Supremely Talented Tyrant

Chapter 1171: Shopping After the Rain

"Mudslide?!"

Seeing the torrent of mud racing down from the mountaintop, the faces of Lin Zheng and the others suddenly changed drastically. They all turned their heads simultaneously and ran toward the outside of the mountain.

This mudslide is no joke; if it were to hit, one's life might be forfeit.

"Go!"

Hao Jian wrapped Shu Ya's waist, stomped on the ground, and darted out in an instant, covering ten meters in the blink of an eye.

Fortunately, this mudslide was discovered in advance. If they had been halfway up the mountain, escape would have been much more difficult.

"President Shu, Chairman Hao, I truly apologize for this incident!"

Lin Zheng and his group ran in front of Hao Jian and Shu Ya. Lin Zheng, with a somewhat pale face, apologized.

"The weather is unpredictable, it's not Secretary Lin's fault."

Hao Jian didn't mind the issue; instead, he waved it off with a smile, looked at the pouring rain, then at his rain-soaked self, shaking his head with a laugh, and said, "Secretary Lin, I think we should wait for better weather to come back and take a look!"

"Sounds good."

Lin Zheng did not refuse Hao Jian's decision. With this weather and the mudslide, it simply wasn't a time to inspect; it would be better to wait until the weather improves and then go up the mountain.

"Then let's go! If we keep getting drenched, we'll catch a cold."

Seeing Lin Zheng nod, Hao Jian chuckled, and the group decided not to stay and get soaked any longer. One by one, they returned to the car, though each person's face bore a faint expression of having survived a calamity.

An hour later, Lin Zheng sent Hao Jian and the others back to the hotel and then left promptly. After all, he was completely drenched and couldn't stay. He needed to go home, change clothes, and when the weather cleared up, take Shu Ya and others to inspect the mine. However, next time he'll need to prepare a more cautious plan.

This mudslide and rainstorm incident caught him off guard.

Back in the room, Hao Jian and Shu Ya washed off the muddy scent of the day. After showering, Hao Jian went downstairs to the hotel restaurant to order dinner. Once the food was prepared and sent up, he returned to the room.

As time passed, the pouring rain gradually subsided. Perhaps the initial downpour was too intense, causing the rain to transform into a light drizzle later.

By six-thirty, the rain finally stopped, and it was at this time that Hao Jian and Shu Ya received their dinner brought up by the waiter.

After relishing their dinner, Hao Jian went to the sofa in the living room, picked up a newspaper, and half-lay down to read it. Meanwhile, Shu Ya, having finished her meal, felt a bit bored and headed to the balcony. She looked at the dark sky, which had no stars, only a large, bright moon.

With her eyes slightly narrowed, she stretched and admired the view outside. Unfortunately, Shu Ya was not someone who could sit idly; spotting a bustling street in the distance, her eyes lit up.

"Hmm, should I go out? Hao Jian might still want to rest, should I?"

She initially intended to decide quickly to go out and have a look, as it was no longer raining. However, thinking of Hao Jian made Shu Ya's pretty face fall into contemplation, cradling her chin with her hands, feeling torn.

Today, Hao Jian not only had to drive but also accompany her to visit the mine. Although they didn't manage to visit due to the weather and mudslide, it had still drained a lot of energy.

While thinking about letting Hao Jian rest more, she also couldn't manage to stay idle. The thought of sneaking out by herself was quickly dismissed since Hao Jian would surely not let her go out alone.

After all, on the way here, Hao Jian repeatedly emphasized not going out alone. When she asked him why, Hao Jian didn't give her a reason.

After multiple fruitless inquiries, she gave up, choosing to trust Hao Jian. She knew that his decisions were for her own good. If he didn't want to say it, he must have his reasons.

"What's on your mind?"

Suddenly, a playful voice sounded by her ear, startling Shu Ya from her deep thought. She looked up at the familiar face with a smile on her own.

Shaking her head, she pointed ahead and said, "I wanted to go there to take a look, but I feared disturbing your rest, so I was torn."

Hearing Shu Ya's voice, Hao Jian, who had wondered what was troubling her, laughed. Seeing her face full of expectation, he nodded and said, "If you want to go, then let's go. I don't have anything to do, and as you know, the hotel's food isn't quite to my taste. Now that the rain's stopped, it's a good opportunity to find something to eat outside."

