Teen Wolf - Rising Of A Chimera.

Chapter 36: [Chapter —36]

As soon as he reached his room, Markus immediately brought out every rock he had carved protection runes for.

He didn't know what he was doing whether it would work but he had not the time to think or plan.

So he worked, he brought the bag of rocks which he had picked up due their nature being intune with mana and placed around the house.

He knew that he was running on borrowed time so as soon as all the rocks were in place, he connected to them.

He didn't know how he did it but he could, his [Aura Source] and [Genius Comprehension] taking the better brunt of his load.

But he couldn't let it be just that, he wanted more for what he had envisioned.

So he brought out his only wild card to the mix, The Dice Of Fate.

He breathed in, feeling the nature of the runes spread out through his home and having no other choice besides relying on his own knowledge and fate, he rolled.

Closing his eyes even as heard the groves of the dice hitting the metaphysical wall that it was constrained in.

When all was said and done he opened his eyes and felt his heart drop

[—Dice Roll Results - 99]

At that moment he felt like chuckling, no, laughing his heart out but he held himself.

His eyes focused, so much that he didn't recognise himself.

He felt [Aura Source] and [Genius Comprehension] somehow meld together, his vision filled with sigils while his mind seamlessly comprehended everything in his field of sense.

He felt his mana churn and instead of expending it outwards, he simply connected to mana around him fuelling him with a rush of power he hadn't felt before.

His body felt like a beacon of energy, unending and unmoving.

He felt like studying his state, just so he could replicate it somehow but he had not the time or pleasure.

So his arms raised, letting strands of mana in the form of wire slowly coalesce through his body and mana connecting each runestone.

With the connection accomplished he felt like he could rewrite the very nature of mana in said stones, so that's what he did.

The runestones alone wouldn't have been able to handle the intensity of the sigils he was gonna change the runes to, the rocks were just that inferior but he had an idea.

One that he just comprehended as soon as the dice had fallen.

His skill [State-Of-Matter Magic] was the lynchpin to his plan.

He was gonna try to transmute the stone into something more magically durable and conductive.

His studies in the lore of this magic was normally not high enough that he could achieve this but now that wasn't gonna be a problem.

He had a reality bending dice influencing the results of whatever he started the roll doing.

That in this case being to setup a barrier on the house.

So as soon as he connected to the runestones, his magic immediately went to magic guided by a metaphysical force feeding on his knowledge and magic.

He understood at that moment that he did not need to carve the sigils on the stones with tools, his will and mana were enough.

So guided by his newfound epiphany, he willed it.

It began with the stones surrounding the house floating.

He didn't care whether he was seen by other people or not, he was already way deep into shit as it was.

He raised his hand, his mind, senses and perception allowing him to see the meaning in everything within his sense of range and that was a lot.

He perceived each object in that range of perception as if it were right infront of him, and with that he could perceive the code in their meaning in the form of sigils.

A much powerful version of the runes that he had seen the hunters use to ward their houses.

He took inspiration from that one encounter with that side of magical lore, he pulled at the mana around him encompassing every inch of his house.

Looking through the sigils all around him and understanding them on a much deeper level than his simple rune knowledge.

He looked through the sigils broadcasted on houses, finding sigils that held metaphysical meaning.

Protection, security, stability and more.

He picked those that he needed, understood the structure that made them up and the intent beneath it all and let them go to the wind.

It was a fleeting thing, understanding something that would have taken normal people ages to figure out.

But he was far from normal, his traits were working underneath the seams connecting with [Aura Source] on a deeper level than he remembered them doing.

But understanding the sigils wouldn't be enough if he didn't have a material strong enough to handle them.

So he focused back on the runestones.

Then he flipped a switch in his mind, connecting deep into his soul and utilising one of his longtime skills.

[State Of Matter Magic]

He already had the basics and more down on that skills spell-set.

But he didn't want to turn anything liquid, solid or gas.

No, he saw a deeper meaning to that skill now.

He didn't know whether this would work-out or not, but he still tried.

He activated his skill, holding each floating runestone in the air with a metaphysical grip that allowed him the influence that he needed.

What he was trying to do by all accounts shouldn't have been feasible, but when you factored in magic into any equation then anyone would find possibilities where there were none.

And that's what he did.

He already knew the mineral compound of what he was trying to turn the rock to, right to the base and now he was using magic to push that change.

Matter State Magic gave him a great leeway in allowing him to shift, change, break and remould the rocks in ways that he probably wouldn't have been able to without a catalyst like the skill.

It took him a few minutes, pumping magic derived from the atmosphere around him, focusing the minerals compounds into the raw mana and breaking each huddle he had with Matter State Magic.

When he was done, he felt like immediately breaking down and heaving, putting so much strain in controlling the mana outside his body was stressful both mentally and physically.

But he didn't relent. He ignored the blinkers of notifications on his vision, he ignored the uncomfortable strain riddling his body and started the most important part of the entire process.

' Just a little bit more...' He thought with a smile, finding a smile gracing his face as he stared at the black shimmering stones floating around his house.

A hybridisised mockery of a diamond, slowly absorbing mana like sponge under his control.

So finally, breathing in he focused once more. Feeling the vibration of mana all around him, then he led each mote of magic to the diamonds.

And with incredible control of mana he carved into each diamond at the same time, each diamond finding itself being engraved with the same sigils all connected to each other in a cacophony of geometric shapes.

Protection – The Sigil would make it so that anything containing even a hint of supernatural blood would not be allowed inside, it would work like mountain ash too but much better.

Peace – Making it so that nobody could enter with the intent of violence, this sigil was connected to the protection rune making it so that even inside this would work by locking the violent intents of supernatural creatures.

Blood – This sigil would allow anyone who had Markus' blood, his mother or brother to enter with no problem and even allowed them to invite anyone if supernatural nature inside. Of course there were failsafes, making it so that the invite is void if they have ill intent.

These were all the runes he was able to carve into the diamonds, more and they would have shattered.

But this was good enough, after all each major sigil was connected to lesser and smaller sigils connecting the entire matrix together.

And finally once he was done—he entered, feeling the thin film of repulsive mana phase through.

He needed to leave, but that didn't mean that he would simply disappear so he'd need to make some last minute additions to his house.
