Swallowed Star: The Sacred Eye of Duplication

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Decisive Battle in Space

The pressure around the three warriors increased instantly, freezing their movements mid-air. In that brief moment, they could only watch as delicate fish-like projections pierced their heads. The intense pain flared briefly before disappearing. Fear and horror lingered in their eyes as their life force vanished completely. Their bodies fell to the ground with a heavy thud.

"With the blessing of the Seventh Domain, it's truly possible to crush a star-level warrior without a domain," Ye Yun thought.

Usually, even cosmic-level warriors rarely possess a domain. Those who do are considered rare geniuses among millions. The domain is the first step in mastering the laws of the universe. Normally, one must reach the level of a domain master before comprehending the domain, and only after that can they grasp the laws. This is the usual path to power.

As Ye Yun compared himself to those monstrous geniuses who had crossed the threshold of the laws, he felt he still had many shortcomings. Yet, when facing most star-level warriors, he felt no pressure.

After easily dispatching the three star-level Bahe Star Lords, Ye Yun remained unmoved. He returned his soft water gun to his back, stretched lazily, and said softly, "Along, Ahu, let's go."

Ye Yun had no interest in Bahe Star's future developments. News of the deaths of these three would spread quickly, and without the suppression of their military power, the future of Bahe Star would be up to its people.

The past few months had been fulfilling for Ye Yun as he traveled the universe. Unfortunately, aside from the two cosmic-level slaves from Aaron's tribe, he hadn't encountered any other cosmic-level beings, leaving him little opportunity to test his abilities.

"After all this time, I wonder how far I've come in the decisive battle space," Ye Yun thought.

Back aboard the spaceship, Ye Yun entered the virtual universe and headed to the Black Dragon Mountain Island's Killing Ground Hall. It was sparsely populated as usual. He made his way to the counter and, this time, chose to enter the "Decisive Battle Space" rather than the Killing Space. The fees for the Decisive Battle Space were only one-tenth of those of the Killing Space at the same level.

While the Killing Space simulates opponents for training, the Decisive Battle Space matches users with real opponents. It allows for a direct test of combat effectiveness between warriors of the same rank.

Ye Yun's profile still showed "First-level Star, No Domain" since he hadn't participated in enough battles to advance. He selected a first-level, one-star opponent named Shadow Thorn, who had a record of 16 wins and 8 losses. After issuing the challenge three times, Shadow Thorn accepted.

In an instant, Ye Yun was teleported to a vast grassland with a black metal arena in the center. Ye Yun entered the arena, and his opponent, a man in gray with a thick mask, appeared across from him. Before the battle began, a low, hoarse voice rang out.

"The Fairy in the Clouds? You're a rookie who doesn't know your limits. I rejected you twice, yet you persist. I'll show you the fear of death's shadow."

With that, Shadow Thorn disappeared, using his special ability related to the Law of Light to bend light and become invisible—hence his nickname, Shadow Assassin.

Ye Yun smiled, calmly raised his soft water gun, and jabbed it forward lightly, breaking the illusions. Shadow Thorn's figure emerged, a stunned expression on his face as blood gushed from the wound in his chest. His eyes slowly dimmed.

The first battle was an easy win.

Although Ye Yun had focused mainly on his spiritual cultivation, he hadn't neglected his warrior training. His physical strength had steadily improved, and thanks to the martial arts secrets from Yunmo Star, he was considered a powerful star-level warrior. However, his spiritual abilities surpassed his martial prowess.

Shadow Thorn's reliance on light-related abilities played right into Ye Yun's hands. His superior perception allowed him to easily see through the illusion without relying on his domain or mental powers. A swift, precise strike sealed Shadow Thorn's fate.

Without breaking a sweat, Ye Yun continued to challenge one-star opponents. After three more victories, he was upgraded to one star. After 30 more battles, his rating reached two stars. Ye Yun never used his domain or mental powers, relying on his third-tier soft water gun and martial strength alone.

After a streak of 100 consecutive wins, his rating reached three stars. His perfect record soon caught the attention of higher-ranked warriors. They saw that Ye Yun was a newcomer, and many sent him challenges.

In his 156th match, Ye Yun faced Ghost Blade, a six-star warrior with a record of 678 wins and 186 losses. The battle was tough, but in the end, Ye Yun showed respect and activated his first-level water field, delivering the final blow.

With Ghost Blade defeated, Ye Yun's rating rose to four stars, and his possession of the water domain was noted. This only attracted more challengers. After winning 300 more games, Ye Yun's rating climbed to seven stars.

The virtual battles had exhausted him mentally, but they also gave him a clearer sense of his strength. In the Decisive Battle Space, all his opponents were from the Black Dragon Mountain Star Field. He felt confident that he could sweep through the entire field. However, compared to the geniuses of the entire Qianwu Universe, there was still a significant gap. Without fully mastering the laws, he wouldn't even be in the top 1,000 stellar geniuses of the universe.

For the next month, Ye Yun continued to train and fight in the Decisive Battle Space. However, as his star level rose, the pool of challengers shrank. After three hundred battles, Ye Yun was only able to fight a handful of new opponents. Yet each battle grew more intense, pushing him to his limits.

"Hmm? No name? 560 wins, 0 losses?"

Ye Yun waited for a long time, but no one accepted his invitation. Just then, he received a challenge from Wuming. After checking the message, Ye Yun smiled and clicked "OK."

In the familiar decisive battle space, Ye Yun and a woman in white materialized at the same time. The two locked eyes in silence before immediately launching into battle.

The woman also wielded a spear, but it was much longer than Ye Yun's soft water spear. Despite being a woman, her spear skills were incredibly fierce. She attacked relentlessly, her powerful strikes seemingly aimed at shattering everything in her path.

Ye Yun remained cautious, not underestimating her for a moment. He activated the second level of the water field, and instantly, the entire environment felt as though it had submerged into the depths of the ocean. Within this domain, Ye Yun's abilities were amplified, elevating every aspect of his combat to its peak.

Meanwhile, the woman found herself trapped within the heavy grip of the water field. Her movements slowed significantly, preventing her from executing her powerful spear techniques. Instead, she struggled against Ye Yun's soft yet relentless attacks.

Suddenly, Ye Yun heard a sharp whistling sound in his ears, and his control over the surroundings weakened. Around the woman, gusts of wind began to swirl, freeing her from the water field's grip. A strong wind began to sweep outward, threatening to cover Ye Yun's body.

Empowered by the wind field, the woman's speed skyrocketed. She appeared next to Ye Yun in an instant, stabbing her spear directly at his heart. The force of the strike was immense, and Ye Yun felt the wind field integrated into the weapon, the gusts tugging at his face as if tearing at his skin.

In that moment, the woman gave everything she had, the triple wind field blessing her spear. Her single strike seemed to have Ye Yun cornered, as though he was trapped in a deadly deadlock.
