Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 435: A little time for a date while waiting

In the late afternoon, when it began to get dark outside, a rift opened in one of the sparsely populated alleys of the city of Rumbus, from which two young men emerged: a young man and a girl. Both were dressed for the weather.

The young man had short brown hair and brown eyes, while the girl had long dark purple hair and purple eyes.

Previously, multicolored hair and eyes were considered unusual in this world, but after the disaster and the appearance of the Awakened, they became a distinctive feature.

The weather was a bit cold.

Idan and Arabel, having assumed another disguise and donned Ghost Masks, looked around.

After more than two weeks, the city seemed to be still intact. There were no signs of destruction, and even the light of working electricity could be seen in the distance.

Idan started slightly. After staying in the Lava Lake for almost a week, such a sudden change in temperature, despite his protection, made him feel uncomfortable.

Whereas Arabel felt at home.

"Oh, if I hadn't left the Anchor in the World of Darkness and Light, we could have appeared in the capital right away!" sighed Arabel, a little regretting that she had decided to untie her Anchor from Coco and leave it in the world of Light and Darkness.

"You did the right thing," Idan assured her. "An anchor in a World of Darkness and Light is still useful to us."

"By the way, do you have your brother's number?" asked Idan, taking out his smartphone.

"Yes, of course," Arabel replied, also taking out her smartphone from the spatial ring that she had tied to herself. "I'll try to call him now."

"The number you dialed is unavailable," came from the smartphone speaker.

"Arslan is unavailable, — Arabel frowned.

"It's been about two weeks, Belle. Perhaps your brother has already returned to the capital," Idan told her.

"Communication in the city still seems to be limited," Idan said after an unsuccessful attempt to call his older sister, Irene.

"So, what do we do next?" Arabel asked.

"We have nothing to do in this city. It's time for us to return to the capital," Idan said. "But this time Ned is not here, and Bera is already in the capital. Besides, using our wings to fly will be too tiring and take too long."

"Are you suggesting we find transportation?" Arabel caught the gist.

Idan nodded.

A smile spread across Arabel's face.

"I have an idea," she said.

"System, could you contact her and ask her to come to Rumbus to pick us up?" she asked the system.

[Good], — the System replied immediately.

"What are you talking about?" Idan asked, not quite understanding who he was talking about. Although the system seemed to know who it was talking about.

"You'll find out soon enough," Arabel said, then, taking his hands, she looked into his eyes. "Do we have some time, maybe we should take a walk?"

"With pleasure," Idan replied with a smile.

They held hands and, leaving the alley, went for a walk around the city.

"How funny, isn't it? Last time, we also walked around this city, shopping for the Master and the others, but after that we couldn't find time for a simple rest," Arabel recalled.

"Yes, and I hope we'll have more of those moments now," Idan said, glancing at Arabel. She, in turn, looked at him and nodded, agreeing with his thoughts.

They both felt tired from constantly moving and completing tasks. They both wanted to find time to spend it together.

After a while.

"By the way, you haven't cooked for a long time," Idan reminded him, trying the dish he had just served in one of the restaurants in the city.

"Not bad, — Idan appreciated his order.

"Do you want to try my cooking?" Arabel asked, also appreciating the dish.

"Of course," Idan replied. "One's own dish and a dish cooked by another is a completely different experience. Moreover, the food you cook should be great."

"Okay, then I'll cook next time, — Arabel agreed with a smile. She was confident in her cooking ability and also did not want to lag behind Idan in this.

Idan had been doing the cooking for them lately. It's time for her to take it into her own hands.

"Are you sure?" — Arabel asked through a mental link, watching as the waiter uncorked the bottle and began pouring the red wine Idan had ordered. She remembered how Idan had lost quickly to hot drinks last time.

"What? Do you think one or two glasses of ordinary wine can beat me?" Idan raised an eyebrow. "It's not like those burning Sierra drinks, but a simple wine that doesn't even have a drop of mana in it. What can happen to me?"

"That's true, — Arabel agreed. As soon as the waiter finished his work and wished them a pleasant evening, Idan and Arabel raised their glasses, clinked glasses and took their first sip.

"Indeed, compared to my older sister's drinks, this wine just seems like grape juice," Arabel remarked, and Idan almost choked on his wine.

Idan didn't say anything, but deep down, he was amazed at Arabel's resilience.

"Perhaps it's related to her Valkyrie bloodline?" he suggested. After all, all the women he knew in the other world seemed to be immune to alcohol and hardly got drunk.

After a leisurely dinner, which was held in a pleasant atmosphere, Idan and Arabel, having had enough of each other's company, left the restaurant.

"Where to next?" asked Arabel, snuggling up to Idan.

"Do you want to go somewhere?" asked Idan.

Arabel shook her head, giving him the choice.

Idan had no experience in dating, so he knew almost nothing about how to arrange them.

"Let's just take a walk," he suggested, having no other ideas.

Arabel nodded.

And so they went for a leisurely walk through the snowy city at night, illuminated by streetlights.

For many people, such a simple walk might seem boring. But for Idan and Arabel, being unhurried and carefree after everything they had experienced was truly an invaluable moment. They enjoyed every moment of this tranquility, because there was no one around them who could disturb their privacy.

Deep down, they both wished they could have more of these moments in the future—closer and more intimate.

The couple spent some time forgetting about time. However, as is often the case, all good things have an end. Their idyll was interrupted by a call on Arabel's smartphone.

"It's her," Arabel said with a sigh, answering the phone. She had a quick conversation with the caller, and Idan couldn't make out the voice on the other end of the line.

"Let's go," Arabel said to Idan, taking his hand and heading in a certain direction. Soon, they arrived at the designated location, where a military SUV and a girl Idan recognized were already waiting for them. She was nervously looking at her smartphone.

"Hailey?" said Idan in surprise, recognizing his friend.

"Huh?" — Hailey looked up in surprise when she heard her name. She looked up from her smartphone screen, and her heterochromic eyes stared at the two strangers, making her frown.

"It's us," Arabel said, lifting the Ghost's Mask.

"Oh!" — Hailey exclaimed, and a smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Ah, Miss, you are as beautiful as ever," she suddenly began showering Arabel with compliments, which made Idan freeze in surprise.
