Chapter 295: Against three outsiders
The situation of Nico's group was deplorable.
"Ah..." groaned Nico, trying to sit down right after the woman left, but his body was having a hard time obeying him. Unlike him, his three male companions who had suffered the mental attack couldn't even move.
The condition of the two girls was extremely serious. Despite Nico's best efforts, there was nothing he could do to help. He had neither the experience nor the resources to alleviate their suffering.
They were all hosts of an Ordinary System, and none of them had the unique abilities peculiar to Rare Systems that could ease the girls' pain.
Nico and his companions noticed that the Silver-ranked girl was suffering the most. Her wounds began to become covered with strange black spots that spread like an infection throughout her body. Unable to bear the pain, she lost consciousness.
As for the second girl, although she was in pain too, her wounds were inflicted by blows, not by weapons made of black writing like the first one. Thanks to this, she had no dark spots.
Sitting down with difficulty, Nico looked around at his companions and, realizing that in his current state he was unable to change the situation, sighed as if giving up. But then his attention was attracted by the noise of battle coming from the third field.
Being a Gold-ranked being, Nico could see what was happening perfectly despite the distance. The other two outsiders his System mentioned had just gotten into a fight with the only guy who, unlike him and the others, was able to withstand the mental attacks.
Nico prayed that this guy could stand up and win, because otherwise he understood that their lives would end here.
"Damn Idan!" the guy screamed as two more strange women joined the battle. His scream echoed across the field, and Nico, who was watching, heard it clearly.
"You fool!" the guy continued to shout. "Stop acting like a child!"
Nico was at a loss and could not understand who this guy was addressing by saying such words.
The subsequent changes shocked Nico to the core.
So far, he had seen this guy using aura to apply sword techniques from a distance. However, he had now combined the aura with the fire element.
"So he's the Host of a Rare System," Nico said with a certain amount of disappointment, but then this feeling was replaced by hope. The hosts of Rare Systems were head and shoulders stronger than the Hosts of a Regular System like him.
However, what happened next made Nico's eyes widen in surprise.
The guy's blond hair turned to fiery red, and even from this distance, Nico could see sparks of flame dancing around his figure, and that the air around the guy was starting to heat up.
"This... this..." Nico couldn't understand what was going on.
"Who is this guy? Is he really the Host of the System? Perhaps he's an outsider too?" — such thoughts flashed through Nico's mind as he watched the unfolding events. Suddenly, a notification from his System appeared in front of him:
[Host! This… This is... "№;?:(%;,,]
Before finishing his sentence, Nico's system began to malfunction. Seeing this, Nico froze too. It was the first time that his almost emotionless and always monotonous System showed something similar to emotions.
[Overload of all data! The system is... rebooting!]
A new notification popped up, and Nico stared at it, stunned. He then turned his gaze to the battlefield, which seemed to have reached a new level.

"Well, bitches, shall we dance?" said Idan with a crazy smile, and the three women, inspired by his behavior, rushed at him, unleashing all the power of their mental attacks on him.
This time, Idan was ready to attack, assuming the form of an Alpha of Fire, which was unknowingly enhanced by the energy of madness. He understood that due to the large range of these mental attacks, he would not be able to dodge, so he decided to face them head-on.
Three powerful mental strikes hit his mind at once. Unlike the previous time, thanks to his bloodline and the Energy of Madness, some of the damage was leveled, and Idan only felt an increased headache. His head was pounding, making it difficult to think clearly.
Idan felt worse than he had after his emotions got out of control during their first ascension test. Back then, his Alpha Fire bloodline strongly influenced his emotions, making him short-tempered.
Right now, these endless mental attacks were weakening his mind, which the System claimed had been tempered during the second ascension trial. It was only because of this that Idan did not fall immediately like the rest of the men on this battlefield. However, his weakened mind began to be strongly influenced by the energy of madness.
Seeing that their attack not only did not cause proper damage, but also angered the young man, all three women, bursting into laughter and admiring his steadfastness more and more, launched new attacks.
One of them, whom Idan had been fighting from the very beginning, threw a spear at him with all her might. The other one, who defeated Selena, threw her glaive. And the third woman rushed straight at Idan, holding a weapon resembling a halberd.
Idan, seeing the attacks, easily dodged the spear. Then, pouring all three types of energy into his sword, he struck the glaive, deflecting it to the side. Without wasting a second, he struck out, shooting a sharp arc woven from three different energies towards the woman, who was rapidly approaching him, raising a halberd enhanced with dark energy above her head.
Seeing Idan's attack, the woman smiled broadly, not even trying to dodge. Confident in her own strength, she met Idan's attack head-on.
She struck the flying arc with full force with the halberd.
When her weapon met Idan's attack, it only withstood the onslaught for a moment before dissipating. The woman couldn't react quickly from surprise, but she still managed to dodge, and the arc only split her right arm, tearing off a significant chunk of her shoulder.
Seeing how their comrade-in-arms was injured, the other two did not resist Idan's attack, choosing to evade.
"Tch," Idan clicked his tongue in displeasure, realizing that although he had hit, he had not been able to kill any of these women.
Suddenly, his instincts warned of danger, and he instantly dodged. At the place where he was standing, first a spear flew at great speed, and then a glaive, which he had recently deflected.
Having failed to achieve their goal, the spear and the glaive returned to their owners. While the third woman was glaring at Idan and her own companions with fierce anger, black blood was gushing from her wound.
