Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Home!
Three months passed in the blink of an eye. The pure black spaceship drifted quietly through the dark expanse of the universe. Inside the control room, Ye Yun, A Long, and A Hu sat cross-legged, facing each other. A blue-gold crystal floated between them, emanating the power of the law of water. The trio remained in deep concentration, feeling the energy radiating from the crystal.
After some time, Ye Yun slowly opened his eyes, and the water domain naturally expanded around him. The nine-layer water domain pulsed with immense power. After three months of intense training, Ye Yun had finally mastered the water domain up to the ninth level!
Just as he was about to retract the domain, something shifted. The world before him seemed to change. A gentle, soothing water energy filled the universe, making him feel comfortable—like a baby in its mother's warm embrace. Ye Yun was momentarily lost in this sensation, as his water domain rippled. In that moment, he caught a glimpse of the artistic conception of the law of water, stepping into its deeper understanding.
As he embraced this newfound comprehension, the world looked entirely different. The energy of the water element dominated his perception, making the other laws seem distant and suppressed. Though still accessible, they were harder to grasp.
'So it's true,' Ye Yun thought. 'They say that once you've deeply understood one lower-level law and advanced to immortality, your grasp of other laws becomes fuzzy. Even though I'm still at the star level, I'm already experiencing this. It's no wonder.'
Ye Yun knew that the universe's rules favored focus. Once one transcends to immortality, honing a single law strengthens that path while restricting others. If one concentrated on this path, they would be more likely to break through to immortality. Though Ye Yun felt some obstacles, they didn't seem insurmountable. With his exceptional talent for understanding laws, he believed that with more time, he could master all eight lower laws in the realm of the master.
After calming himself, Ye Yun stored away the water domain, feeling a sudden shift in his aura. He now seemed like the very center of the universe, absorbing the surrounding light. He exuded both extreme brilliance and darkness, two contrasting forces manifesting in one being.
Ye Yun had also recently acquired He Hong's talent for the law of light. With his own experiences, Ye Yun had finally mastered the first level of the light domain. While his progress in the light domain was slower than in the water domain, achieving this at the stellar level already surpassed most other star-level powerhouses.
While reflecting on his progress, a sudden energy fluctuation emerged from A Long and A Hu, signaling a significant change. Ye Yun immediately understood and ordered the spaceship to slow down and return to their original universe. The hatch opened, and A Long and A Hu were ejected into space.
A Long and A Hu's bodies were undergoing a transformation, one far different from Ye Yun's perception of law fluctuations. They were evolving on a genetic level, breaking through to a higher life stage. Though they had already reached the peak of the stellar level, this marked their transition toward the cosmic level.
Watching from inside the spaceship, Ye Yun smiled with satisfaction. He had specifically asked A Long and A Hu to study the law of water together, using the blue-gold crystal to aid their practice. Three months later, they had accumulated enough power to take this major step.
While the transition from stellar to cosmic level may only seem like one step, the difference between them was immense. Cosmic-level beings held greater power in the universe, and such entities were rare—only one would typically arise in a galaxy.
Ye Yun had no doubts about the Hu Ya tribe's compatibility with the blue-gold crystal. He had obtained this treasure from the tribe, and he had no hesitation in using it to help A Long and A Hu. He planned to continue supporting their growth in the future.
However, Ye Yun was no fool. Anyone he trained must be loyal to him, so in addition to the biological chips implanted in their minds, Ye Yun planned to use a soul seal to ensure their unwavering allegiance. Even if A Long and A Hu became strong enough to reach the domain lord level or higher, they would remain his loyal subordinates, not a threat.
After some time, the energy fluctuations surrounding A Long and A Hu began to subside. The two of them opened their eyes simultaneously, blue light surging in their gaze, their strength radiating.
When they re-entered the spaceship, Ye Yun immediately noticed the strong water element fluctuations surrounding them. This confirmed that they had formed the beginnings of their own domain. With further training and comprehension, they would soon master their own water domains.
Ye Yun also recognized that it wasn't just the blue-gold crystal at work; the innate talent of the Hu Ya tribe had played a crucial role in their advancement. In the past, the Hu Ya tribe had been able to produce cosmic-level powerhouses on a regular basis. Had they not been enslaved, they might have long since given birth to domain lord-level beings. Ye Yun wasn't surprised at their progress.
Clapping A Long and A Hu on the shoulder, Ye Yun praised them, "You've lived up to my training. How are you progressing with the secret method I gave you?"
A Long responded softly, "The secret method you gave us is unlike anything we've encountered before. We still have a lot to learn, and there are many parts that confuse us."
Ye Yun nodded. He had asked Momoyu to pass on the Yunmo Star's secret method to A Long and A Hu, aiming to strengthen their foundations.
"Don't worry about it. If you have questions, just ask Momoyu," Ye Yun reassured them.
