Chapter 366: And where are we?
"What? What did you say?" — Essora asked, almost shouting, to make sure she had heard Idan's words correctly.
"I'm saying that your brother is with me, I recently abducted him," Idan clarified so that Essora could understand him.
Essora was speechless.
"I recently broke into Erza's mansion to find the girl she took away, and during the search, thanks to the connection with the artifact, I discovered your brother," Idan began to explain. "Since I didn't have much time, I had to kidnap your brother to interrogate him later."
"So yes, your brother is with me," Idan confirmed once more.
Essora's thoughts were in turmoil. On the one hand, she couldn't believe it and denied Idan's words. Having lived in this dark and terrible world for a long time, she no longer believed in such a miracle.
But on the other hand, she understood that Idan had no reason to lie to her. After all, in order to use the full power of the artifact, he really needed her younger brother.
"Only... only if he didn't target me instead of my younger brother..." Essora thought anxiously, remembering that she also had the blood of the Grandia royal family in her veins. However, unlike her younger brother, her blood had already been diluted, and because of this, she could no longer progress in understanding the element of time.
Idan waited patiently for Essora's reaction to his last words.
Essora, lost in thought, felt her time-stopping ability begin to lose its power.
"I want to see him, my little brother," she said to Idan.
"Okay, — Idan agreed without hesitation, and immediately after his words, the black-and-white world began to sparkle with colors again.
"No, don't kill them!" exclaimed Idan, noticing that Essora was about to attack the guards.
Upon hearing the guy's words, Essora immediately retracted her murderous intent and simply suppressed them with her Platinum-ranked Soul Force, immobilizing them.
Then, under the astonished gazes of the other prisoners, Essora took the keys and unlocked the cage where Idan and Arabel were. At the same time, she disabled the defensive formations. Once inside, she took two guards with her and disappeared, shrouded in the disguise of a Sphere of Secret Concealment.
"Belle, tie these two," he said, speaking to Arabel through a mental link.
At Idan's request, Arabel, manipulating her hair without question, immediately moved towards the puzzled guards. Catching them easily, she tied them up and gagged them.
"What's going on?" asked Arabel, surprised by the sudden change in the situation. To her, Idan had just come forward to talk to Essora, and after a few words from him, there was such a sudden change.
"Where? Where is my brother?" asked Essora, appearing in front of Idan before he could explain what was happening to Arabel.
It took Essora a moment to recognize Arabel due to the changes in her appearance. Other than her, she only found an artifact that belonged to the Grandia Royal Family. Unable to find her younger brother, Essora began to suspect that the young man standing in front of her had lied.
"I'll explain everything as soon as I let Essora see her little brother," Idan said through a mental link with Arabel and opened the Access Door with a wave of his hand.
Essora, who had just begun to get angry because of her hasty conclusions, froze when she saw something resembling a portal, but in the form of a door.
"He's inside," Idan said, pointing to the door and inviting Essora in.
Hesitating for a moment, Essora glanced at Idan and then stepped inside.
As soon as Essora was inside the spatial storage, Idan and Arabel pushed two guards into the same place and closed the Access Door.
"So what happened?" Arabel asked after dealing with the guards and being left alone with Idan.
"Essora stopped time..." — quickly, but at the same time in detail, Idan shared the content of his conversation with Essora.
Like himself, Arabel was amazed to learn about the secret of the Sphere of Secret Concealment and that they were lucky not to leave the boy in the underground labyrinth, but decided to kidnap him.
"Okay, it's time for us to act," Idan said immediately after his explanation.
"Wait, — Arabel stopped him. "What about her?"
"With Essora?" asked Idan, and Arabel nodded.
"Let him stay with his little brother," Idan said. Then he remembered the information Ned had given him before talking to Essor, and hurried to share it with Arabel.
"Ned has already left Erza's mansion," he said.
"Finally!" said Arabel, delighted.
"Let's go," Idan suggested. Less than two seconds after those words, Arabel disappeared, and Ned appeared in her place.
"You know what to do as soon as you get here," Idan said. Ned nodded with a big smile on his face, and then disappeared as soon as Idan returned him back to his Star.
Idan donned a ghost mask and a black hooded cape to hide his good looks and assume the appearance of an inconspicuous young man. He still had the slave's collar around his neck, which Idan had decided to keep.
Then, activating the "swap" ability, he swapped places with Arabel, not forgetting to grab the Sphere of Secret Concealment. Having appeared in a new place, Idan summoned Ned, and he appeared, exchanged places with Arabel, returning back to the cage of the underground premises of the Trading House.
Alone in an empty, open cage, Ned couldn't help but smile broadly and feel excited about what he was about to accomplish.
"And where are we?" asked Arabel, appearing next to Idan.
"We are still in the central part of the city, not far from Erza's mansion," Idan said, addressing Arabel. He put on a hood to hide his face and confidently walked in a certain direction.
Arabel followed Idan in silence, taking in the world around her. All this time, she was on tenterhooks, waiting for the news that Erza had started looking for them.
After walking along a wide street for a while, Idan suddenly stopped, causing Arabel to almost bump into him.
"What happened?" she asked, only then noticing that Idan had stopped in front of someone.
After taking a closer look, Arabel gasped when she found out who it was.
She was a short girl with short black hair, like all of Erza's servants. She was wearing dark clothes typical of servants, and on the exposed parts of her body were dark inscriptions that Arabel was painfully familiar with.
The girl was sitting at the fence of a luxurious mansion, hugging her knees, and sobbing softly. Noticing that strangers had appeared next to her, she looked up, sniffing, and met Idan's gaze.
Idan sighed when he saw her face, and realized that Ned was not mistaken— it really was her.
That girl was the missing Milla.
