Chapter 624: Chapter 625: Stepping on the Demon Child
"You're still wet behind the ears, and you're already trying to force yourself on girls?" Just as Brandon was staring blankly at the scissors in the aftermath of his misfortune, a teasing voice rang out. Hancock's figure appeared at the large hole in the side of the house, which he used to locate Brandon.
"It's you?! You're not dead?" Upon hearing Hancock's voice, Brandon jerked his head up to look at Hancock, his eyes once again glowing red.
With a "shhh" sound, a terrifying laser shot out from Brandon's eyes. However, this time, Hancock was prepared and reacted much faster than before, successfully dodging the laser attack.
But just like the last time Hancock dodged a bullet, it seemed that some element of bad luck always accompanied him. Every action he took invariably caused some unnecessary accident.
"Boom!" As Hancock dodged the laser, a house not far away was bombarded. Whether or not there were people inside would only be known after the fact; at least Hancock was unaware at the moment.
Even though he didn't know if there were people in the house, Hancock was filled with rage and deep self-reproach. He began to doubt whether he was really cut out to be a superhero like Superman, given that his actions always seemed to cause collateral damage to innocent people...
"Ahhhh!" The sudden outburst of battle scared Catherine, especially since Brandon, after releasing the laser, was floating in mid-air. His face, illuminated by the laser from his eyes, was blood-red, making him look like a demon that had just indulged in bloodlust and slaughter.
"Damn it! I can't fight him here! Why can't I shoot lasers from my eyes?" Hancock cursed inwardly as he quickly shouted at Brandon, "Little brat, is this all you've got? If so, you better go home and drink your milk!"
With a "whoosh," Brandon's figure disappeared from his original spot before Hancock's taunting had even finished. However, this time, Hancock seemed to have a clearer view, realizing Brandon's movements. He too flew backward, intending to lead Brandon to an uninhabited area. Even if he couldn't defeat Brandon, he at least wanted to prevent him from killing more innocents.
"Hmm?" Brandon hadn't expected Hancock to dodge his attack again. Seeing Hancock flying away, he noticed that Hancock's speed seemed faster than before. A hint of displeasure flashed in Brandon's eyes as he increased his speed to give chase, his voice drifting out coldly, "After taunting me, you run away like a stray dog?"
Brandon's taunt had no effect on Hancock, who didn't hear a word as he flew away. Brandon's voice dissipated several meters behind, unable to catch up with Hancock's flying speed.
Hancock's disregard only fueled Brandon's anger, making him chase even faster, quickly closing the gap between them.
"What the hell?!" Feeling the increasing pressure from behind, Hancock turned to see Brandon closing in, cursing as he noticed that his own speed seemed to increase as well, as if a new power was emerging within him.
"Hmm?!" Just as Brandon was getting close, a look of excitement appeared in his eyes, eager to catch Hancock and tear him apart to ensure he was truly dead this time. However, just as he was about to make his move, he found the distance between them widening again!
"You're playing with me?!" Brandon mistakenly thought Hancock was deliberately hiding his strength, infuriating him. His eyes glowed red as a terrifying laser shot toward Hancock's body.
Despite their frightening speed, both Hancock and Brandon were still slow compared to the laser. The red beam instantly caught up to Hancock, hitting his back. Hancock shuddered, almost falling to the ground.
"Damn it! Do you think you can bully me?" Feeling the burning pain in his back, Hancock became furious. They had flown into an uninhabited area, and he was ready to fight back.
With a "whoosh," Hancock turned abruptly, charging at Brandon. Brandon, caught off guard after just firing his laser, couldn't dodge or counterattack as easily as before.
With a "bang," Brandon's body was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground and creating a large pit.
"Awesome!" Hancock cheered, feeling that this was the most satisfying punch he'd ever thrown. Of course, it would have been better if it had killed Brandon outright, but clearly, Brandon wasn't that easy to kill.