As he arranged for further training, Ye Yun's mind drifted back to Earth. It had been nearly a year since he left, and he wondered how things had changed.
Memories surged within him, overwhelming him with homesickness. Taking a deep breath, Ye Yun called out, "Momoyu, change course. Cancel the previous plan. We're heading to Earth! We're going home!"
March 14, 2058, Earth time.
After over two months of traveling through the dark universe, the Heilongshan-X81 spaceship finally reached the coordinates near Earth. With Momoyu's precise navigation, the spaceship navigated through a complex route before entering the solar system and approaching the familiar blue planet.
The coordinates to Earth had been hidden by Hu Yanbo using secret spatial techniques. Without advanced knowledge of space law, it would have been nearly impossible to arrive directly through the dark universe. Instead, the spaceship had to travel through a wormhole and then make its way toward Earth.
'Finally, I'm home,' Ye Yun thought as the spacecraft crossed through the atmosphere and hovered over the Pacific Ocean. He turned to A Hu and instructed, "A Hu, take your people and find an uninhabited island to settle temporarily. A Long, come with me!"
Initially, Ye Yun had planned to find a new life planet for the Hu Ya tribe, but he realized that he wanted to keep a close eye on their development. So, he decided to temporarily settle them on Earth.
A Hu nodded in agreement, grateful for Ye Yun's decision. Ye Yun then took A Long and flew toward Jiangnan Base City in China.
Along the way, Ye Yun instructed Momoyu to connect to Earth's network and gather information on the current situation. Smiling, he said to A Long, "Honestly, your people could easily dominate Earth!"
With most of the Hu Ya tribe being planetary-level beings, they would easily surpass Earth's strongest warriors, including the God of War.
After a moment, Momoyu spoke up, "Dad, Earth hasn't changed much in the past year. However, there is one thing you might be interested in. Luo Feng entered Ruins No. 9 five months ago and hasn't come out. The Extreme Martial Arts School believes he may have died, but there's no official confirmation."
Ye Yun's expression remained calm. He knew Luo Feng was undergoing a dangerous mission in the No. 9 ruins, and it would take nearly a year for him to return. He wasn't concerned.
He nodded, then added, "Momoyu, look up information on Gu Ye and Wei Wen."
"Gu Ye is a new councillor-level expert from the Extreme Martial Arts School, now serving as the sixth inspector with first-level planetary strength. He's stationed at the headquarters. Wei Wen, a mid-level warrior, is part of the 'Nailhead' team and is currently in Yangzhou City."
Ye Yun's attention was drawn to Wei Wen, and soon he was at a quiet villa in the Mingyue community of Yangzhou City. When the door opened, Wei Wen, now older with a beard and a scar on his face, stood before him.
Surprise quickly faded into anger as Ye Yun asked, "Awen, who did this to you?"
Wei Wen greeted Ye Yun with joy, but soon the sadness took over. "I'm glad you're back, but Luo Feng…"
Ye Yun, feeling the sorrow of his old friend, reassured him. "Luo Feng is fine. But tell me, what happened to your arm? If someone did this to you, they'll face the consequences."
Wei Wen explained the events that led to his injury during a wilderness expedition, where his team was ambushed by high-level beast generals. He believed someone had intentionally set up the attack.
Ye Yun's suspicion grew. "Awen, don't you think something's off? You were tracking one high-level beast general, but you encountered three unexpectedly. Doesn't that seem strange?"
"Ayun, I can't hide it anything from you. Our team decided to attack that high-level beast general after a thorough investigation. We carefully researched which high-level beast generals were in the area. We wouldn't have put ourselves in such a dangerous situation unless we were certain.
To be honest, we even had information on the three high-level beast generals that attacked us. The area they were in was far from where we were chasing our target. When we saw those three beasts, we all realized they must have been deliberately guided by someone with ulterior motives."
Ye Yun listened to Wei Wen's analysis and couldn't help but feel that his childhood friend had truly grown into a capable warrior. He sighed inwardly and then smirked.
"Awen, you must have someone you suspect, right?"
Wei Wen met Ye Yun's gaze, and the frustration and sadness that had built up over the past month suddenly surged.
"It's the 'Cang Hui' team from the Thunder and Lightning Martial Arts School. After my captain and I escaped, we saw them following us back. I even noticed a hint of 'regret' on their faces. Before this hunt, they had been hovering around our team. I thought it was odd, but now with everything that happened, I'm not sure what to think."
Ye Yun extended his right hand, and a bright, virtual 3D display appeared above his watch, showing images of five people. He spoke calmly.
"Awen, these are the members of the 'Canghui' team from the Raiden Martial Arts School, right?"
Wei Wen nodded in confirmation.
"Ah Wen, just focus on recovering. Leave the rest to me."
