Chapter 1825: Mission: Crush Tandris

'I do not want her to be lonely.'

These words echoed in Nux's mind as he recalled his memories, and he couldn't help but respect this man—this time, not because of how strong he was, but because of how much he loved his daughter.

If Aeliana stays in Yrniel, let alone killing her, even harming her was next to impossible. She would always be under Azriel's care, and Yrniel would instantly wake Azriel up the moment something happened to Aeliana.

If she stays in Yrniel, Azriel would never have to worry about her safety since everything would be in his own hands, but even then, instead of thinking about her safety and being in control, he decided to let go of having control and left his treasured daughter to a man far, far weaker than him.

Nux didn't know if he was capable of doing that.

He knew how scary loneliness was—heck, he had experienced it for a million years and had pretty much lost his mind—but even after knowing what he knew,

He highly doubted he would grow the willpower to compromise the safety of the ones he loved.

'I have so much room to grow…'

Nux couldn't help but think inwardly.

'Nux.'

Then suddenly, he heard a voice.

'Hm?'

'Astaria got the mission.'

Felberta informed, and Nux's smile widened.

"Let's get ready."

He spoke out loud.

"Where?"

Aeliana questioned.

"Core."

"Alright." Aeliana nodded.

Nux then opened the portal, and the two walked into the Core, where the rest of the women, who Nux had severed, along with Eisheth and Vulpiana, were present.

"Hey hey hey, let me read it as well."

Edda spoke excitedly as she reached Astaria, who had the mission details in her hand.

"Why are you, out of all people, so excited?" Ember couldn't help but question.

"Heh. Who knows? My dream might finally come true."

Edda laughed mysteriously, and the rest of the women stared at her as if they were staring at a madwoman.

After all, they knew what this woman's 'dream' was. There was no 'mystery' here.

"Give it to me."

Ember just extended her hand, and Astaria passed the details to her. The rest of the women all surrounded Ember and started reading as well.

Mission: Crush Tandris

Mission Description:

The war between Velcria and Tandris has continued for hundreds of years. The World's Will plays a crucial role in this conflict, granting its natives significant advantages when fighting on their home world. This makes invasions costly and inefficient, leading to a prolonged stalemate. Velcria, desperate to break this deadlock, has turned to elite mercenaries to ensure their victory.

Mission Objective:

The mercenaries are tasked with leading the Velcrian forces to victory by:

Conquering Tandris's Capital, Draventhis. Crippling Tandris's ability to retaliate and forcing unconditional surrender.

Important Points:

World's Will Detection: The moment mercenaries enter Tandris, the World's Will will inform Tandris's leadership of their arrival and provide their live locations. Stealth and infiltration are impossible.

Natives' Advantage: Velcrian forces will be weakened since they won't be in their home world. Tandris's defenders will be much more powerful because of the Tandris's Will supporting them.

No Direct Assistance: The factions the two worlds are part of will not intervene directly; mercenaries are to rely on their own skills, tactics, and the Velcrian forces.

Desired Outcome of the Mission:

Velcria's Victory: The fall of Draventhis marks the end of the war. Tandris's leadership surrenders, and Velcria claims dominance over the enemy world. Once they win, Velcrian forces can be used as reinforcements by their faction, and Velcria's status in their faction would rise.

Rewards:

1 Million Mercenary Points.

Bonus Rewards:

Relics, Treasures, and Artifacts recovered from Draventhis (Conditions applied).

Permanent status as elite partners of Velcria's ruling council, granting access to exclusive contracts, missions, and resources.

Reputation: Successfully completing this mission will cement your mercenary party's reputation as legends capable of turning the tide of world-shaping conflicts.

"Woah…"

Edda couldn't help but voice her amazement. It wasn't just her; the rest of the women were taken aback as well.

"This… is much grander than I thought."

Rune commented, and Thyra nodded with a solemn look on her face.

"I thought the mission would be enlisting into a world's army as soldiers and then continuing from there."

Melia muttered, and the others nodded.

"Mhm, this one looks like all the control is given to us." Aisha nodded.

"There were missions where we were enlisted into armies; those missions were from middle-level worlds. There were even some from low-level worlds, but the rewards were low."

Astaria answered. Read new adventures at empire

"Rewards?" Allura frowned.

After all, the last thing they cared about was rewards.

"Reputation."

Astaria clarified.

"Even if we are now Elite Mercenaries, we aren't the best. Yes, we can take any missions we want; however, the elite missions are different from normal missions. In these missions, the one who enlisted them can decide whether they want a certain party on their mission or not.

Our party's reputation only extends to our mercenary world. In the other mercenary worlds, we are nothing but a nameless party.

There are chances we might get rejected by the party that enlisted the mission. This is also the reason it takes a few days to accept elite missions; it doesn't get accepted until the enlisting party approves of us.

Actually, before this, our party was rejected two times."

"We were rejected…?"

Ember blinked.

"Mhm."

Astaria.

"The only reason Velcria accepted us was because we never failed even a single mission till now.

Also, the rumors of us annihilating that Titan's Party might have had a hand in it as well."

"The rumors spread that far?"

Allura was surprised.

"Well, they are in a pinch, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they do their research."

Astaria shrugged.

"But still...

We were rejected...

That too, in a Mission related to a War."

Ember spoke in a low voice.

"I guess we need to make a name for ourselves in this mission to make sure that doesn't happen again, no?"

Astaria grinned, then her grin widened even further and,

"Also, Nux said we do not need to hold back any longer.

So… my fellow Leanders, go all out."

The swordswoman then glanced at the dragon and,

"We will be relying on you, General."
