As Luo Yuan dispersed the gathering energy, he clearly felt the thick fog in the forest begin to thin.

But he didn't pay it much mind.

No matter how dense the mist was, it couldn't block his vision.

Following the narrow path deeper into Glimwood Tangle, Luo Yuan could sense an increasingly intense presence radiating from the heart of the forest.

This was the source of the Wooloo's panic.

After pushing through layers of trees, the forest suddenly opened up—and what came into view was a weathered, moss-covered ruin.

A stone arch stood solemnly in the clearing, and beside it, two large Pokémon were watching Luo Yuan silently.

To the left, one was cloaked in red fur, the mane around its neck faintly shaped like a shield.

To the right, the other was a brilliant blue, with long braided strands hanging below its ears.

"Just as I thought." Luo Yuan wasn't surprised in the slightest.

Zamazenta and Zacian—guardians of Galar, long said to reside in Glimwood Tangle. There were few Pokémon capable of stirring up this much disturbance—of course it was them.

It was clear now: the [Dynamaxed Wooloo] that had barreled into the forest had been taken down by these two.

Luo Yuan gave a brief moment of silent mourning for that poor Wooloo he'd never even met. Of all the places to run to, you had to choose Glimwood Tangle? You didn't know these two specialize in taking down [Dynamaxed] Pokémon? They even took on Eternatus and came out on top.

While Luo Yuan was observing Zacian and Zamazenta, the two were also sizing him up.

Though they resided deep in the forest, they had witnessed the ominous darkness that had recently covered Galar.

As ancient heroes who had defeated Eternatus thousands of years ago, they recognized the Darkest Day immediately.

And just when they had resolved to emerge once more and confront Eternatus, the darkness had suddenly… vanished.

At the time, they were left utterly bewildered. Had Eternatus suddenly reformed? Ended the phenomenon on its own?

Unable to make sense of it, they chose to remain hidden and observe.

And now, they found themselves face-to-face with a young man carrying traces of Eternatus' aura.

While they puzzled over this, Luo Yuan took the initiative and spoke.

"I was sent by the Galar League to investigate the unusual occurrences in Glimwood Tangle. And from the look of it—"

His gaze swept over the pair. "—you two are the ones responsible for those disturbances."

"So, I'm going to have to ask you to come with me. For questioning."

He said this with a perfectly straight face.

Zacian and Zamazenta: "???"

They didn't quite understand what this "questioning" meant, but from his tone, they got the gist.

This human… we just met, and he's already demanding we follow him?

How arrogant.

Sure, they could sense the lingering aura of Eternatus on him, and yes, he had displayed strong psychic abilities earlier—but that didn't give him the right to throw his weight around.

The two legendary Pokémon decided it was time to put this presumptuous human in his place.

But what they didn't know… was that they had walked right into Luo Yuan's trap.

To be fair, Luo Yuan hadn't originally planned to capture Zacian and Zamazenta.

But that was only because he'd been in a hurry to return to Johto and hadn't wanted to make a special trip.

Now that Leon had personally assigned him this mission, it was as if the legendaries had been placed right in front of him. If I don't catch them now, wouldn't that be disrespectful to Leon's good intentions?

And after capturing so many legendaries, Luo Yuan had developed a simple and effective strategy.

No frills. No drawn-out persuasion.

Just one method: battle.

All that talk of emotional bonds and ideals was fine for ordinary Pokémon.

But for legendaries? The only way to earn their respect—was through strength.

As Zacian and Zamazenta shifted into battle stance, Luo Yuan was already prepared.

"Take care of this—Deoxys. Mewtwo."

One was Fairy-type, the other Fighting-type. Psychic-types like Deoxys and Mewtwo were a far better matchup than, say, Rayquaza, Dialga, or Palkia.

Of course, don't get the wrong idea—Luo Yuan wasn't planning a simple 2-on-2.

Anyone who knew him would know—Luo Yuan never played by the book.

His rules were… flexible.

Before him stood three Pokémon.

In the center: Mewtwo.

On the left and right: Deoxys in its Attack and Speed Forms—Forme 1 and Forme 2, respectively.

Three legendaries now faced Zacian and Zamazenta.

The sight left the two heroes momentarily stunned.

This wasn't what they'd expected. It was supposed to be them teaching the human a lesson.

But suddenly… it felt more like they were about to be the ones on the receiving end.

Reality didn't give them much time to think it over.

In the blink of an eye, Mewtwo and the two Deoxys lunged forward.
