Chapter 720: Easy to Enter, Hard to Exit
Hao Jian covered his nose and took a step back, responding to an unrelated question, "Can you stay away from me? Your breath stinks."
"Fine, fine, fine... you just wait!" Tian Baolei's last shred of rationality snapped. He had initially intended to be polite before resorting to force, but now that this guy was being so uncooperative, there was no need for him to hide anything anymore.
After that, Tian Baolei got up and left the room. Soon, he came back with a group of Armed Police in tow.
Each of these Armed Police officers was holding a stun baton or something similar, glaring menacingly at Hao Jian, a good dozen of them so many that they filled the entire room.
In such a cramped space, even a 'Daluo Golden Immortal' would have had no room to escape, let alone Hao Jian with his magical powers unable to unfold.
And most importantly, Hao Jian was unarmed, while they all had weapons. There was no way he could be a match for them.
"Still laughing now?" Tian Baolei watched Hao Jian with a sinister stare, looking somewhat triumphant.
"Eggplant!" Hao Jian squeezed out a brilliant smile in response to Tian Baolei.
"You son of a..." Tian Baolei felt like his lungs were about to explode with rage. How could this guy be so nerve-wrackingly calm in this situation?
"I'm giving you one last chance. Give us a sum of money as a bargaining chip for negotiations, and we'll call the whole matter off. Otherwise, you can wait to be shot!" Tian Baolei laid down his harsh threat, showing his true colors.
"So that was your goal from the beginning," Hao Jian couldn't help but sneer, looking at Tian Baolei with a smile: "But I think even if I gave you the money, you wouldn't let us go. After all, we're now considered terrorists. Capturing a terrorist is a great achievement that can help you get promoted and make a fortune. Would you give up such a good opportunity?"
Hao Jian was no fool; he knew exactly what Tian Baolei was scheming, so he had no intention of agreeing to his demands.
Tian Baolei's brow furrowed, and he soon let out a cold laugh: "Seems like you're quite smart, kid. Yes, I never intended to let you go. Even if you gave us money, you would still end up dead. But before you die, I want to teach you, who knows neither heaven nor earth, a lesson!"
"Then bring it on, what are you waiting for? COME ON BABY, FU*K, ME!" Hao Jian burst out laughing.
"****er!" Tian Baolei roared as if struck by thunder, completely losing his mind and grabbing a weapon to rush forward.
"Go, Pikachu!" Hao Jian shouted and forcefully pushed Weiwei, while he himself jumped backward.
Tian Baolei and his men were dumbfounded. Was Hao Jian shamelessly using a little girl as a human shield?
Weiwei was fuming with anger to the point she felt like vomiting blood, hating Hao Jian enough to kill him. Pikachu? She was Pikachu?
But having been pushed forward, Weiwei had no choice but to take action; after all, she had been holding back for a long time, decisively launching herself at Tian Baolei and his men.
"Captain, what do we do?" some of the men asked Tian Baolei, as they were hesitant to strike a little girl.
"Don't let your guard down. They're terrorists, hit them!" Tian Baolei replied decisively. No matter who Weiwei was, he would mark her as a terrorist. Capturing one could earn him a promotion, and capturing two would earn an even bigger one.
So even if Weiwei really was just a little girl, he wouldn't let her go. Blame Fortuna for following someone as unreliable as Hao Jian.
Soon, Tian Baolei and his men paid for their arrogance, realizing that Weiwei was not simply a little girl.
In just a few minutes, these Armed Police officers had all been knocked down by Tian Baolei, each one unable to move.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, you can't even beat my underlings, and you want to fight me?" Hao Jian said, squatting in front of the prostrate Tian Baolei.
"This is assaulting an officer; you're going to pay for this!" Tian Baolei looked up and roared at Hao Jian, his eyes seething with resentment.
"Pay? You're already after my life, I'm about to die, why would I care about any consequences?" Hao Jian laughed, then patted Tian Baolei on the shoulder, "Even if I'm going to die, it doesn't seem like such a bad deal if you guys are buried with me."
At these words, Tian Baolei and his men were terrified, overwhelmed with fear of this mysterious man.
Hao Jian stood up, kicked one of the Armed Police, and said, "You, go get your top officer to come here, tell him Hao Jian is looking for him."
"I... can I leave?" The Armed Police officer was overjoyed as he hurried out. Was this guy actually letting him go?
"What, you don't want to go now? No, no, no, I'm going right away, I'm leaving right now!" The officer jumped in fright and darted away. Who would choose death over living?
This guy was a lunatic; he might actually dare to kill.
The other Armed Police were green with envy; they all wanted to leave, but without a word from Hao Jian, they dared not move.
