Chapter 125: Fight II
Jason stood frozen, his feet rooted to the spot, his mind struggling to process what was unfolding before him. Ryan's lips moved against someone else's, their figures pressed together in a way that shattered something deep inside him. His heart sank like a stone, the weight of it crushing his chest as his thoughts spiraled, breaking everything around him into pieces.
No. No, this can't be real.
He wanted to look away, to pretend he hadn't seen anything, but he couldn't. His body betrayed him, locking him in place as his brain fought to catch up. Then he heard it.
"What if the others come?" a soft, feminine voice whispered.
Jason's heart stopped. That voice—he knew that voice.
"Don't worry," Ryan's voice followed, calm and self-assured. "They're all downstairs in the pool area."
Jason's ears rang as his heart began to race, pounding so loudly it felt like it would burst out of his chest. His thoughts spun faster, tangling and colliding as the weight of recognition crept into his mind.
No… it couldn't be.
But the voice echoed in his head, familiar and unmistakable. His body tensed as he saw them lean closer, about to continue. He didn't even realize he'd spoken until the name slipped out of his mouth like a jagged whisper.
"Claire."
The sound of it seemed to stop the world around him. Both figures flinched, their movements halting. For a moment, the silence was deafening. Then they scrambled apart, Ryan's head whipping around first.
Jason felt his stomach churn as Ryan's face shifted into a deep frown, his jaw tightening at the sight of him. But Jason wasn't looking at Ryan anymore.
His eyes were locked on the smaller figure stepping hesitantly from behind him, her movements timid, almost fearful. Jason's breath caught in his throat as he recognized her—her posture, her face, the way she tried to shrink into herself.
It was Claire.
"Claire," Jason said again, the name trembling from his lips like it burned. His voice was raw, disbelieving, desperate for it to not be true.
Claire didn't respond. She shifted uncomfortably, her gaze darting to the floor, then back to Ryan as though searching for some sort of shield. She moved closer to Ryan's side, leaning into his larger frame, as if hiding behind him would erase what Jason had seen.
Jason's mind spiraled further, a storm of emotions raging inside him.
How? Why? When?
The questions looped endlessly, crashing into each other like waves, leaving him reeling. His sister. His sister. With Ryan.
The betrayal cut deeper than anything he'd ever felt. He wanted to yell, to demand answers, but his throat felt tight, his words trapped behind the suffocating weight in his chest.
Instead, he stood there, his fists clenched at his sides, his thoughts a chaotic blur. The image of Claire leaning into Ryan's build burned into his mind, a sight he knew he'd never forget.
"Why?" he whispered, his voice barely audible as the question escaped him. But neither Ryan nor Claire spoke. They just stood there, caught, as the silence stretched unbearably between them.
Jason's heart continued to sink, each second that passed tearing him further apart.
Jason's chest heaved with rage as he stared at the scene before him. His sister, still cowering behind Ryan, wouldn't even meet his eyes. The weight of her betrayal stung sharper than any insult he'd ever endured.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Claire?" Jason finally roared, his voice cracking with fury. "You're my sister! My sister! And you…" He jabbed a finger at Ryan, his glare piercing. "You're disgusting. Do you even feel remorse?"
Ryan crossed his arms, his expression calm, unbothered. He tilted his head, exhaling as though Jason's anger was an inconvenience. "I don't get why you're so worked up," he said, his voice laced with irritation.
That set Jason off further. "Worked up? Worked up?! You kissed my sister, you asshole!" His voice echoed in the hallway, vibrating with every ounce of pent-up fury he had.
"I kissed her, yeah," Ryan shot back, stepping forward, his tone rising. "But last time I checked, she's not a child. She's allowed to make her own decisions!"
Jason clenched his fists so tightly his nails dug into his palms. He could feel his temper boiling over, the urge to punch Ryan building with every second. Just as he took a step closer, ready to explode, the door to the suite flew open.
Lily and Amanda rushed in, their faces full of concern.
"What the hell is going on?" Lily asked, her gaze darting between the three of them.
