Chapter 813: Turning A Calamity To A Blessing
This was perhaps the second most desperate battle Thirteen and his Monster Army had fought in this life.
The first major battle they had experienced was against Arundel the Destroyer.
In that battle, Giga, Rocky, Blacky, and the rest of Thirteen's Monster Army were either dead, dying, or seriously injured.
In that devastating fight, Thirteen's life hung by a thread.

While they weren't as helpless in the current battle, fighting Azothrall proved to be draining and very exhausting.
Every time they fought, Azothrall was faster and stronger than ever before. It also gradually learned to effectively attack Rocky and deal damage to the other party's body.
In short, as the powerful being's first battle after being born in the world, it helped the Alien-like Monster grow at a fast rate.
Although Azothrall quickly adapted to the world of Solterra and became stronger as it fought so it could finally look for its Queen, the one who reaped the greatest benefit was none other than Rocky.
Ever since he was killed by Arundel, Rocky had never experienced a battle where his life was truly on the line.
Even when fighting against the Ancient Eight-Headed Serpent, which was a Majin King, Rocky believed that he could escape at any given time if he wanted to.
But Azothrall proved to be a very powerful and dangerous opponent, and it made Rocky once again feel desperate.
This desperation squeezed all of its potential, allowing it to better understand how to fight with his life on the line.
Whenever his Master, Thirteen, took over his body, Rocky would observe and learn from his Master.
Since they were connected, everything Zion did was ingrained in his body and mind, as if Rocky was the one fighting against Azothrall.
It was a surreal experience, and perhaps Zion did it that way so that he could impart a fighting style to the Magma Bal-Boa that complemented its abilities.
Despite being in a disadvantageous position, Rocky learned at a very fast rate.
As minutes turned to hours, and hours turned to days, the Magma Bal-Boa was crawling on a tightrope, pushing itself to the limit.
From time to time, Rocky would tell its Master to rest, and leave everything in his hands.
The Magma Bal-Boa knew that his Master had already gone above and beyond his abilities to keep him safe, as well as teach him how to fight.
Now that he had mastered a new fighting style, Rocky was confident that even if he couldn't beat his enemy, his enemy would at least not be able to beat him either.
Thirteen could feel the confidence starting to form in Rocky's heart and mind, making him finally feel at ease.
Knowing that he was also truly at his limit, he let go of his control over Rocky's body and allowed Shana to hold him in her embrace.
The Saintess did everything in her power to help the teenage boy recover, allowing him to sleep for nearly a week after relinquishing his control to Rocky.
During that tense time period, Rocky and Azothrall fought relentlessly against each other.
The Alien-like Monster was still a living being who felt exhaustion, so it didn't fight Rocky every day.
Every time Azothrall retreated, Rocky would rest by hiding himself within the river of Magma, ready to fight the moment his enemy came into contact with it.
If Zion was awake, he would notice that Rocky's body had several cracks in it.
These cracks weren't from the beating that he received from the Alien-like Monster.
No, it was a natural occurrence, a sign that Rocky was about to break through to the next Rank.
The battle experience it gained from staking its life on the line to fight a stronger opponent forced its evolution.
When he saw the strongest Monster serving Thirteen on the cusp of evolving, Metatron smiled faintly. He didn't think that this calamity would turn into a blessing.
Using the river of magma as its forge and furnace, the Magma Bal-Boa waited patiently for its foe to return, so the two of them could once again fight each other.
It no longer ran away, and instead, held its ground.
Clearly, Rocky was very eager to take that next step in its evolution.
Before Thirteen fell into a deep sleep, he said something to Rocky, which allowed the latter to gain confidence in itself.
"As long as you fight in the River of Magma, you will not die because you and the river are one and the same," Thirteen said. "Our opponent is not invincible, and it also needs to eat and sleep. Use this opportunity to learn how to fight stronger opponents without fearing death."
And that was what Rocky did.
He fought, fought, and fought some more.
By now, Azothrall was already disgusted due to the fact that his opponent didn't die even if its entire body was thoroughly destroyed.
Perhaps, it also understood that as long as Rocky was in the River of Magma, it would be unkillable.
However, Azothrall couldn't really do anything about it. It wasn't like he could ask Solterra to stop producing Magma and let it kill the annoying monster that had taken its Queen hostage! Not to mention, it wasn't supposed to exist in this world.
Frustrated and helpless, the Alien-like Monster didn't know if it should just give up and look for another Queen to breed or continue fighting against the Magma Bal-Boa who no longer feared it.
But whenever it planned to fight its opponent one last time, Rocky would growl and roar at Azothrall, taunting it repeatedly, which made the newborn unwilling to let it slide.
Rocky had called Azothrall a weakling because it couldn't even kill him despite the fact that he was weaker than it.
This made the Alien-like Monster feel humiliated, which led to it being unable to stop itself from fighting Rocky over and over again.
It didn't know that Rocky was merely using it as a whetstone to become stronger, allowing one of Thirteen's loyal supporters to evolve to the next level.
Finally, after nearly three weeks of fighting, the cracks on Rocky's body spread to the rest of his body, making the Magma Bal-Boa roar in triumph.
His body doubled in size, making him a hundred-meter-long monster.
While its body was still blazing with flames, a single glance was enough to tell that the Magma Bal-Boa was very different from its previous appearance.
Aside from its size, its body no longer looked as if it was made of rocks.
No.
Rocky's body was now made of Diamonds, making its body shine brighter as the flames danced across its surface.
If Thirteen was awake, he would definitely give Rocky a big thumbs up for evolving into a monster that not only boasted high firepower but also great physical prowess.
Half an hour after its evolution, Azothrall once again appeared to fight it.
However, it was greeted by Rocky's full-powered tail strike, which made the Monster who bullied it in the past scream in pain, as its body crashed to the ground.
Now, Rocky was no longer the hunted.
Even if the other party was a peak Rank 8 Monster, while it was only in the Initial Stages of being a Rank 8, the Hellfire Bal-Boa no longer feared its opponent.
This time, it would be the one giving Azothrall a beating for making his Master suffer from its relentless pursuit.
