Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Funds Freeze_1
The person outside the door was none other than Song Keming.
Clutching a beautifully wrapped box in his hand, he nodded politely to Wang Qin, "Auntie, you're too kind, just call me Xiao Song."
"Alright, please come in."
Wang Qin's attitude towards Song Keming was at one extreme, almost the opposite of that towards Feng Lin.
Her expression was full of flattery.
After Song Keming entered the villa, he found Xu Ruoying and a man holding hands.
His face instantly darkened, but the next moment he recovered, smiling as he placed the gift box in front of Xu Chuan.
"Uncle, this is some top-notch Bi Luo Chun tea we just received. I remember you like tea, so I brought some especially for you."
"That's very kind of you, please have a seat."
Xu Chuan nodded to himself. Comparing the two, Feng Lin and Song Keming were as different as clouds and mud.
"Is he... a relative of yours?"
Song Keming sat on the sofa, his gaze fixed on Feng Lin, his expression still holding a smile.
Wang Qin hurriedly scurried over, sitting beside Song Keming, "Xiao Song, this man is..."
"He's my husband!"
Xu Ruoying stated coldly, cutting off Wang Qin's words.
Realizing she couldn't hide the truth any longer, Wang Qin immediately explained, "Mr. Song, don't mind it, this man was jokingly arranged as Xiao Ying's childhood betrothal by her grandfather. Who would have thought this kid would take it seriously."
"Hmph! But we are already married."
Xu Ruoying raised her marriage certificate, now feeling nauseous at the sight of Song Keming, a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Song Keming's face finally became stern, "Xiao Ying, what on earth is wrong with you? In what way have I wronged you?"
"You have the nerve to ask?" Xu Ruoying snorted coldly, grasping Feng Lin's hand, "Let's go!"
"Presumptuous!"
Xu Chuan slammed his hand on the coffee table, his face full of anger, "Xu Ruoying, if you dare to leave this house, don't ever come back in this lifetime!"
But Xu Ruoying didn't slow her pace, pulling Feng Lin along as they briskly walked away.
Song Keming's face was sinister. How could he let another man take the prize he had so difficultly secured?
"Mr. Song! Don't be upset. Without our consent as parents, that kid wouldn't dare to do anything rash."
Wang Qin quickly came over to console him, fearful that Song Keming would hold a grudge.
"Auntie, I'm not upset. However, the three billion yuan order was the dowry our Song Family had prepared, and I hope you handle it properly."
Song Keming's words were very clear.
Anyone with sense could hear the implication.
The Xu Family's assets were over ten billion, and this order could increase them by thirty percent.
But if the Song Family could give it, they could also take it away.
The Song Family also controlled half of the material supply in Jiang City; if they refused to sell to the Xu Family in the future,
The consequences would be dire.
"Don't worry, Mr. Song, we know what to do," Xu Chuan said, his face also becoming severe. The Song Family had the power to ruin them.
Wang Qin was right; the Xu Family could not afford to offend the Song Family.
...
Xu Ruoying, pulling Feng Lin, left the Xu Family home.
Along the way, her phone chimed with a new message, and she took it out to have a look, her face turning icy cold.
"What's wrong?" Feng Lin asked curiously.
"All my bank cards have been frozen, and I can't even use mobile banking."
Xu Ruoying took out a black wallet, opened it to look inside, "I've only got a little more than two hundred yuan on me."
"It's okay, I have money."
Feng Lin dug around in his pocket, pulling out a few crumpled bills.
There were fifty-cent pieces, one-yuan notes, and three ten-yuan bills.
At this sight, Xu Ruoying burst out laughing.
She was also incredibly surprised, wondering why she found herself so prone to laughter whenever she was with Feng Lin.
"Are you regretting it? Regretting not taking the two million yuan just now?" Xu Ruoying looked up at Feng Lin.
"I do regret it a little," Feng Lin nodded.
"Humph! I misjudged you!"
Xu Ruoying pouted slightly and strode forward.
Feng Lin smiled and followed, "Where are we going now?"
"I don't know, I probably can't go back to the villa where I lived." Xu Ruoying looked back at Feng Lin, "With the Xu Family and Song Family plotting against me, it's impossible to find a job in Jiang City."
"Are you saying that you can only rely on me to support you now?" Feng Lin couldn't help but curl his lips.
Xu Ruoying glared at Feng Lin immediately, "What? You don't want to?"
"I'm just afraid you can't handle hardship. Old Godmother chili sauce with steamed buns, can you?"
Feng Lin asked with a smile, his hands in his pockets.
"Of course, I can."
Xu Ruoying nodded.
"Remember, in Jiang City, my old man happens to have a house. Come with me now, and if you consider me one of your own, tell me what happened."
Feng Lin hailed a taxi.
But Xu Ruoying smiled and waved off the taxi driver, pulling Feng Lin to take the bus instead, "What's the occasion? Still taking a taxi?"
Feng Lin laughed and didn't speak.
The two took the bus together, heading to the urban village in Jiang City.
Along the way, Xu Ruoying told Feng Lin everything she saw today.
Feng Lin nodded silently. So that was the reason.
…
The urban village here consisted of two houses sharing one courtyard.
It was like a family complex, with several houses sharing one yard.
Entering the gate, they found the courtyard was well-kept, with several vegetable gardens full of greens.
The houses were divided into left and right sides.
There were clearly people living in the house on the right side, with quilts hanging on the line.
The house on the left had walls that were very mottled.
Counting the bricks on the wall, Feng Lin stopped at the nineteenth layer and single-handedly pulled out one brick.
He took out a set of keys from inside.
"Not bad, Feng Lin!"
Xu Ruoying couldn't help but exclaim. If there was a demolition here in the future, he could probably get a good amount of money.
"Who?"
Just then, a man's voice came from the house opposite.
Following that, a bald man with a cleaver walked toward the yard.
Feng Lin stuffed the brick back in and turned around to look at the opposite side.
"Who are you?"
Seeing the man's attire, he guessed there was trouble.
Must be a thief or something, not a decent person anyway.
"Wuu wuu..."
Suddenly, Feng Lin heard a woman's voice. He immediately walked over.
"Feng Lin, be careful."
Xu Ruoying felt her heart in her throat too and, looking around, she picked up a stick from the vegetable patch and followed behind Feng Lin.
"What are you doing?"
Feng Lin, hands still in his pockets, walked towards the bald man.
The bald man's eyes weren't looking at Feng Lin at all, but sizing up Xu Ruoying behind him.
This figure, this appearance, even TV stars aren't this beautiful.
"You little punk! Don't be a freaking busybody, or I'll cripple you!"
The bald man raised the cleaver, pointing at Feng Lin and shouted.
Without saying a word, Feng Lin kicked the man's stomach.
Bang!
The man's body flew backwards, smashing open the door behind him.
Feng Lin walked into the house and saw there were seven or eight people inside, with only a middle-aged woman kneeling on the ground, tears streaming down her face.
There were also traces of fresh blood at the corner of her mouth.
This is...
Feng Lin remembered. A few years back, he seemed to have seen her several times. The woman was his father's former neighbor, Aunt Tang!