Then, after a few minutes, a middle-aged man burst into the room with a group of gun-wielding Armed Police. There were reports of trouble within the military compound, and as the director, he naturally couldn't ignore it.
And as soon as the director walked in, Tian Baolei was elated, exclaiming, "Uncle, save me!"
This man was none other than Tian Baolei's uncle, who had consistently protected him, which was why he could act recklessly outside.
"Look at the mess you've made!" Tian Fuyuan scolded angrily. He didn't actually like Tian Baolei that much, because Tian Baolei kept causing trouble and he had lost count of how many times he had to clean up after him. But since Tian Baolei was his nephew, he had no choice but to cover for him time and again.
And now with such a huge incident, a single person had taken down more than a dozen soldiers. If word got out, how could their Armed Police save face?
Tian Baolei hung his head in guilt but then seemed to think of something and said, "Uncle, they're terrorists. If we report this, we'll have made a great contribution!"
The credit should have been his, but now Tian Baolei could only offer it up to Tian Fuyuan. Being alive was better than anything.
"Really?" Tian Fuyuan was shocked at heart. If these were indeed terrorists, then it indeed would be a great achievement.
"Really, this guy has a case full of various hot weapons on him. What is he if not a terrorist?" Tian Baolei said hastily.
Upon hearing this, Tian Fuyuan almost believed it and a broad smile appeared on his face.
Immediately after, Tian Fuyuan stared at Hao Jian, "Kid, just surrender. We don't want to kill you!"
"You don't want to kill us, or you don't want to kill us now?" Hao Jian sneered. How could Tian Fuyuan kill them now and still claim the credit?
Tian Fuyuan couldn't help but show surprise. This kid was smarter than he had expected.
"If you're willing to surrender, I can plead for mercy from my superiors. Maybe you won't have to die. But if you refuse, you will definitely die!" Tian Fuyuan stated coldly.
"I said I'll only talk to your leader. You, a mere director, aren't qualified to speak with me." Hao Jian said disdainfully. Tian Fuyuan might hold a high position in others' eyes, but in his, he was insignificant.
"You're courting death!" Tian Fuyuan huffed, and then the Armed Police behind him all raised their guns, aiming at Hao Jian.
"Although I can't kill you now, I can still cripple you! I'd advise you not to ask for trouble," Tian Fuyuan threatened coldly. Hao Jian was unarmed, how could he fight them?
"Is that so?" Hao Jian smiled, then pulled a hand grenade from his chest and yanked the pin.
Seeing this, the faces of Tian Baolei, Tian Fuyuan, and the others turned green; this guy actually had a hand grenade? In such a confined space, the grenade's power was enough to kill all of them.
"Come on, let's hurt each other!" Hao Jian taunted.
At this moment, Tian Fuyuan couldn't help casting a murderous look at Tian Baolei, almost going mad with rage.
This jerk had neglected to frisk this guy before bringing him back.
What he didn't know was that it wasn't Tian Baolei's reluctance to search him but his fear. Moreover, Tian Baolei hadn't expected Hao Jian would casually carry a hand grenade around. Wasn't he afraid of accidentally setting it off? This bastard was insane!
Under Tian Fuyuan's piercing gaze, Tian Baolei also bowed his head, not daring to meet Tian Fuyuan's eyes.
"Retreat!" Tian Fuyuan couldn't help but roar. If they didn't get out now, it meant death, and he didn't want to be buried with Tian Baolei.
But upon hearing this, Tian Baolei and his underlings despaired. Even Tian Fuyuan didn't care about them anymore. Who else could save them?
"Retreat? Easy to come in, but hard to leave. If you dare go out, I'll immediately detonate the grenade." Hao Jian now held the spoon of the grenade; just one release of his grip, and it would explode instantly.
"What exactly do you want?" Tian Fuyuan asked with an ugly expression. The feeling of being at someone's mercy was unbearable, but there was nothing he could do, was there? The man had grasped their lifeline after all.
"I said, call your leader here, I want to see him," Hao Jian stated.
"Alright!" Tian Fuyuan, having no other option, agreed to call his own leader. He then turned to someone and said, "Make the call immediately!"
"Remember, be quick. My hand's getting sore from gripping this grenade, and if it gets too sore, I will still throw it away!" Tian Fuyuan was so furious he could spit blood, wishing he could pounce on Hao Jian and bite him several times.
"I got it," Tian Fuyuan said, his face looking terrible.
Another minute passed, and a portly middle-aged man around fifty walked in, but as soon as he entered, he went straight for Hao Jian.
"Elder Yan, be careful. He is a terrorist, and he has a hand grenade!" Tian Fuyuan warned anxiously, but it was as if Elder Yan hadn't heard him and went directly to Hao Jian.
