping on his noodles, he had gotten a good discount after using his demon slayer status.

"Hmm, I'm not sure where we should do it. I've never been to this place before, it's my first time. You should have a brief idea of where the quietest place is, don't you?" Takeshi replied back, eating his expensive noodles.

"Zenjiro? Zenjiro?! ZENJIRO!" Takeshi shouts putting his noodles down. By the counter, Zenjiro was trying to get away with another bowl of noodles, but this time for free.

"HEY I HAVE TO GO KILL A DEMON SO YOU DON'T GET KI-"

Zenjiro felt a tugging sensation, he looked behind slowly, carefully, and it was Takeshi. "Oh- hel- hello Takeshi. Wha-What were you saying?" Takeshi's face was full of rage and embarrassment. Two knuckles smashed off of Zenjiro's head as he tried to go back to eating.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING ZENJIRO?" Takeshi yelled. "DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID?"

"YES! AND I'M EATING. I'M TRYING TO GET MORE!" Zenjiro argued back, his gaze returning back to the waiter.

"Sorry for the disturbance." Takeshi bowed apologetically and dragged Zenjiro back to where they sat to eat. "Why did you do that for? I'm hungry!" Zenjiro whined like a baby.

"Here take mine. Now did you hear what I said?" Takeshi said.

"Mhm, you said that you didn't know this place." Zenjiro replied, Takeshi's noodles stuffed in his face. "Yeah ha and did you hear what I said after that?" "Nope!"

Takeshi slaps his forehead. This idiot is so concentrated on eating. How am I supposed to plan out how to kill the demon if this imbecile keeps eating! Takeshi grumbled to himself, annoyed by Zenjiro's actions.

"I said-"

"MORE PLEASE!" Zenjiro jumps up licking the broth off his lips.

"That's ENOUGH!" Takeshi slams cash down on the table, grabs Zenjiro's hand and dashes out the doors of the restaurant.

"Can you listen, please! You aren't taking this seriously Zenjiro!" Takeshi shakes Zenjiro as if he were trying to snap him out of something.

"I am!"

"Douchebag you literally interrupted me!" Takeshi pushes Zenjiro.

"Well, you don't need to push you know!" Zenjiro argues.

"You know what. We aren't going to get anywhere by arguing. We have one hour left until dusk." Takeshi tried to reason.

"You're the one who started it!" Zenjiro huffs and crosses his arms.

I guess it has to be me to become the bigger person.

"I'm sorry Zenjiro, please forgive me, but we need to have a plan. It's the only time we have to plan something." Takeshi bows in deep sorrow and forgiveness.

"Whoa, whoa, enough with the bowing! Fine, I forgive you. What were you saying before?"

"Do you know where the safest area would be to fight?" Takeshi asked his eyes full of hope as he waited for Zenjiro's answer.

"I think it's the South Park. It's rumoured to be full of spirits. The whole area is abandoned as people are too frightened to live there. So I'm sure that if we go there to fight, no one will be harmed or in the way of us."

"Right, we'll head there!" Takeshi said with determination.

"Slight problem." Zenjiro touched his fingers together.

"What?"

"I forgot where it is."

"MEOWSHI!" Takeshi shouts into the atmosphere.

"Meow, Meow. What do you want?" Meowshi hissed.

"We need to go to South Park." Takeshi exclaimed.

"What? Isn't that the rumoured spirit park? Why do you want to go there?"

"I can't explain right now but I'll explain on the way."

"Okay follow me." Meowshi rolled her eyes and started to walk.

Takeshi gave a reassuring look to Zenjiro and gestured for him to follow.

"Ahh, so that's why we're here?"

Takeshi and Zenjiro look. The park was silent, too silent. Swings hung crooked on rusted chains, creaking now and then, though the air was still. The merry-go-round sat lopsided, its faded paint peeling like old skin, and weeds choked the paths where children once ran.

A faint sound echoed almost like laughter, maybe, but it came from nowhere. The sandbox was a hollow pit, full of dead leaves and something darker lurking beneath. Shadows clung to corners they had no business reaching, stretching out as if they remembered.

Nothing moved.

Wow, this park truly seems abandoned. Takeshi gasped.

"Ok thanks, Meowshi, we will need you later on so keep your ears open." Takeshi nodded.

"Whatever."

Why was I given the meanest cat ever? Takeshi thought.

Suddenly, a noise. A noise, not a crazy one. No crazy breathing. Just a noise in the

bushes.

Then a girl came from within the bushes. At first glance, she looked no older than ten. A small, pale girl with long, inky black hair that falls past her knees. Her skin is porcelain-white, smooth and cold like polished bone. She wears an old-fashioned crimson kimono, torn and faded in places, with intricate stitching of spider lilies. The flower of parting and death.

Her face is hauntingly beautiful, like a crafted doll. But her eyes are pitch

black, with thin red rings spiralling inward, never blinking, never looking

away.

When she smiles, her lips stretch just a little too far.

"Who is that? Is she a spirit?" Zenjiro whispers to Takeshi.

"I doubt it." Takeshi whispers back grabbing his sword.

"Oh, I'm no spirit I'm a demon. My name is Ma- Shion."

"Ma-Shion?"

"SHION. Idiot." She shouted.

Her voice is soft and childlike, but carries an echo, as if something far older is speaking through her.

"Wait were you firing fire arrows at us earlier?" Takeshi asked, guarding Zenjiro, stopping him from getting any closer.

"Oh no darling, I don't use arrows. Hmm. I guess Lord Akumu couldn't trust me enough." She touched her chin as she looked down.

"Ah, blue haori, black lines, short fluffy hair. Wait he said it was long. Black sword, blue eyes. You suit the description of what Lord Akumu had given.

Isn't that right Takeshi Hasegawa?" She pointed her finger at Takeshi. Her smile was more creepy than before as it showed her sharp teeth.
