Chapter 14: Leaving The Undead Mountain Range
Huai’an Nord looked at the five surviving Black Armored soldiers.
“Commander!” The five soldiers raised their swords in salute.
“You sent the distress signal, right? What happened? And how did you find my younger brother?” Huai’an asked, with an irresistible aura of majesty when facing his subordinates
“Commander, we were surrounded by the undead creatures while searching for the fifth young master. It was the young master who saved us,” said the captain. He called Qi Bei ‘fifth young master’ because Qi Bei was the fifth in line among the legitimate children of the Nord family.
Huai’an was stunned. Did his younger brother save them? He turned his head to look at Qi Bei.
“I also saw the signal nearby and came to take a look, but I was too late. The five brothers had already died, all for the sake of finding me. I will always remember this,” Qi Bei said seriously.
“Not bad, little guy. Take a punch from your big brother,” Huai’an shouted and suddenly threw a punch like thunder at Qi Bei’s chest.
The wind from the punch tore through the air, bringing a burst of explosive sound.
Qi Bei didn’t move and took the punch head-on.
With a “boom,” both their bodies shook slightly.
“Big brother, you underestimate me. I’m not the same as before. Come at me with everything you’ve got,” Qi Bei said, curling his lips. Huai’an’s punch was purely brute force and didn’t use any Battle Qi.
“Hahaha, good. You little brat, don’t beg for mercy later,” Huai’an laughed. He had forgotten that since Qi Bei had been able to survive in the Undead Mountain Range for nearly nine months, it meant that he must have had some adventures.
Huai’an pulled out his black sword from behind him. The blade was black, but the edge shimmered with blue-green light. When he used his battle qi, the blade emitted a three-foot-long green light, with a faint sounds of a tiger roar.
Huai’an battle Qi technique was the Mad Tiger Tyrannical Technique, a King-grade battle qi technique.
In contrast, the black sword in Qi Bei’s hand looked dull and ordinary, but when he shook it, a circle of golden light radiated from it, accompanied by a faint dragon roar.
“Big brother, be careful,” Qi Bei whispered, and his long sword suddenly stabbed forward.
At the tip of the sword, the golden Qi condensed into a sharp cone, which shot toward Huai’an like lightning.
“Good timing,” Huai’an laughed, leaning his body to one side. His battle qi formed a tiger head and pounced toward Qi Bei.
However, as soon as Huai’an launched his attack, his heart skipped a beat, and his body suddenly shrank. He saw that the cone of Qi that Qi Bei had stabbed past had turned into the shape of a dragon tail and was now swinging toward him.
“Good kid.” Huai’an almost got hit by Qi Bei’s attack. He knew that even if Qi Bei’s strength was weaker than his, it wouldn’t be by much. So he stopped holding back.
The two brothers intertwined like lightning, their golden and black auras clashing and sending rocks flying. The sounds of tiger roars and dragon cries filled the air.
Iron Head, who was watching from a distance, suddenly slapped himself in the face and said with a gaping mouth, “I was such a foul mouth, the Fifth Young Master is so powerful. I looked down on him in vain, I deserve to be slapped.”
In the Black Armored Army, who didn’t know about the fighting prowess of Huai’an Nord, this fierce tiger? Although he was still at the level of a senior warrior, his battle qi technique was a king-grade battle qi technique and coupled with a fifth-order magic beast the earth-splitting Tiger, he wouldn’t lose to an ordinary king-level warrior.
Now, the Fifth Young Master who was rumored to be a waste was actually fighting on par with him, so how could they not be surprised?
The strongest in the army were respected, the bigger their fists and the louder their voices. Fifth Young Master suddenly became taller among these Black Armored soldiers.
“Boom!”
With a loud noise and feral aura, the two figures separated.
Huai’an retreated seven or eight steps, while Qi Bei retreated more than ten steps.
Between the two of them was a large pit several meters in diameter.
“Good job, kid. Tell me honestly, what level are you now?” Huai’an asked.
“Uh, I should be an Intermediate warrior now.” Qi Bei shrugged.
An Intermediate warrior!