Just as Hancock finished cheering, a terrifying aura rose from the ground, causing the earth to tremble. A red light began to emanate from the pit.
"Holy crap!" Hancock's pupils contracted as he narrowly dodged a massive red laser, swallowing nervously as he looked at the pit.
Hancock initially thought his growing strength might help him defeat Brandon, but now it seemed Brandon's power-up was even more terrifying. Hancock, who had hoped for a fair fight, now doubted his chances...
"This isn't scientific. How can he be so strong?" Hancock's resolve began to waver. He thought it best to understand his own abilities and see if he could further improve before considering another fight with Brandon. For now, finding Clark seemed more prudent, as Superman was the one meant to handle such extraordinary threats.
"You deserve to die!" Brandon's voice, like it came from the depths of hell, echoed around as his body rose from the pit, glowing red. His eyes emitted a blinding red light, making it impossible for Hancock to look directly at him. Brandon's icy voice continued, "You had a chance to be my slave in conquering the world, but you repeatedly challenged me, a god. You are guilty!"
"What nonsense? You, a god? Do you think you can conquer the world? Haven't you heard of the human god, Superman?" Despite his previous animosity towards Clark, Hancock now didn't hesitate to bring him up as a shield against the invincible Brandon.
"A human god? Just a false god! If he behaves, he can be my servant and help me conquer the world. But if he disobeys, he will end up like you..." Brandon's aura grew even more intense as he mentioned Clark, thinking that his abilities were far superior to what Clark had displayed.
"The same fate? What fate?" Before Brandon could finish his sentence, a voice interrupted. Kara hovered in the air, looking at Brandon with surprise, "Such big words for someone so young. Didn't your parents teach you to be humble?"
"Hmm?!" Kara's appearance made both Hancock and Brandon narrow their eyes. Neither recognized her, making it uncertain whose side she was on. However, compared to the cautious Hancock, Brandon was more reckless.
"Parents? You mean the ones I blasted their brains out and the other I smashed into pulp? Mere mortals. I'm not their biological son. They raised me for ten years, but they are unworthy to be my parents. I came to Earth to conquer it as a god. No one can teach me!" Brandon sneered at Kara, completely devoid of humanity, his heart filled only with conquest and destruction.
"You killed your own parents?! You're a monster!" Kara's pupils contracted in shock. She had come to investigate the commotion, only to find Brandon was a heartless demon, driving her into a rage.
"Seeing your pretty face and decent abilities, I considered making you my slave. But you dared mock a great god. Your punishment will be..." Brandon's face darkened as he glared at Kara with malice.
With a "bang," before Brandon could finish, a large foot appeared on his face, stomping him from mid-air to the ground. However, instead of being embedded in the ground, an invisible force kept Brandon's body suspended, crushing him between the foot and the ground.
"Bastard!" Brandon, who saw himself as a god, had never been so humiliated. His fury now surpassed even his anger at Kyle and Tori's betrayal. He tried to turn his head to see who was stepping on him, but his neck wouldn't budge.
This unexpected situation enraged Brandon further. He swung his fists at the leg pinning him down, but suddenly, several rings bound his wrists and ankles, leaving him unable to move.
"Spewing nonsense at such a young age! What? Don't like me stepping on you? How dare you offend her?!" Robert's voice rang out.
Robert had split up with Kara, but he also noticed the commotion with Brandon and Hancock. Upon hearing Brandon's offensive words to Kara, he became furious. After all, Kara had nearly died before. Even though Mamon was eventually dealt with by Robert and sacrificed by Constantine, Robert's anger hadn't fully dissipated.
Especially since Lucifer had not only left Earth but was also suspected of orchestrating these disastrous events, making the Avengers run ragged. Robert was already seething and seized the chance to vent his anger on Brandon.
"No way? I finally found someone seemingly powerful, and you beat me to it?" Kara floated beside Robert, pouting playfully despite her delight, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