While it was raining, Hao Jian couldn't go out for food, and the hotel's meals didn't suit him. However, with the rain now stopped, it was a good time to venture out.

"Hehe, I knew you were the best!"

With Hao Jian's agreement, Shu Ya's face lit up with a smile. Seeing her smile, Hao Jian rubbed his nose, knowing that a big part of the reason for going out was Shu Ya herself.

"Let's go!"

Since Hao Jian agreed, Shu Ya couldn't sit still. She got up, grabbed Hao Jian's hand, picked up her bag from the sofa, and left the hotel.

After leaving the hotel, Shu Ya had no plans to take a car there. After all, it had rained earlier and their car got all wet, and it couldn't be driven. They would have to wait until tomorrow to take it to the shop for cleaning.

Moreover, the street didn't seem too far from the hotel, so they could just catch a quick cab there. Hao Jian had no objections to Shu Ya's decision.

With the guidance of a local driver, Hao Jian and Shu Ya arrived at a lively street. This two to three-kilometer-long street was flanked with shops, bustling with people going in and out, clearly the pedestrian street of this district.

"Hongyun Street."

Looking at the street sign at the entrance, Hao Jian rubbed his nose. He was familiar with this place; it was the biggest pedestrian street in Hao'an City, apparently built under Lin Zheng's leadership.

Once it was built, it brought ongoing tax income to Hao'an City and provided the citizens with another venue for shopping and leisure.

"Hao Jian, look at this store!"

While Hao Jian was pondering over some thoughts, Shu Ya's voice suddenly rang in his ears. He looked up and saw Shu Ya waving at him in front of a jewelry store.

"Alright, alright."

Seeing this, Hao Jian smiled slightly. It seemed that dinner would have to wait; he decided to accompany this girl shopping for a while for a bit of digestion.

Over the next two hours, Hao Jian followed Shu Ya from store to store. Whenever Shu Ya found something she liked, Hao Jian would simply take out his card, make the purchase, and proceed to the next store.

As they were halfway through, Hao Jian's hands were already full, holding one bag after another, totaling ten in number.

Why did I agree to this girl going out shopping...

Looking at the still energetic Shu Ya, Hao Jian found it somewhat funny yet helpless. These girls all seem the same when they go shopping.

They don't stop at all. Over the past two hours, Hao Jian hadn't even had a sip of water, and neither had Shu Ya. Yet, from her demeanor, it seemed she could continue shopping here for several more hours without needing to quench her thirst.

"Hehe…"

Observing Hao Jian behind her, Shu Ya's pretty face revealed a playful expression. Truthfully, shopping for two hours was tiring, but she just loved the feeling of shopping with Hao Jian.

"Oh…"

Stealing a glance at Hao Jian and noticing he was still following her, Shu Ya secretly exhaled a sigh of relief, discreetly plotting her next move. Her eyes sparkled when she suddenly spotted a restaurant not far away.

"Hao Jian!"

Softly calling out, Shu Ya turned her head and looked at Hao Jian, pointing to the restaurant. She said, "Hao Jian, why don't you go and rest in that restaurant and order some food; I'm hungry too. You head over first, and I'll join you after I finish looking at this shop."

While speaking, she pointed to the small jewelry store in front of her.

"Alright."

Fortunately, Hao Jian had been waiting for Shu Ya to say this. Hearing her, he nodded. After all, the store was only a few meters away from the restaurant; he wasn't worried about Shu Ya getting into any trouble.

Hence, he started walking towards the restaurant.

"Hehe."

Watching Hao Jian enter the restaurant, Shu Ya's eyes flashed with mischief. Seizing the moment when Hao Jian was oblivious, she stepped into another store.

And this is the store Shu Ya had her eye on earlier: a lingerie shop. Her face flushed slightly as she picked up the lingerie she had long set her eyes on.

"Boss, wrap this up for me."

After trying it on in the fitting room and finding it perfect, Shu Ya took it out and handed it to the female store owner at the counter, asking her to wrap it up.

She also handed her bank card to the shop owner.

............

Shu Ya's speed in buying clothes was quick. As Hao Jian had just finished ordering food, Shu Ya was already on her way upstairs. Spotting Hao Jian, she swiftly walked over to him. However, to keep it a secret from Hao Jian that she'd bought the lingerie, she had already arranged for her employee to pick it up.

She also made a phone call to her staff, asking them to retrieve it for her.
