Chapter 24: chapter 24
Why is everyone looking at Ben?
Because they are all curious about whether Ben can find a teammate.
Even if he finds one, who would be unlucky enough to team up with him?
Seeing the gazes of the crowd, William, standing at the podium, was also concerned about Ben's situation. After pondering for a moment, he spoke up:
"Ben, do you have a teammate yet? If not… I know some teachers at the academy; would you like me to ask them for you?"
The academy is not like a university. It is more like a vocational school.
The students who manage to get into the academy generally have weaker talents.
William did not mean to humiliate Ben by saying this; he was simply trying to help. Ben's talent was obvious, and William truly wanted to assist him.
"No need, teacher."
Ben smiled. "I've already found a teammate."
"Oh? Who is your teammate?" William asked curiously.
Ben didn't want to complicate matters, so he simply said, "It's a secret for now; everyone will know tomorrow."
William felt that the kid was lying.
However, since Ben had already rejected his offer of help, there was no point in pressing further.
"Alright, let's summarize your training results for this month."
William took out a tablet, glanced at the first student on his right, and said, "Arwan, let's start with you. Tell us your training progress for this month."
The girl named Arwan immediately stood up and reported, "This month, I have increased my physique by 5 points, my spirit by 2 points, and my strength by 6 points. My total attribute increase is 13 points."
Hearing this, many students looked at her with envy.
William nodded approvingly, clearly satisfied. "Not bad! You may sit down now."
He recorded Arwan's growth data in the student file and then looked at the next student.
Sitting next to Arwan was a tall, burly boy.
This student was quite famous among the freshmen because he had obtained a relatively outstanding talent—the "Sabertooth" mutant bloodline.
"Robert, what about you?"
Robert immediately stood up and reported his numbers confidently.
"This month, I have increased my physique by 16 points, my strength by 14 points, and my agility by 3 points. My total attribute increase is 33 points!"
A wave of exclamations erupted across the room.
Even William's eyes lit up.
"Excellent!" William couldn't help but praise.
He quickly recorded Robert's data and then looked at him with admiration. "Robert, perform well in the Spirit Realm. I have high hopes for your future!"
Hearing this, Robert grinned before sitting down.
The surrounding students looked at him with admiration and envy.
One after another, the students reported their attribute growth. Some were mediocre, while others were impressive.
The weaker students had increased their attributes by a dozen points in a month, while the stronger ones had increased theirs by twenty or thirty points.
Among the sixty or so students, Robert had the highest growth—33 points in a month!
That was equivalent to Ben's daily growth…
"Teacher, how much can real geniuses increase their attributes in a month?" a student asked curiously.
William smiled and replied, "Generally speaking, the better the talent, the more attribute points can be obtained through training. For instance, those with Natural system Devil Fruit abilities, if they are willing to train hard, can increase their attributes by fifty or sixty points in a month."
The students gasped in shock.
Even with just a dozen points, they already felt significantly stronger.
It was hard to imagine what it would be like to gain fifty or sixty points in a month.
Then, as if realizing something, everyone turned their gazes toward Ben.
This fool had given away the Burn-Burn Fruit that he had in his hands!
No one could understand why he would make such a decision.
Realizing he might have said the wrong thing, William quickly changed the subject.
"The highest record for attribute growth in the first month among all humans is held by the well-known powerhouse from North America, Samir Khan!"
"He possesses the powerful Hulk bloodline. After acquiring extraordinary talent, he gained a total of 97 attribute points through rigorous training in his first month!"
"This record has yet to be broken!"
A murmur of shock spread through the classroom.
Everyone widened their eyes in disbelief—except for Ben.
At that moment, Ben glanced at the total attribute panel in his left eye. It was about to exceed a thousand points.
What record?
It was just one-tenth of his own.
The Great Superman physique was truly incredible!
"For transcendents, talent is important," William continued, "but performance in the Spirit Realm is even more crucial!"
He seemed worried that students would feel discouraged, so he quickly added, "If you really want to become stronger, the key is the rewards from the Spirit Realm! If you perform well, you can even catch up with those who are naturally gifted!"
Meanwhile, in Class A next door…
Teacher Shen called out to Leo.
"Leo, how many attributes have you increased this month?"
All eyes turned toward Leo, waiting for his response.
Standing up, Leo calmly stated, "I have increased my physique by 7 points, my spirit by 49 points, my strength by 2 points, and my agility by 3 points."
Though he didn't explicitly state his total attribute growth, the students quickly did the math in their heads.
Leo's total attribute increase was 61 points!
A collective gasp filled the room.
Even Teacher Shen looked astonished.
"Impressive!" she said, nodding approvingly. "Leo, as long as you stay on the right path, you will undoubtedly become one of the strongest in the future!"
It was high praise.
The other students stared at Leo in admiration.
But Leo remained calm, his expression unchanged.
At that moment, Teacher Shen hesitated, then asked, "Leo, I can't stand by and let you make a mistake! I know you have rejected all the team invitations from your classmates… Can you tell me who you plan to team up with? Is it Ben from Class B?"
She had asked this question before.
But Leo had avoided answering directly, calling it a "secret."
Now, seeing her ask again—and specifically mentioning Ben—it was clear that she was worried about Leo's future.
She didn't want a talented student like him to team up with someone useless and ruin his potential.
But Leo remained calm.
"Teacher, I remember that in Chicago University's rules, Article 27 states that teachers cannot interfere with students' freedom to form teams."
Teacher Shen was momentarily speechless.
Leo continued, "I know you're concerned about me, but this is something I must do. Otherwise, I won't be able to sleep or eat in peace."
It was a subtle confirmation—his teammate was Ben.
