Swapped With A Goddess: Now I Have To Deal With The Demon Lord's Harem

On The Run

I've been on the run for the last two hours, and I have to give it to Alex, her body is not only sexy as hell but sturdy too.

Thanks to the braids, neither my extreme-long hair nor the fluffy tail gets in the way.

Her breasts are so firm, they only bounce a little on the go. And I don't have a bra.

It's hard not to become jealous, I don't want to give her body back.

My original body would not be able to pull this off. I'd be dead if I tried to run this far in a forest.

First off, I couldn't see crap, and my ankles would break after a couple of steps.

Second, I'd be out of breath after ten minutes.

No matter how long my legs were, they kept tangling together to trip me up even on flat ground.

In comparison, I still don't feel tired.

Well, I also woke up sore after the first battle. Let's reevaluate this tomorrow, until then, running with Mabel in my arms is easy.

She's super light, despite being an Orc.

If anything, she keeps cheering me on, which is adorable, even if not very wise.

"The Goddess is so fast!" The excited gleam never loses its shine in her eyes, even though it's way past her bedtime. And, well, she's not wrong.

The two brutes chased us for a while, but I no longer heard their voices in the last hour. Since these cat ears can pick up anything, we must have lost them.

The swamp had its safe passages marked, and with my little expert in hand, it was easy to navigate. She's way more useful than the System.

I can't believe it doesn't even have a map. You'd assume the game knows where we are, but no.

[Notice: This is a pre-alpha version made by the Goddess of Luck.]

Sure, sure. So far it's no more than a hectic AI to keep me company. And it sometimes offers a random quest with no rewards but death as a penalty. Come on.

[Notice: The rewards are a surprise. They're hidden.]

No, they're not, you are making shit up. It's not how motivation works. You must flash a good reward and get your players to reach it.

Instead of, you know, saying do this or die.

Whatever, she got me into enough trouble already. I can't believe I listened to her idea to kidnap Mabel. It happened in the heat of the moment, and let's say I tried to protect her, rather than take her away.

But she's well protected for the last two hours when we finally reach the lake she mentioned. It's much larger than I expected.

"Is it where you kids tend to play?" Considering how far we've come from the village it's hard to believe.

"Or do you come out here when the adults are fishing?"

"There are no fish in the lake, this is the water reservoir to the Old Capital." She explains like an expert. Where did she learn words like that at her age?

"Slimes keep it clean and also eat all the fish."

"Oh, so that's how it works?" Fantasy science at its best. "So the Capital is near?"

"Yes, once you go around the lake and follow the pipes, you could be there in an hour at this pace."

Hmm. What could the Capital look like?

[New Quest: Explore the Old Capital.]

Wait, no, come on. I only thought about it. This is a bad idea. Alex's troops had caused plenty of trouble already. Imagine what could happen in the Capital.

Besides, why would I take your missions? You're yet to offer rewards.

[Quest updated: Explore the Old Capital, reward: +1000 Exp]

Exp, huh? Are a thousand a lot? I don't even know how much I have. I must have gotten some for defeating those Orcs on the first day.

Fighting these two brutes again today should've provided some too. If it did, the System never mentioned it.

[Notice: You need 900 Exp to level up.]

Oh? Do I, now? Aren't you making those numbers up on the go? I hate to admit it, but the premise of leveling up does make me curious.

What are the benefits?

[Notice: Through leveling, you gain skill points. Higher attributes and abilities can unlock too.]

I wish I knew how it worked. Does the System limit what the body can do and unlocks these limits as I reach a higher level?

It's tempting, but let's not forget that she suggested using Mabel as a shield. Or that I kill her maker's soldiers. The System is mental. I would be dumb to trust it.

[Quest updated: Explore the Old Capital, reward: +1000 Exp and Strawberry Ice Cream.]

Ooh, that's dirty. How did she know that's my favorite flavor? Well, of course, she knows, because she read my mind this whole time. Ugh, it's not fair.

It's better than when she threatened me with death if I leaked some info, but still.

[Quest updated: Explore the Old Capital, reward: +1000 Exp and Strawberry Ice Cream. Penalty on failure: Death.]

Ah, here we go. I should stop giving her ideas.

"Hey, Mabel, can you show me the way to the Capital?" I give in and ask the little one in my arms. She is starting to get drowsy, it must be past midnight already.

Her eyes flutter and she smiles.

"Sure, follow the shore until you reach the pipes." She yawns, pointing her tiny hand ahead.

"This is as far as the tribesmen come out, so I'm sure Charlotte won't follow you there."

That is good to know.

"So why do you kids come out this far?" I ask before she falls back to sleep.

"To swim. And... To catch the slimes." She yawns again, and she's out of it. Damn, I'm jealous. I was never such a good sleeper.

Even in perfect quiet, darkness, and a comfortable bed, it used to take me hours to fall asleep. She's rocking in my arms while I run as fast as possible, and still manages.
