chapter 1
1 – Uninhabited island when I woke up (1)
When Chester opened his eyes, he felt the hot sand and lifted himself up.
“Ugh!”
The first thing Chester saw when he got up was the clear and transparent blue sea, where he could see the corals and the fish dancing there.
From there, I turned my head in the opposite direction, and there was a dense forest that radiated vivid greenery under the sunlight and made me feel the vitality of fresh life.
“Kuk!”
Chester lay down next to him and grabbed the villainous young lady’s hair, who was still sleeping under the effects of the sleeping pills.
“Ugh?! Ouch?!”
Grabbing her hair, Chester ran half-creeping down the sand and into the shade of the trees in the forest.
“Aagh!”
Chester, who had abandoned the villain halfway the moment he entered the shade, took off his butler’s clothes while breathing heavily from the heat and sudden movement.
“I still haven’t taken off my clothes.”
“it hurts! it hurts! I’m sick?! Who the hell made a noble body like mine feel pain?!”
Chester saw the villainous young lady screaming as if she was still unaware of reality.
The eldest daughter of the only ducal family in the kingdom that he served, Monia.
She is isolated from her family, so she is just Monia, except for the ducal family name or many other names that modify her.
“It’s not a good choice to consume that much stamina in a place like this.”
“what?! Me, speak plain words to me! Aren’t you worth your life?!”
“You said honorifics because your life was precious, and you gave your loyalty and worked hard because you gave money, but you don’t have power, money, or power anymore, do you? How does it feel to be the beggar you’ve been ignoring? No, don’t you have the brain to realize and think about it?”
“Mu, mu, mu, mu, mu… … !”
Monia’s face turned red at the insulting words she had never heard in her life.
“you! I’ll kill you! Is anybody there?!”
“Look around you, lady. What could be here?”
At Chester’s words, Monia finally widened her vision, which had been narrowed by pain, and looked around.
And finally, she recalled the memories before taking the sleeping pills and realized what had become of them.
* * *
It was a truly hellish sight for Monia.
The beloved fiancée gave her a look of contempt and disgust and hugged the filthy commoner cattle tightly.
“I will accept the sins you have committed until now, Monia!”
crime?
sin?
What have I done?
Isn’t it just a punishment for a scum of a beast that seduces the royal family and other nobles without knowing the subject?
Opening her chest proudly in front of God under a clear sky, Monia was confident that she hadn’t done anything wrong.
However, she was shunned by her family and imprisoned.
“I will punish you for wandering on an island.”
He was subjected to an infinitely one-sided trial and was forcibly fed with sleeping pills, receiving treatment that was unbelievable for a duke’s lineage second only to the royal family.
And now when I opened my eyes, she was here.
* * *
“ah.”
Realizing the reality, Monia’s face turned pale.
“No, that is nonsense. It can’t be. Me, my father abandoned me, it can’t be… … .”
She muttered that it couldn’t be, but looked around with shaky eyes.
But nothing changed.
Abandoned by her family, she was abandoned on a floating island.
The stinging sand that burned her delicate and tender skin and the salty sea breeze blowing sticky and sticking to her made me realize it.
“No way… … .”
Chester watched Monia, who was about to collapse in confusion, then looked around.
‘I’m thirsty. How long have you been lying on the beach?’
Checking the coconuts on the palm tree, Chester immediately started climbing the palm tree.
“uh? Where are you going!”
“Where are you going?”
Chester, who skillfully climbed to the top of the palm tree, rotated the coconut and thought of his body moving better than he thought.
‘How long has it been since you climbed a tree? When I was young, I used to climb trees and play every day.’
After picking three palm trees, Chester inspected the coconut for a weak spot, and then took a picture of the weak spot on the pointed part of a nearby rock.
“Hee!”
When the coconut and the rock collided with a loud sound, Monia was frightened and cowered.
No matter how hard he hit the coconut on the rock, Chester split the coconut and drank the juice that flowed out to quench his thirst.
“Whoa. I will live.”
Chester, who was thirsty, threw an empty coconut towards the kingdom in order to vent his anger at the kingdom that had abandoned him here.
Coconuts that fell into the sea returned to the island on the waves.
“… … .”
“You’re losing your spirits.”
