Kenthelion fell silent as Amalia's chest rose and fell rapidly—her eyes widened in clear shock.
Amalia
"Who is he?" she asked, word by word, her gaze piercing Kenthelion's face, which remained utterly unfazed. He, in turn, was still enjoying the sight before him—more precisely, the accidental reveal of Amalia's cleavage due to her seated posture.
Amalia
"You bastard, you've been staring at my breasts this whole time?! I'm asking—who is he!?"
With a growl, Amalia slapped Kenthelion's shoulder hard. This was no time for jokes, yet he seemed unconcerned.
Kenthelion
"Uh... um, that is... Marcus's father," he answered quickly, as if only now realizing after her verbal slap.
Amalia
"Marcus's father? I never heard he was still alive. Didn't his family die long ago...?"
Her tone mixed disbelief and confusion. For Amalia, this wasn't just a surprise—it suggested that all history she'd known might be wrong.
Kenthelion
"Yes, of course he's alive. Who do you think has been watching your back for hundreds of years without you realizing? He's... an unseen shadow, but always there."
Amalia
"Is that... for real?"
Kenthelion
"Absolutely."
Amalia
"Then... how do you know? Do you know him? Or... have you been hiding him all this time?"
Suspicion rose in Amalia. Although she knew Kenthelion was well-informed, this involved a major figure—Marcus's father.
Kenthelion
"Yeah... take a guess," Kenthelion replied casually, grinning mischievously. His eyes openly drifted back to Amalia's slightly open neckline.
Amalia
"Asshole! I thought he was your brother!" Amalia unleashed her anger. With a swift move, she shoved Kenthelion onto the sofa behind him and, without hesitation, began pummeling him relentlessly. At that moment, she no longer cared about his aristocratic image or demeanor. She just wanted to beat this lecherous man until he stopped spouting nonsense.
Kenthelion
"Wait! Don't hit me! I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!" Kenthelion shouted, dodging as best he could, though he couldn't hide the laugh tugging at the corner of his lips.
Seeing Kenthelion beg, Amalia finally ceased her blows. She drew a deep breath, then fixed Kenthelion with a determined expression.
Amalia
"Speak. Now."
Kenthelion
"I made a pact with Marcus's father, Alexander Corvinus. He agreed to use his own blood to save Selene." Kenthelion spoke casually as he and Alexander Corvinus slowly exchanged places in Amalia's mind, who still appeared dazed.
Amalia
"Is his blood really that powerful?" she asked suspiciously, though her eyes still held traces of confusion.
Kenthelion
"Well, Alexander Corvinus is the original ancestor of vampires and Lycans. His two sons, Marcus and William, were bitten by a bat and a wolf, respectively. The result? Marcus became the first vampire, William the first Lycan." Kenthelion sat beside Amalia, his voice calm and measured. He watched her puzzled expression, and with deliberate casualness, slid an arm around her waist, his hand brushing where it shouldn't.
Amalia was too focused on Kenthelion's explanation to notice she was being manipulated.
Amalia
"So the blood I drank... it didn't come from Marcus or William's line, right?"
Kenthelion
"Correct. It was blood from a descendant of Alexander Corvinus's third son. He never got involved in the conflict like his two brothers, and his lineage remained hidden until now. You drank blood from one of his descendants."
Amalia
"I see... Damn it."
Upon realizing this, Amalia's eyes widened further, then turned angry as she noticed Kenthelion's arm still around her waist and his hand on her—she roughly shoved Kenthelion off the seat.
Kenthelion
(thinking) Well, that's a nice cushion...
But outwardly, he merely smiled without a word. He knew fully he'd taken advantage of Amalia's distraction—and seemed pleased with it.
Amalia
"You lecherous bastard!" she yelled, glaring sharply at Kenthelion. But he only met her gaze with a casual smile, as if entirely innocent.
Kenthelion
(thinking) This noblewoman, even when angry, is like a stage actress. No psychological pressure. Selene's better—her choice of curses is richer.
Amalia
"So Marcus has been lying to us all this time? He said if someone killed his brother, we'd all die! Yet his father is the original ancestor?"
Kenthelion
"You misunderstand. No matter who dies—Marcus, William, even Alexander—you won't die. You don't depend on them but on your own evolution," Kenthelion explained, now sounding serious.
Amalia
(angrily) "Damn. Marcus lied to us for thousands of years!"
Kenthelion
"Yes, he deserved to die," Kenthelion replied, while... once again reaching toward Amalia's hip.
Amalia
"YOU BASTARD TOO!"
She shouted even louder than before, nearly knocking the wind out of Kenthelion.
Kenthelion
"Well, this tigress really bites," he murmured, still smiling.
Amalia
"What are you looking at again, pervert?!"
Her anger persisted, especially noticing Kenthelion's eyes drifting back to her chest, and—yes—his hand returning to places it shouldn't.
