Taming His Demon Lover

Chapter 17: Tame the demon!

The ship's loyal crew all gaped at Robin, they had all heard the news and still couldn't believe their master was going to marry that young man.

Even though Lord Mucliber was glowering at them they could still see that the boy was small and cute.

Andras glared at the men to remind them to behave themselves around his guest.

To his dismay they were all acting like they had never seen a stranger board the ship before but he couldn't fault them.

Even in his worst, grubbiest state Robin still looked quite angelic.

Andras looked down at his bride to see how he was responding to their speculation and endless fascination with the boy's good looks.

Robin just shivered, the dawn lit morning air felt even colder than the night air to him especially now that they were at sea and the breeze kept the ship rocking back and forth.

Unused to being on a ship, the swaying motion nearly caused Robin to stumble.

Powerful hands caught him and he found himself hauled up against the giant's side again.

"Put me down," muttered Robin. "I can walk by myself."

Andras ignored him, he hadn't forgotten that he had seen that Robin was still limping from his fall in the forest and thought it best for him to rest and stay off his feet.

Since he wouldn't budge, Robin just let Andras do as he pleased, as he lost the energy to prolong the fight.

When Andras beckoned, Fagan the tall, chocolate skinned man with neat, waist length black locs walked over to clear a path so that the couple could walk through.

He was the identical twin brother of Zagan, who had introduced himself as the co captain of the ship earlier.

Robin marveled at them both, it was easy to tell them apart because of their skin tones, one was light skinned and the other dark.

Zagan and Fagan were almost as tall as Andras but not quite.

Nevertheless, those men were eyes catching all the same and would have drawn attention from all the ladies at the seaside village.

The only thing that really set them apart as outsiders was the numerous piercings.

Not to mention the two stretched out earlobes that had an odd looking gold disk that looped through their ears that seemed almost tribal and primitive.

Fagan must have noticed the boy staring at him because he suddenly turned his powerful gaze on the boy's tender face thinking his frightening look would make him cower in fear.

Peaking over Andras' muscular arm, Robin amazed Fagan when he did the opposite in reaction.

He scowled back.

This defiant act pleased Fagan tremendously; it showed the boy had a bit of spunk in him that could be nurtured.

A sudden spark of interest showed in his dark brown fawn eyes.

Perhaps Robin gazed a second too long at the handsome twins than Andras would have liked for he pinched the boy.

Robin seemed to be mostly preoccupied with staring at Andras when not glancing warily at Andras' hands.

Since he kept glancing back and forth the boy must have been comparing his looks to Zagan's.

Or was it because Andras was no longer in demon mode and seemed to be back to his normal churlish self.

So much for trying to keep a serious face around the boy and his men, staring down at Robin lying in his arms he almost gifted the boy with another of his rare smiles…almost.

"Your bags have been placed in a room and a bath is also being prepared. Would you like to go to your room now?"

Robin nodded.

When they finally reached below the deck Robin asked, "Please put me down."

To his surprise, Andras actually did as he asked.

Robin was so shocked he nearly lost his balance.

He realized that talking to Andras politely got better results than when he yelled at him in frustration.

It sent the wheels turning in his brain that with a bit of luck he could tame the demon and eventually get him to obey all his commands.

Since Robin didn't know what the future held it was certainly worth a try.

The lighting from the bedroom gleamed warm and seemed to beckon them inside.

"I'm sorry to rush you like this but we need to set sail soon. After you bathe and put on the suit on the bed, we are only borrowing the vicar for about an hour or two. We can't take him with us and must return the vicar to the village. After the ceremony feel free to rest or do whatever you please."

"Are we really getting married?" pouted Robin. "Can't we just lie and say we got married to Queen Tiandra."

"I made a sacred vow to Queen Tiandra that I would marry you before taking you to Hell's Island. It can only be broken at the cost of a painful death. Don't worry since neither of us want this marriage. I thought of a convenient loophole and conveniently left out of the vow how long we'll stay married. As long as we don't have sexual relations with each other for a year then the marriage can be easily annulled. If we do, then it's permanent. How does that sound?"

"I never wanted to get married either way so it's fine with me," Robin said suspiciously.

Andras seemed angry about the whole being forced into marriage but that upset wasn't directed at himself, Robin realized immediately.

Robin asked teasingly, "how can you be so sure you won't change your mind and wish to stay married to me?"

"Heaven forbid, I stay married to a flirt," Andras grinned crookedly. "I have a mistress back on Hell's Island to see to my needs. Besides, you're far from my ideal type, too flat chested. If I wanted to marry someone with excess baggage, I would be married already since just like yourself you would be hard pressed to find a woman without problems these days."

"Really, it's because I'm Tatiana's child, isn't it?"

"Precisely."

At the mention of the word mistress Robin didn't feel anything because he didn't know Andras long enough to have any serious attachment or familiarity like that.

Yet when Andras confirmed he didn't want the marriage because of his family, Robin couldn't help whose blood he shared.

An odd sense of unease at his words rang in alarm through Robin's head.

Robin pointed his finger at Andras' chest, while throwing back his shoulders and forcing himself to stand straighter.

"I don't care who you have relations with on Hell's Island since I don't wish to get married either. You are not my type either so don't get upset when I get a lover too."

Robin didn't know why he got so upset and wished that Andras would just leave the room.

"You will do no such thing!" shouted Andras in anger.

His shout was so unexpected that Robin stared up at him in bewilderment.
