Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 428: Chapter 428: The Discovered Shadow

"Harry, what's wrong? Is something wrong with your uncle?" asked Mary Jane, who was sitting next to Harry Osborn and looking at him with concern.

Although Harry Osborn hadn't been in the best state for some time, today he seemed worse than ever, which made Mary Jane even more worried.

"No, my father has already contacted me. He will be back at the company soon. However, he is planning to retire. He wants me to take over the company's affairs as soon as possible," Harry Osborn said, shaking his head slowly and sighing.

"Wow, that's good news! Now I can tell everyone my good friend is the chairman of Osborn Group!" Peter Parker joked, looking at Harry Osborn with a smile. "Besides, your uncle is getting on in years. It's about time for him to retire. You're the only son in the family, so it's your responsibility to take over."

"Yeah…" Harry Osborn sighed silently. He knew Peter Parker was right. Even if Norman Osborn was in good health, Harry should still start getting involved with Osborn Group's affairs.

However, Harry Osborn's own physical condition was deteriorating. Knowing about Norman Osborn's situation, Harry hadn't mentioned that he was feeling weaker himself.

"Serum... Spider-Man..." Thinking of this, Harry Osborn's thoughts became scattered. He desperately wanted to talk about these things but sadly realized he couldn't tell anyone. He had to keep it all to himself.

Harry Osborn didn't know that the Spider-Man he was thinking about was sitting right next to him, worriedly watching him.

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, after recovering somewhat from his injuries, decided to return to Osborn Group. For now, he hadn't found a way to capture or kill Peter Parker.

Forcing Peter Parker to come out wasn't difficult, but the problem was how to defeat him. After a brief confrontation, Norman Osborn knew that bullets were useless against Peter Parker. Even low-energy weapons couldn't harm him.

To defeat Peter Parker, Norman Osborn needed more powerful force or to create more powerful energy. Alternatively, he needed more intelligence on Peter Parker to find a weakness to exploit.

However, Norman Osborn had to put these thoughts aside for now as he needed to deal with matters at Osborn Group. The company's stock had taken a significant hit, and recovering would take time.

Many senior executives at Osborn Group were dissatisfied with Norman Osborn. If he didn't hold significant control and a large number of shares, they might have forced him out of his position.

Even so, the senior executives demanded an explanation for the drop in stock prices caused by Norman Osborn's actions.

"Norman! What have you been doing all this time? Did you kill Scott?" When Norman Osborn returned for a meeting, the senior executives immediately questioned him.

Scott was the scientist Norman Osborn had killed, though the executives had no evidence. Still, they accused him to suppress his arrogance.

"If it was just one murder, do you think I'd need to disappear for so long? A single life, what's it worth?" Norman Osborn scoffed. Though he had killed Scott, he would never admit it in front of the executives.

He might disdain a human life, but if he admitted to murder and it got out, it would be a significant blow to him. The executives could use it to overthrow him.

Norman Osborn wouldn't admit it, but he also wouldn't back down. In his mind, Osborn Group was his, and the executives were just scavengers.

"You claim you didn't kill him, but where have you been all this time? Do you know how much the company and we personally lost because of Scott's death and your mysterious disappearance?" The executives continued to press, determined to get a piece of Norman Osborn.

"So, the money you have, wasn't it earned by me? The company's stock fell because of my absence, proving it can't do without me. Now that I'm back, I'm announcing that my son will gradually take over the company. Who agrees? Who opposes?" Norman Osborn asked, his anger barely contained.

"Norman, aren't you being too arrogant? I oppose…" One executive shouted, though most were intimidated by Norman Osborn's glare.

With a sudden slap on the conference table, the long table collapsed, and several people stumbled and fell. Everyone looked at Norman Osborn in fear, not understanding his sudden display of strength.

Norman Osborn might not have Stark's control over his company, but only he knew about critical projects like the serum research.

The executives were just there to profit. Company decisions and directions were entirely under Norman Osborn's control. They only stepped forward because of their losses, hoping to threaten him.

But seeing Norman Osborn's inhuman strength, they became fearful. They didn't dare to challenge him further, fearing for their lives.

Knowing they wouldn't risk themselves to take him down, the room fell silent. Only Norman Osborn's heavy breathing was heard, each breath making the executives more nervous.

"Alright, as I said, once Harry takes over, everything will return to normal. You'll get your profits. But if anyone tries anything behind my back, don't blame me for what happens!" Norman Osborn finally calmed down, realizing he needed to leave a stable company for Harry.

Reluctantly, the executives exchanged glances but remained silent. None of them wanted to be the one to stand up and challenge Norman Osborn.

After the meeting, Norman Osborn began to set the company back on track and brought Harry Osborn in to familiarize him with the business.

Norman Osborn then focused on gathering more information about Spider-Man and researching ways to create powerful weapons like Tony Stark's.

Meanwhile, Peter Parker breathed a sigh of relief as Norman Osborn's return meant he no longer had to search for him. He assumed Harry Osborn was just stressed about inheriting the company.

If Peter Parker were a normal person, he might help with the company, but as Spider-Man, he couldn't risk exposure.

"Huh? What's that?" One day, while patrolling, Peter Parker saw a shadow flash by, and someone collapsed.

Rushing over, he found the person still breathing but seemingly asleep rather than unconscious.

"What's going on? Falling asleep in the street? How tired must they be?" Peter Parker muttered, confused.

He tried to wake the person but got no response, frowning as more people gathered.

Peter's reputation meant no one doubted him, and some suggested he take the person to the hospital.

"Good idea," Peter agreed, swinging away with the person. But as he left, another shadow appeared, and another person collapsed, unnoticed by Peter.

These incidents were caused by Tohru, who, unable to take down Clark and Robert, resorted to targeting ordinary people's shadows.

After previous successes, organizations had taken precautions, making it hard for Tohru to act. He decided to target ordinary people's shadows, hoping it wouldn't draw attention.

Tohru thought Clark and Robert couldn't monitor everywhere at once and wouldn't suspect him if people collapsed in the street occasionally.

However, he didn't expect his shadow soldiers' actions to be noticed by Peter Parker so quickly.
