Chapter 724: Final Fight: Last

High above, Nox's Inferno Dragon form shuddered with unbearable pain.

The [Limit Breaker] buff kept him conscious when he should have already collapsed, but even that incredible power had its limits.

A gaping wound in his chest spilled smoke.

With a ragged, heaving breath, Nox realized he could not maintain this form any longer.

If he took another hit like that, he would surely die.

His draconic eyes flickered downward.

Noir was already gathering more spears amid the smoke-filled sky, preparing to finish it.

Nox made a swift decision that shocked everyone watching below: he voluntarily canceled his Beast Form.

One moment, a giant Inferno Dragon hovered over the battlefield; the next, it shrank and dissolved into motes of red light.

He reverted to his human form mid-air, covered in blood and wounds.

Freed from the dragon's bulk, his body plummeted like a stone.

"He's falling!" Nathan shouted, his eyes locked on the distant figure tumbling from the sky.

A collective gasp of panic rose from the allied forces.

Aina felt her heart tighten, and Nyx's eyes widened as she saw her brother falling limply amid the smoke and rubble.

Noir watched the free fall, a predatory grin spreading across his face.

He thought the young man had given up or lost control. Regardless, the demon prince was determined to finish the job.

"Die knowing you fought well... but not well enough!" he snarled, pointing a finger at the plummeting Nox as dark energy rapidly converged.

Another Null Requiem spear — larger than all before — took shape, darkening the sky as if night had suddenly fallen.

This spear carried an overwhelming concentration of Noir's murderous intent, aimed to obliterate Nox's falling body completely.

With a triumphant laugh, he hurled it down at his helpless target.

FWOOOSH!

The spear whistled through the air, leaving a trail of crackling miasma.

The allies on the ground could only watch in despair — there was no way to reach him in time.

The spear struck Nox's falling figure in a blinding flash.

BOOOOOM!!

An explosion of light and darkness swallowed the sky where he had been.

The shockwave rippled outward, toppling anyone still standing and extinguishing fires across the battlefield.

For an instant, everything was deathly silent and blindingly bright.

Then darkness fell over the capital, as if the sun itself had been devoured by the blast.

All eyes fixed on that point in the sky, hearts pounding with dread.

Wendy, cradling her mother's lifeless body, looked up with tears streaming, hoping against hope.

Nathan and Adrian stared upward, their faces pale.

Even Noir paused, shoulders heaving as he waited to see the result.

The dust and light gradually began to clear.

At first, there was nothing but haze.

Then... a figure appeared within the fading glow.

Nox was still there.

Suspended in mid-air, one hand stretched forward lazily as if he had caught the spear bare-handed.

A soft, eerie glow shrouded him — a mixture of silvery light and a dark, vengeful aura swirling together.

His eyes were closed, and for a moment, he looked almost serene despite the blood and soot covering his skin.

Noir's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Impossible..." he muttered.

That spear should have vaporized anyone, no matter how strong.

"Why won't you just die?!" he roared, anger twisting his handsome features.

Suddenly, a voice echoed.

"Vengeful Retribution..."

Nox's voice, barely more than a whisper, somehow carried everywhere at once.

All at once, the glow around him intensified into a brilliant radiance.

In the blink of an eye, the grievous wound in his chest began to heal.

Flesh and bone knitted back together as if time itself were rewinding on his body. Cuts and burns vanished without a trace, his form restored within seconds.

Nox opened his eyes, burning with resolve. An aura of vengeance exploded from him, a deep crimson shroud interlaced with flickers of black.

Noir instinctively flinched, sensing something was terribly wrong.

He snarled and summoned lightning around his fists, preparing to strike again — only to cough in surprise.

A thin line of blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, then another.

Suddenly, an agonizing pain stabbed through his chest, as if invisible spikes were impaling his organs.

"What... what is this?!" Noir gasped.

All over his body, wounds appeared out of thin air — deep gashes slicing through flesh, miasmic burns searing his skin.

They were the exact injuries Nox had suffered moments ago as a dragon, now visited upon Noir tenfold.

Nox hovered, supported by his demonic wings flapping slowly in the air.

"You wanted to see something new...? This is the end for you, Noir."

The demon prince's eyes bulged in disbelief and agony.

The spear of miasma that had impaled Nox — its reflected pain now tore through Noir's chest, ripping through muscle and bone like paper.

His body convulsed, and he let out a scream — not entirely human — as the aura of vengeance ravaged him from within.

It felt as if his very soul was being shredded.

On the ground, soldiers and demons alike watched in stunned silence as the once-invincible prince writhed in mid-air, blood spraying.

In a mere thirty seconds, the mighty demon had been reduced from terror to a broken, dying wretch.

Noir's lightning flickered and died, his dark aura collapsing.

"No... this... this cannot be!" he choked, crimson blood bubbling from his lips.

He glared at Nox with hatred and fear, but there was nothing left to muster.

With one last defiant howl, Noir's eyes rolled back. His body gave a final violent shudder as the last of the reflected damage struck like an executioner's blade.

A soundless snap echoed through his being, and the light in his eyes dimmed.

The dreaded prince plummeted from the sky, crashing into the ground below with a resounding impact.

BOOM!

Afterward, a long silence followed.

Noir's shattered body lay in the rubble, twisted unnaturally and completely motionless.

One of the strongest demons in existence had fallen.