Kenthelion
"Just a quick glance. No harm done, right?" he said in a low, casual tone.
Amalia snorted sharply. This time she chose to ignore Kenthelion—not because she forgave him, but because her mind was still reeling from the revelations about Marcus and Corvinus. Everything she'd heard today was too earth-shattering.
Sensing Amalia was deep in thought, Kenthelion decided to give her space. He no longer disturbed her. Silently, he poured wine into a glass, allowing the silence to linger between them for a moment.
Amalia took the glass and downed it in one gulp.
Gulp... Gulp... Gulp...
Kenthelion watched in mild surprise, then poured another glass for her—and one for himself. They continued drinking like that, bottle after bottle.
Empty bottles began to accumulate around them, yet neither appeared drunk.
Kenthelion glanced at Amalia now sipping water after the wine, feeling puzzled. Why wasn't she drunk? His plan to intoxicate her had apparently failed. He could only sigh inwardly, slightly pressured.
Yet Amalia—having recognized Kenthelion's sly intent—chose to play along. She wanted to see how far this bastard would push his limits.
Amalia looked at Kenthelion with a teasing smile.
Amalia
"Hehe... you tried to get me drunk? Did you forget I'm a vampire? I won't get drunk... unless I want to."
She laughed, satisfied to see Kenthelion's sudden shock.
Kenthelion
"Laugh all you want... but don't go mad with laughter."
Amalia
"I just feel... happy. Today has been fun. I haven't felt this in a long time."
A moment of silence filled the air before Amalia spoke again.
Amalia
"By the way, where is Alexander Corvinus you mentioned earlier?"
Kenthelion
"I can't say right now. You'll know later."
Amalia nodded slowly. She assumed Kenthelion hid Alexander's location for the legendary man's safety.
Amalia
"Oh, so you want to keep him safe, right?"
But Kenthelion laughed briefly and shook his head.
Kenthelion
"Keep him safe? You think it goes that far. Actually, both of us could be killed by him if we act recklessly."
His tone sounded joking, but Amalia knew it was not entirely a joke.
Kenthelion was indeed crafting a new plan—one slightly deviating from mere conquest strategy. He wanted Amalia entirely for himself. However, he was currently weakened after expending Aetherion energy to eradicate the planetary will of Pandora and Eywa. Even so, he believed that not even Alexander Corvinus could defeat him directly.
Amalia
"What?"
Amalia's eyes widened. She did not expect Kenthelion to speak of Alexander Corvinus in such a manner. Was he truly that powerful?
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from inside the cabin. Selene appeared, wearing pajamas, her expression still sleepy.
Selene
"What are you talking about?"
She approached and saw Kenthelion seated beside Amalia. Kenthelion casually drew her in to sit at his side—and without warning—kissed her lips.
Selene was taken aback. Even though they had shared the night, Kenthelion still dared such affection in front of others.
Selene
"Let go! You bastard, there are people here!" she cried, pushing him away.
Kenthelion
"So if there were no one here... would you resume last night's unfinished round?"
Selene
"You... You are shameless!"
Selene's face flushed, and she hurriedly turned away.
Selene to Amalia
"Lord Corvinus is an extraordinary person. He has done much in secret for vampires and werewolves," Selene remarked when she heard Corvinus's name in conversation.
Kenthelion observed Selene's embarrassed expression, while Amalia's cold glare treated him as trash. He ignored it, then resumed speaking with Amalia on their previous topic.
Suddenly, Kenthelion's wristwatch vibrated. A holographic screen appeared, showing the Red Queen contacting him.
Red Queen
"Brother, Michael has been captured by the government. Also, one vampire was captured alive by military forces at the Lycan base where Lucian is."
The atmosphere turned tense at once.
Kenthelion
"It seems we have a serious problem," he said gravely.
Amalia
"What is it?"
Selene
"What happened?"
Kenthelion
"War will break out soon. Your existence—vampires and werewolves—has been detected by the government. Michael, along with another vampire, was captured alive by military forces," Kenthelion answered seriously, looking at both of them.
Selene
"Then, what will we do?" she asked in a panicked tone. Now that the government knew, they might deploy full force to exterminate their races.
Amalia appeared somewhat uneasy, but her vast experience kept her calm. She looked at Kenthelion with a neutral expression, awaiting his answer.
Kenthelion
"No need to panic. Alexander Corvinus will surely take action. If we disrupt his plans now, the consequences will be worse—and it will be his responsibility."
He smiled thinly. In his heart, Kenthelion cared little for the fate of vampires or Lycans. His focus now was singular—reach the vampire stronghold, slip inside, and perhaps find another beautiful woman. After dealing with Alexander Corvinus, he would let Mira Han lead Earth in this Underworld universe with a fleet of 1,000 StarCraft Dominion Battlecruisers.
After that? He would return to Terra Aeterna, to enjoy life in luxury and peace.
To be continued... Season 2
