Taiyi Dao Fruit

Chapter 17: Overcoming Two Disasters, The Pearl that Calms the Wind_2

The Heavenly Tribulation seemed to respond to this and underwent a change; the sky appeared to transform into a Thunder Pool, with flashes of Thunder Light gathering into a flowing liquid like water, brewing an aura of destruction.

"It's actually turned into Thunder Water."

Jiang Li couldn't help but glance at the Divine Light floating behind him, as if trying to peer through the brilliance to see the Dao Fruit within, "Could it really be the Dao Fruit targeting me?"

After all, Gongsun Qingyue merely contained the Dao Fruit of the Three Holy Mothers; she wasn't the Three Holy Mothers herself. Was this all necessary?

Moreover, Jiang prided himself as a top-notch good man, wholeheartedly devoted in love, to the extent that even if the actual Erlang God wanted him as a brother-in-law, it surely wouldn't be a loss.

Unfortunately, Qingyuan Miaodao True Monarch's Dao Fruit showed no reaction, and Jiang Li was unable to determine whether Erlang God's overprotective attribute for his sister had indeed imprinted itself onto the Dao Fruit.

Instead, it was the Heavenly Tribulation that was changing once more.

The Thunder Pool surged, and purple Thunder Water cascaded down, leaving behind a dazzling trail against the night sky.

Every drop of Thunder Water shimmered with Thunder and Lightning, its radiance ebbing and flowing as if each was a tiny world of thunder, hiding tremendous power within its magnificent beauty.

Yuxu Temple had almost instantly raised a thick layer of Pure Light, covering the halls. The Array operated at full strength, shrouding the palaces and pavilions in a hazy veil. Directly facing the Thunder Water, Jiang Li sensed the danger within.

The first drop of Thunder Water fell on the Thunder Map surrounding Jiang Li, a seemingly weightless collision, yet it produced a thunderous boom.

One drop of Thunder Water contained hundreds, if not thousands, of thunders; the newly formed Thunder Map was directly punctured by it. Then came a torrential onslaught of thunderous rain, erupting with countless thunderbolts.

Jiang Li was instantly submerged by thunder, the endless Thunder Light forming an unmatched storm, turning the sky into a sea of purple. The intense Thunder Light pierced through every inch of space, as if cleaving it apart to reach into the void.

But behind the Thunder Map were seven other Sceneries. With the Eight Sceneries linked, the Array, despite being breached by the Thunder Light and hammered upon Jiang Li's body, was unable to cause any true harm to his core.

A red wooden whip appeared in front of him, grasped in Jiang Li's hand, as he used it as a fulcrum to toggle between life and death.

The thunder reduced the flesh to ashes, yet was transformed by the force of life, going through a cycle of death and rebirth. This, in turn, gradually refined Jiang Li's physical body, stabilizing the Three Elements.

His eyes shone crystalline, their irises appearing as solid as his flesh, evoking a hue similar to the Divine Farmer's appearance.

Divine Thought emerged in his eyes, faintly producing sparks of electricity.

This instance of the Heavenly Tribulation, far from harming Jiang Li, had instead aided him, allowing his Three Elements to grow once more.

Yet, this brought trouble for Yuxu Temple.

Despite having the Array for defense, the Pure Light of Yuxu Temple was still violently shaking. The expenditure of not just providing Spiritual Energy to fabricate the tribulation but also resisting the lightning made the consumption of the Array unprecedentedly vast, to the point of nearly becoming unsustainable.

Jiang Li seemed to have noticed this and promptly shifted his position, flying outside of Yuxu Peak.

The Heavenly Tribulation, too, followed the pull of his Qi Mechanism, moving on its own.

"It seems Fellow Daoist Jiang remains at ease," Shen Hou said with a smile upon seeing this, "Moreover, since he didn't use the Array as a shield, it should also let his fellow disciples understand his sincerity."

Daoist Guang Cheng, however, had an increasingly stern look, "Aren't you going to make a move yet?"

Up to now, no one had hindered Jiang Li's crossing of the tribulation; even the Immortal Queen had remained silent.

Logically, even if they couldn't surpass Daoist Guang Cheng's interception, there should have been some kind of action. The complete lack of movement instead presented an unsettling omen.

It seemed that the enemy was not in a hurry to make a move.

Meanwhile, Jiang Li flew to a peak near Yuxu Peak. The Thunder Water poured down upon the mountain's summit, instantly melting the snow and shattering rocks.

The accumulation of ice and snow over countless years on the peak couldn't withstand the lightning; the Mysterious Ice evaporated into mist, and even the rocks were blasted away.

But Jiang Li remained steadfastly in place, guiding life and death with the Ochre Whip. His Physical Body and Qi vibrated, growing stronger and stronger.

With the One-foot Hammer replenishing his True Qi and transforming the Three Elements, even if he were to exhaust himself for ten days and nights, he would not reach the point of depletion.

Suddenly, Jiang Li's figure shuddered, and Innate Qi roared out, engulfing the lightning with its powerful Qi Mechanism, causing the Thunder Water to be repelled upward, erupting into countless lightning bolts in the sky.

"Boom!"

In the midst of the deafening explosion, the storm surged, its sound reverberating for a hundred miles. Bolts of lightning erupted, swept away by the mighty sweep of Primordial Qi, weakening the tribulation's intensity, no longer as fierce as before.

It was nearly over, but...

"Aren't you going to make a move?" Jiang Li and Daoist Guang Cheng shared the same question.

At this point, with no one acting, was it an act of benevolence from Jiang Li's enemies or did they have another scheme?

If it was the latter—

"They must have teamed up," a dire thought flashed through Jiang Li's mind.

As he pondered, his figure descended from the air, his feet lightly touching the peak bathed by lightning, guiding a bolt of Qi into the ground.

What was once a desolate mountain suddenly had an influx of yin energy from beneath, and amidst the steam, faint traces of flames began to appear.

Jiang Li felt a chill creep up from his feet into his body, igniting into flames, scorching his flesh, leaving ashes wherever it passed.

Using Heavenly Thunder to trigger Earth Fire, Jiang Li actively induced the second calamity. The yin fire of the Earth entered his body from his feet, sweeping through his limbs and organs in an instant.
