Chapter 159: Secret techniques selection

Wang Yi browsed through the treasure house listings. He ignored the other categories and directly clicked on "Secret Techniques."

Search: "Flame Star Beast Techniques."

As a member of the Primal Secret Realm, Wang Yi had access to significantly higher authority, allowing him to search for more advanced resources.

In an instant, the screen displayed an extensive list of search results.

The Virtual Universe Company, one of the five most powerful factions in the human domain, had existed for an unimaginably long time. Over the course of its history, it had accumulated countless treasures, resources, technologies, and secrets from other races. These secrets formed the foundation of its immense power. Even techniques that humans could not practice were archived here for study or trade.

One such secret method, Flame Star Beast Techniques, could be exchanged for 8 million points. (Primal Secret Realm members received a 30% discount, Absolute Beginning Secret Realm members 20%, Heaven and Earth Secret Realm members 10%, while those in the Last Phase Secret Realm paid full price.)

Another secret techniques, Space Domain, could be exchanged for 7.8 million points, following the same tiered discount structure.

Each page introduced a hundred secret techniques, with dozens of pages available to scroll through.

These were the long-standing secrets of the Flame Star Beast clan. Some were powerful techniques created by super beings of the Flame Star Beast species, tailored to their unique characteristics. Others were techniques acquired from other parts of the universe and refined by the Flame Star Beast experts.

When a Flame Star Beast was enslaved by a powerful human practitioner, these secrets naturally fell into the hands of the human race. However, since humans could not practice many of these techniques, their primary value lay in trading them with other species in need.

The human race, as one of the super races at the pinnacle of the universe, had accumulated an incredible wealth of knowledge over countless years. Anything Wang Yi could think of seemed to be available here.

There were nearly 3,800 secret techniques suitable for Flame Star Beast cultivation. Among them, 21 were categorized as special secret methods, while 3,756 were considered common techniques.

However, they were prohibitively expensive. The most costly special technique, The Change of the Stars, required 8 million points. Wang Yi could only look at it with envy, as he could not afford it.

The Virtual Universe Company clearly understood that only a select few could afford such high-priced techniques, which explained the steep cost.

"This is the downside of not taking over the body or absorbing the original owner's soul," Wang Yi thought helplessly. "Without inherited memories, I have no secret methods to practice."

He sighed. "Even King Zhenyan, a near-invincible immortal close to the level of a Universe Venerable, only needed 800,000 points for his strongest creation. A typical Venerable's secret method costs around 1 million points. And yet, this Flame Star Beast technique costs a staggering 8 million…"

The excitement Wang Yi felt from recently acquiring 100,000 free credits vanished entirely.

"Blank Star Transformation and Space Domain are both perfectly suited for my Flame Star Beast avatar. Their cultivation would result in a qualitative transformation of its strength. However, I lack the points—far from enough," Wang Yi thought as he read through the descriptions. His eyes reddened slightly with frustration.

He felt as if the word "poor" was stamped on his forehead.

"There's only one way to earn enough points quickly," Wang Yi realized. "I must break through the Tong Tian Bridge. Newcomers training in Chaos City for over 30 years receive ten times the usual rewards!"

Normally, passing each level of the bridge awarded 100, 200, or more points. With the tenfold bonus, these would become 1,000, 2,000, and so on.

"However, the difficulty of the Tong Tian Bridge increases dramatically with each level. Even in Bolan's story, he only managed to pass the sixth level within 30 years. The seventh level? That's far from certain."

"Even if I pass the sixth level, with the tenfold reward, it's only 32,000 points," Wang Yi calculated grimly. "And aside from that, the only other source of substantial points is the cosmic genius cultivation tasks, which I can only attempt after leaving Chaos City."

For now, Wang Yi reluctantly set aside his desire to purchase secret methods for the Flame Star Beast.

He still had his human body and Void Zerg race avatar, both of which needed secret techniques to advance.

The Void Zerg clone was akin to Luo Feng's Mosha clone, born from a secret talent technique but lacking inherited memories. Despite its immense potential, it relied solely on its instincts in battle and lacked an effective combat secret method.

The Void Zerg race excelled in combat styles resembling warriors or, more specifically, assassins—masters of stealth and lethal, sudden strikes.

After careful consideration of the Void Zerg's strengths, Wang Yi chose a close-combat method similar to Luo Feng's Hidden Shadow Secret Manual, which cost 4,000 points, and 3,000 Starry Sky, a sword technique worth 5,700 points. These techniques complemented each other, offering an elusive movement style paired with devastating sword strikes.

With these purchases, he spent nearly 10,000 points. Fortunately, weapons and armor for the Void Zerg had already been provided, saving additional expenses.

As for his human body, Wang Yi decided not to rush into purchasing a secret method.

His human form would eventually train with the Universe Chaos Stele in Chaos City. Wang Yi recalled that Luo Feng, in another timeline, was initially unaware of the Floating Blood Sword Classic, a foundational technique that helped comprehend the Nine Universe Chaos Stele. Due to this lack of knowledge and insufficient points, Luo Feng couldn't purchase it in time and had to seek alternative methods to learn it.

With this in mind, Wang Yi speculated: "If there's a basic secret method like Floating Blood Sword Classic for the Nine Universe Chaos Stele, there must be a similar technique to aid in comprehending the Universe Chaos Stele."

He resolved not to waste the three years it would take to reach Chaos City.

After some thought, Wang Yi summoned Jakes, the green-skinned, bald, and muscular immortal who served as the head of his manor's guards.

"Your Highness, what are your orders?" Jakes asked respectfully.

"I want to know if there's a secret method that can help me practice and understand the first few images of the Universe Chaos Stele," Wang Yi asked without pretense.

Jakes's eyes lit up in understanding. "Your Highness, you intend to train with the Universe Chaos Stele? Impressive ambition! I do know of a related secret method. It's no secret within the Virtual Universe Company. To comprehend the first three images of the Universe Chaos Stele, you can use the foundational technique of the universe genre: the Gallery Knife Catalogue."

"Galaxy Blade Catalogue?" Wang Yi repeated, intrigued.

"Yes," Jakes said with a hint of awe. "It's a basic secret method of the universe genre, focusing on the first three images of the Universe Chaos Stele. It costs 80,000 points to exchange."

"Eighty thousand?" Wang Yi's heart sank.

Jakes nodded. "The technique was created by Kedi, a legendary genius of the Virtual Universe Company, many eras ago."

"Kedi?" Wang Yi's head shot up, startled.
