Chapter 27: Seven New Continents and a Return to a Realm
The seven continents were named:
1.Deep Hollow
2. Dark Shell
3. Waking Light
4. Dark Peak
5. Ash Wall
6. Wither Mar
7. Shatter Lake
Fasarians from all over the realm flocked to the abyss continents. They were a people that craved and thrived in the dark. They usually lived on the underside of the sky continents while a few, like Zolon, lived above in the brilliant light.
Now they had the abyss. Many decided to continue to live under sky continents but all those that lived on the top side of the continents moved to the abyss continents.
The abyss continents were different from those of the sky. They were tethered to land masses and did not float freely within the abyss. Where the realm placed them within the realm was their permanent place.
The continents and abyss were connected by unique forces. Some natural to the abyss and others created by the realm.
Rachel had to talk the realm into creating connections, in the form of vast bridges, between the abyss continents to make the transition for the new residents easier.
The bridges between the continents were covered in a translucent material that could be seen through inside the bridge-tunnels but once outside it looked like a dense black ebony material.
A person could walk to their destination or telepathically tell the bridge what continent they wanted to go to and the bridge teleported the person or group of people to their destination.
The bridges could also teleport into the abyss itself, but the coordinates needed to be known and it needed to be deemed a safe location.
Rachel had visited each new continent in the first five days. She wanted to make sure all was safe for the people of the realm and she was a bit curious of the terrain. She especially liked Wither Mar and made a mental note to train on its sea floor.
With the exception of three all of the continents were in areas deemed safe zones. Dark Peak, Wither Mar, and Shatter Lake were all in areas unknown to the people of the realm. They were also the most intriguing and Rachel could hardly wait to explore them all.
But she had to wait.
There were many unique features within each continent. And she promised herself to complete fate maps of all seven continents when she returned from Ambruce.
Ambruce was the realm that Rachel left when Cramnal called her to help Anis. A broad dark cherry wood door appeared. It was within a deep arch of grey wood etched in intricate runes.
Rachel, her Antrunie, and Cramnal stepped through the door.
When the exited on the other side she looked at all of the multicolored herbs that grew as she ran through this ancient forest. She was deep in thought, staring at the herbs, when the door slammed behind them.
They all slowly turned as one to see the door disappear. "That has never happened before."
Rachel looked at the arch perplexed. "Agreed. I told you that this realm is odd. Look at all the herbs that grew in my path. I feel some are okay but others are deadly."
She looked at Smral as she ended. "I agree Milana. I can sense ailments and death from a few of them." Smral smiled. "Can I collect some of them?"
She nodded as she cast a spell to release the area from the time spell. "Collect them all. I am interested in the red and yellow ones."
Smral walked eagerly towards the path as Rachel turned back to the door.
Rebecca collected herbs with Smral and Cramnal examined the door with Rachel. Struns stood guard.
"Do you know how this realm corrupted grandmother?"
"Yes. She slept in a deep cave on the black mountain. While she slept she had a dream she made promises she should never have made."
"Promises?" Cramnal stopped looking at the door and looked at Rachel in confusion.
Her hands moved over the arch. It was warm in some places and freezing in others.
Quite perplexing.
"Yes. You know our realm is sentient and the outer realms usually have undeveloped conscience? Well the realm entered her dream and spoke to her but it presented to her as someone in her life and she had a real life conversation. For some reason she did not notice that it was a dream."
Rachel looked to Struns. "Let's get started."
Smral and Rebecca appeared with the group and they all used movement techniques simultaneously.
They moved toward the black mountain to find the cave Lanncey found and slept in. On this planet there was a mountain range and each mountain had a distinct color.
Ambruce is a relatively young dimension and could be considered the offspring of the Trannisa realm. One day it may have a conscience of its own and decide if it wants to stay connected or sever its connection with Trannisa.
They used movement abilities but they did not teleport or traverse dimensions. They were all powerful so they easily stayed with each other.
When they reached a blood red mountain they set up camp and explored the mountain outward from the camp in a ring.
On this mountain they found a lake of deep green water. The water had sorcery energy and was able to hold, cast, and alter spells innately.
Rachel wanted to explore the planet to understand it. She already had her grandmother's memories so she knew her grandmother only went to the grey, blue, and black mountains. She also knew that Lanncey entered through a door that opened in the grey mountains. The door Cramnal opened was in a wide valley between the red mountain and the grey mountain.
The next morning was just as uneventful. They explored the white mountain and found many unique herbs, plants, and fruits. It was a broad mountain that had white rock and little ground cover. It made it easy to find the unique flora there. For some reason the plants on this mountain were all miniature species.
"An abundance of plant life and not a single animal? That is not normal."
"There are animals Smral. There are insects and I have seen small animals similar to foxes and rodents and I have seen birds as well."
Rachel watched as Smral and Rebecca casually talked. She found it interesting that Rebecca was so friendly with him already. She understood because she knew Rebecca and she talked to Rebecca everyday. But for it to happen so quickly was a bit interesting.
Rachel looked at Smral. She knew he was not behaving in a malicious way at anytime. She also knew he was honestly enjoying his life now. Rachel could feel it. It was like he was alone all his life and now he found a family to be with.
When they made it to the black mountain the blood froze in their veins. They all looked up at the mountain with a need to flee. Each fought this instinctive feeling in different ways.
"Grandmother slept here?"
Struns nodded with a shiver. "Your grandmother was the strongest Milana before Rachel came along." He looked at Rachel.
She shook her head. "I don't want to sleep there. I don't even want to step foot on this mountain."
She turned her back to the mountain, walked ten paces and sat down cross-legged. "Let's see what we can find out."
Rachel closed her eyes and began to mediate. She decided to soul walk. She was unsure about the realm and did not trust her astral projection to be safe within it, but she had a strong soul and she knew how to use her spirit to increase that strength.
Smral was the first to stand guard but he did so by standing next to her and surrounding them both in layers of soul energy. The others fell into positions to ensure nothing happened to Rachel's body.
Rachel's soul rose gracefully from her body and stood before Smral. She saw dazzling light that pierced her brain. He smiled at her.
'Walk Milana. I will be behind you at all times. You are my future I will not allow anything to happen to you.'
She physically nodded as her soul body turned and walked into a shining silver crystal door.