Jason didn't even look at her. His anger turned to her brother instead. He pointed at Ryan, his face twisted with rage. "What's going on? Ask your pedophile brother what he was doing with my sister!"
Ryan immediately raised his hands defensively. "Whoa, dude! Pedophile? Seriously? I'm still 18! My birthday's a few months away!"
Jason's glare hardened. "I don't give a damn about your technicalities. You're older than her, and you should know better!"
Then Amanda's voice cut through the noise, trembling with what sounded like a mix of confusion and hurt. "What… happened?"
Jason turned to her, desperate for someone to side with him. "Can you believe this? I caught him kissing my sister. He was basically forcing her!"
"No!" Claire's voice finally broke through, shrill and panicked. She stepped out from behind Ryan, her face pale as she shook her head. "No, it wasn't like that! It was… it was consensual."
Jason froze. The word hit him like a punch to the gut. He turned to her slowly, his voice cracking. "What?"
Claire fidgeted under his gaze, her hands twisting nervously. "It was consensual," she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
Before Jason could respond, Amanda's voice sliced through the room like a knife. "You slut!"
Jason snapped his head toward her, shocked. "What the hell did you just say?"
Amanda ignored him, her eyes burning with anger as she glared at Claire. "Look at her! I'm sure she lured him. That's just what girls like her do."
Jason's shock turned to fury. He stepped closer to Amanda, his voice rising. "Don't you dare talk about my sister like that!"
"Why not? She deserves it!" Amanda shot back, her voice dripping with venom.
The room erupted into chaos. Jason shouted at Amanda. Claire tried to defend herself, her words drowned out by the noise. Ryan snapped at Jason to back off. Amanda hurled more insults, her anger unchecked. And through it all, Lily's voice kept cutting in, desperate to calm everyone down.
"Enough! Everyone, just shut up!" Lily's shout silenced the room, but the tension hung thick in the air.
Amanda glared at Jason, her voice trembling with anger. "I should've never invited you guys. You just ruin everything."
Before Jason could respond, Ryan, who had been scrolling through his phone, looked up with an awkward cough. "Uh… guys?"
Everyone turned to him, still fuming.
"About the concert…" Ryan said, holding up his phone. "It's… cancelled."
"What?!" the group shouted in unison.
Ryan turned his phone around, showing them a news article. "Ethan Jones' Texas concert cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances."
The argument reignited immediately, everyone talking over each other. Jason barely registered the chaos. His frustration had reached a boiling point, and he couldn't stand another second in the same room.
"I'm out of here," he muttered, storming out and slamming the door behind him.
Jason wandered aimlessly through the hotel, his anger simmering beneath the surface. He couldn't think straight, his thoughts clouded by everything that had happened. Claire. Ryan. Amanda. The ruined concert. It all felt like too much.
As he paced through the dimly lit hallways, he heard a burst of laughter coming from the lounge area.
"…Taylor, that song was insane. Can't wait for the world to hear it," a male voice said, light and carefree.
Jason's ears perked up. He glanced toward the source of the voice, spotting two figures lounging on a couch near the hotel's bar.
A feminine voice responded, soft and melodic. "It was all you, Ethan you are really talented. And thanks for following me outside. I just needed the fresh air from all that ruckus in the room you really gave them work to do." the voice said laughing
Jason froze. Ethan? the name that started all this
He took a step closer, his curiosity piqued despite himself. The guy turned slightly, his blond hair catching the light. Jason's breath hitched as recognition hit him. The blue eyes. The perfect smile.
Ethan Jones. he could not forget that man with how many times he had googled him and all
Jason's mind blanked as everything from the night crashed down on him. The concert, the chaos, the frustration, his savings—all of it centered on the man who had disrupted his plans.
Before he could stop himself, Jason's body moved on instinct. His anger boiled over, blinding him to everything else. He charged forward, his fist flying.
The punch connected squarely with Ethan's face, sending him stumbling back.
"OMG, Ethan!" the girl screamed, her voice shrill with shock.
Jason stood there, his fist still clenched, his chest heaving with rage.
