Chapter 368: Erza furious
As the mistress of the party and the strongest being of this city, Erza soon returned to the main hall to greet all the important guests again and have a lively conversation.
All the creatures of darkness felt the approach of night. Darkness was gathering all around, filling the atmosphere with a special atmosphere.
With the onset of darkness, the true beings of darkness born and connected to this world became stronger and more sensitive.
Erza, as a rank 5 creature of darkness, was no exception.
With every minute she waited for the heir of the Dark Beast Territory to finish having fun with the descendant of the famous family from the new world, Erza began to feel a little uneasy.
She hadn't felt this way in a long time.
Ever since she reached the fifth rank, only the existence of the Queen and the other rulers, beings of the sixth rank, troubled her.
"How strange," Erza muttered, holding a glass made of transparent material filled with an unknown black liquid.
Enjoying the evening, she took a sip of this drink from time to time, catching conversations about the recent strange robberies that other creatures who lived in this city had encountered.
All of these robberies were unusual because the robber was acting covertly. He appeared and disappeared unnoticed, not even coming into the field of view of the magical detection systems inside the treasuries. Even the formations designed to detect the disappearance of objects did not work.
Despite the elusiveness of the robber, some victims were still able to find at least one clue. At the scene of the robbery, in some treasuries, the robber left strange crumpled paper with bizarre drawings and inscriptions.
Attempts to study this paper or track down its owner have not yielded any useful results.
Over the past day, it has become the most discussed topic, overshadowing even the news about the upcoming grand auction.
Erza also took care of the safety of her treasury, strengthening not only the guards, but also putting the most loyal and obedient puppets on duty.
While she was lost in thought, one of the maids came up to her.
"Mistress," she said with a bow and froze, waiting for permission to speak.
Erza, snapped out of her thoughts, frowned and looked at the slightly trembling maid.
"Speak," she said in an imperious tone, slightly startling the maid.
"Mistress, a messenger has arrived with news of the Queen's imminent arrival in the city. She wants you to personally greet her," the maid said, handing over the messenger's message.
Erza was surprised to hear about the Queen's arrival so soon.
"Tch!" she said, clicking her tongue in annoyance.
"I'll have to change some plans," Erza thought, before waving her hand at the maid to leave.
Soon, the rumor that the Queen would personally visit the city spread among the guests, causing new waves of discussion.
In the middle of the evening, when all the guests were in high spirits, they suddenly heard the sound of glass breaking. Following that, an oppressive atmosphere enveloped the entire hall, making it difficult for the weaker creatures to breathe.
All the guests turned their eyes to the source of the noise, and when they saw who it was, a shiver ran down their backs.
In front of them stood the mistress of this place and this evening, Erza Twilight. The sound they heard was the sound of a glass breaking in her hands.
"Who angered her?" the guests began to whisper, wondering who had caused this monster's anger.
Shaking the shards and liquid from her palm, Erza glanced at the crowd, turned around and disappeared.
A few moments later, she was already standing in front of the doors leading to her treasury. All the spells she had personally set were still in effect, and there was no sign of anyone trying to crack them.
Quickly dispelling them, Erza opened the door and, stepping inside, froze in amazement.
The treasury was completely empty, and the five maids she had left to guard the place were on their knees, trembling in fear.
"Aaaaaaa!" they shouted in unison, clutching their chests.
Erza asked menacingly, not taking her stern gaze off them.
"We don't know!" the maids replied. "We didn't see anyone!"
"Everything happened instantly!"
"Yes, all the things disappeared in a matter of seconds, and we didn't see anyone!"
Erza wasn't satisfied with that answer, even though she knew they wouldn't dare lie to her.
"Mistress, have mercy!" said one of the maids.
The snow-white skin of the maids began to shrivel and darken right in front of their eyes.
"Mistress!" they shouted in despair, but Erza didn't show any compassion. In a matter of seconds, instead of five maids, there were only their dark robes and a black puddle under them.
Erza was beside herself with anger, looking at the empty treasury.
Previously, the misfortunes of others had nothing to do with her, but now it has become personal. She longed to find the robber and personally put him or her to torment. She did not want them to die, but dreamed that the torture would last until the end of time.
All of this happened just when she was starting to worry that the heir of the Dark Beast Territory was lingering too long, drowning in his pleasures.
Out of respect for his parents, Erza did not try to keep an eye on him, entrusting it to his personal guards, including a fifth-rank servant.
However, now that her mood had soured, Erza discarded all conventions and tried to check the girl's condition through her connection with the creature. And then she froze.
Boom!
A powerful pressure burst out of Erza, scattering everything around. From the force of this pressure, the walls of the underground room of the treasury trembled, and cracks appeared on them.
Erza's eyes completely sank into the abyss of darkness, and the darkness began to thicken around her, hiding her figure.
Erza was furious.
First the treasure trove, and now this.
Not only did she lose control, but she also lost her connection with the creature that the girl had.
And what's more, she couldn't pinpoint her location.
Enveloped in darkness, Erza disappeared, leaving behind a dilapidated room created only by her Soul Force.
It swept by at great speed, leaving only destruction in its wake.
Nothing could stop her anymore.
Before she reached the room where she thought the heir of the Dark Beast Territory and the girl were, her path was blocked by the guards of the heir.
"Stop!" one of them shouted, blocking the way, even though he clearly felt that a powerful and dangerous being was approaching them, greatly surpassing them in strength. However, he didn't realize that she was the mistress of this place.