The five Black Armored soldiers looked at each other in confusion. Was an intermediate-level warrior really that powerful? Huai’an was already a freak, but they didn’t expect Qi Bei to be even more of a freak.
“Good, judging from the concentration of your battle qi, I also guessed you should be an intermediate warrior, but your battle qi is incredibly resilient and destructive. What surprised me even more is that I fought with you for so long, yet you didn’t show any signs of exhaustion. Haha, from now on, no one will dare to call you a waste. Father will be so happy when he finds out.” Huai’an laughed heartily, his laughter full of relief and the pleasure of venting his frustration.
Qi Bei smiled. His intermediate-level warrior status was due to the combination of the Wild Dragon Battle Qi Technique, a holy-grade technique, and the support of the Divine Dragon Art’s internal energy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to last for so long.
“We’re both sick of this Undead Mountain Range. Let’s pack up and head back to the capital today so that father can relax as soon as possible.” Huai’an said. If it weren’t for looking for Qi Bei, he wouldn’t have stayed in this place filled with death for so long.
Qi Bei sat on his older brother’s magic pet, the earth-splitting Tiger, and quickly returned to the Black Armored Army camp. The five soldiers returned with four other teams who had come to rescue them.
When the earth-splitting roar of the tiger beast shook the air, Qi Bei saw two delicate soldiers approaching them.
“Brother, you seem to be in a good mood with these women.” Qi Bei joked, wrinkling his nose. He could smell the powder on these soldiers and immediately realized that they were actually women, one of whom he seemed to recognize.
Huai’an smiled awkwardly. For ordinary people, this would be a lucky encounter, but for him, as the legitimate heir of the Nord family, it was somewhat troublesome.
“Commander, you’re back.” Princess Ruixue was overjoyed, her eyes fixed on Huai’an. It was clear that she had a deep admiration for him.
“Yes, I have found Qi Bei. We will return to the capital immediately.” Huai’an Nord nodded.
Only then did Princess Ruixue turn to look at Qi Bei, her eyes filled with surprise. Her red lips opened as if she wanted to say something, but she couldn’t bring herself to speak.
At this point, Qi Bei had already remembered Princess Ruixue’s identity, but he still pretended to be unaware and smiled at her.
Normally, he should have shown more respect to his brother’s woman and addressed her as “sister-in-law”. If she were just an ordinary woman, it would have been fine, but she was a member of the royal family. So he couldn’t casually call her that, lest it offends the Feng family’s daughter who was betrothed to his brother.
In the past, the soul of this body was muddled and unable to see things clearly when it came to family matters. But now, Qi Bei was a person with a clear mind and after reviewing his memories, many things became clear to him.
Suddenly, Qi Bei felt the black long sword in his hand tremble slightly. He caught a whiff of a faint dark aura and glanced over to see a cold glint in the eyes of the maid beside Princess Ruixue. He became instantly wary.
‘Strange, does this sword have some special function?’ Qi Bei thought to himself.
Huai’an patted Qi Bei’s shoulder and winked at him with a mysterious smile. “Qi Bei, your dream is about to come true.”
“What?” Qi Bei was confused.
“The Emperor has publicly announced that if you come back alive, he will betroth Princess Ming Yue to you.” Huai’an laughed heartily, imagining how unpleasant the face of Emperor Han Mo would be.
It was a great honor for Princess Ming Yue to have caught the eye of the Heavenly Mountain Peak and she was about to become a disciple of the Holy Land.
However, once Emperor Han Mo made a decision, it would be difficult to reverse. His genius daughter was going to be given away to Qi Bei.
The Heavenly Mountain Peak was high and mighty, and once one entered, they were not allowed to intervene in the struggles between the families. Therefore, the concern of being oppressed by them did not exist for the Nord family.
Qi Bei furrowed his brow. Now he remembered the seemingly indifferent but actually proud gaze of Princess Ming Yue, he felt uncomfortable. Perhaps he could find a way to avoid this marriage. He was not a masochist.
After the last team of Black Armored soldiers returned to the camp, Huai’an ordered the camp to immediately leave the Undead Mountain Range.
By the time it was dark, the Black Armored soldiers had left the vicinity of the Undead Mountain Range.