Chester sighed and picked up another coconut.
‘By the way, I can’t just drink coconut forever.’
The floating island was hot.
Just by staying still, you will lose water in liters, and you have to drink that much water to replenish it, but coconuts were dangerous if you drank in large quantities.
‘Upset stomach, diarrhea… What else? Anyway, you can’t rely solely on coconut for rehydration.’
But Chester wasn’t too worried.
‘For a forest like this to be formed, there must be a water source of that size. It would be nice to be somewhere not far from the beach.’
Chester intended to survive around this beach.
If you stay on the beach, you might accidentally spot a boat passing by and be rescued.
‘I need a house too. If you block the sunlight with a roof, you can conserve even a little bit of moisture, and at night, your body heat will be taken away by the cold ground, so you have to block that too.’
Suddenly, Chester remembered the days he spent with his parents before he was sent to the butler academy.
His father was a hunter. It was also quite capable.
Since he obtained leather and meat from nature and exchanged it for money, he was the one who advocated that we should thank nature and stay close to it.
So, whenever his father had a break from hunting, he would go into the mountains without any tools and live.
Chester often accompanies his father and learns various knowledge and skills necessary for hunting and survival.
Of course, as she left home and was educated as a butler, her knowledge became blurred and her skills dulled, but when this situation came to her, the knowledge she had learned from her father was emerging.
‘Is it a survival instinct?’
Chester thanked his father for remembering the days when, as a child, he ate meat from the carcass of an animal that had been eaten by another animal in the mountains where it was so cold that his fingers would fall off, and he would dig into a snow hole and fall asleep trembling in fear.
Thankfully, he jumped up from his seat.
“Hick!”
Suddenly, after throwing the coconut into the sea, Chester, who had been silently thinking, stood up, and Monia, surprised, shrank.
“Shall we go?”
“Yes? where?”
Chester ignored Monia’s questions and started walking into the woods to explore the island.
Upon entering the island and observing the surroundings, Chester immediately noticed something strange.
‘There are many broken trees.’
In addition, the carcass of a fish living in the deep sea was kicked at the feet of Chester, who had been walking a moment ago.
‘Have you met a typhoon before coming here? Good thing. If there are this many broken trees, I’ll be able to use them to build a house.’
Deciding to pick up trees on the way back, Chester picked up a stone and scratched the tree to make a mark.
‘I see plants I don’t know. It’s nice to see what you know.’
For example, this plant with small, red berries on thin branches that grow to waist height.
I don’t know the official name, but it was called candy among the local children where Chester lived.
Candy because it resembles candy, ‘something round and sweet’ that only nobles eat.
All sweets were unimaginably expensive, so this candy fruit was one of the few sweets that commoners could taste.
Chester broke off the branch and ate each piece of candy with his lips.
The weak fruit bursts with even a slight bite, and the fresh fruit scent and subtle sweetness spread through the tongue along with the juice.
‘Once upon a time, I wanted to eat something like this. I even fought with the kids to get one of these.’
“Ugh! It tastes awful!”
At that time, Chester turned around at the voice he heard from behind.
I knew that I had been following you from earlier, but why did this person follow me?
Chester looked at Monia, who had been betrayed after eating candy after him.
“Why did you follow me?”
“Everyone, shouldn’t you take care of me! Where are you roaming around?!”
At that absurd statement, Chester sneered and looked at Monia.
On a deserted island like this, though dirty with sand and dust, she was still beautiful.
The black hair that symbolizes the duke’s family and the slightly watery purple eyes.
A dress made in the latest fashion design by raking together the finest materials that are rarely available on the market to suit the party.
Gorgeous necklaces, bracelets and rings adorning the slender necks, wrists and fingers.
And finally, the high heels that can be seen through the cracks in the torn dress that have grazed the tree branches.
She was obviously very beautiful, but none of them suited the current situation.
“… … .”
Chester stared into Monia’s eyes, then turned around.
Now, every minute and every second was precious to him, and he had no time to deal with her.
“Ah, ah.”
Monia, who saw that, hurriedly followed Chester, who was startled and walked away.
“Two, don’t leave… … .”
There was great fear and apprehension in the voice that escaped her lips involuntarily.
