Chapter 098: Instance No. 10 Boss Battle (Part 3)

Ke Mingye adjusted the Electromagnetic Pulse Gloves on his right hand, his fingers snapping together with a series of clicks.

He slowly raised his eyes, staring at the figure standing at the bow who towered two and a half meters tall.

The captain was clad in a dark red pirate robe, lined with a tattered leather jacket. In his left hand, he held a silver-white long sword; in his right, a dark metal musket.

Besides that, he wore a red and black striped pirate hat, beneath which only one eye was open, the empty socket burning with a sinister blue flame; beneath his thick beard was a mouth curved in a grim smile.

[Boss Name: Ghost Pirate Captain—Gliva Chris]

In the sunlight, the pirate captain's shoulder armor glittered, reflecting the distinct sheen of steel. On his shoulder, a rainbow-feathered parrot whispered, "Gliva, I will take you back to that sea."

Ke Mingye gave Captain Gliva a couple of glances, then turned to look back at Magical Girl Hongyue, who was entangled by twelve pirates.

He considered going back to help, but Captain Gliva had already aimed his musket at him and pulled the trigger.

Bang!

Ke Mingye quickly ducked, the wave of heat brushing over his head as the gunpowder instead hit the barrels behind him. The exploding barrel sent a torrential blast that threw Ke Mingye a good four to five meters away.

Seeing Captain Gliva charging at him with the silver-white sword, he had no choice but to shoot a web at the mast and swing up into the air.

While Captain Gliva continued to shoot at him, Ke Mingye knew he couldn't come down from midair or he would be instantly riddled with bullets, so he aimed another web at the horizontal spar of the mast.

He clung to the web, circled around the mast once, climbed upward at an angle, and finally stepped onto the surface of the mast, leveraging a leap to arrive at the crow's-nest overlooking the sea.

Ke Mingye hid in the blind spot of the crow's-nest, relying on the mast and the floor of the crow's-nest to shield himself from the musket shots, as the roaring flames constantly grazed his face, causing blood to trickle from his ears.

"A learned man once said, the key in this instance is the parrot."

Ke Mingye, looking downward, observed the three pirate lackeys he had just knocked down.

It was evident their bodies were slowly regenerating, soon to regain their combat ability.

"It looks like, even if I injure the captain, he will probably regenerate slowly like his crew. It's going to be difficult to actually kill him."

"So there's no need to take down the Boss then, I just need to capture the parrot on his shoulder. It must be the parrot that provides them with the ability to move."

Ke Mingye turned his face and, while Captain Gliva was reloading, leapt down from the crow's-nest, hugged the mast sliding down, then tumbled onto the deck.

He raised his head sharply, lowered his right hand, and shot a web at Captain Gliva's shoulder, trying to capture the rainbow-feathered parrot.

But the web was cut in an instant by the silver-white sword and fell limply to the ground.

After reloading, Captain Gliva again lowered his face and continuously pulled the trigger shooting at Ke Mingye's body.

Ke Mingye rolled to the right to avoid the shots, the splattering gunpowder searing past him, the burning air scorching his skin and leaving a striking burn mark on his neck.

He gasped deeply, using his web shooter to leap back and forth across the pirate ship, sometimes to the sails, sometimes clutching the mast, and sometimes standing on the top of the forecastle.

Throughout, he repeatedly tried to capture the parrot on the captain's shoulder with his web, but each attempt failed as Captain Gliva, using his long sword, cut every incoming web that threatened the parrot.

Meanwhile, Captain Gliva, while suppressing him with gunfire, approached a barrel and fiercely threw it at Ke Mingye's next landing spot, then shot at the barrel.

Ke Mingye reacted, leaping backward while crossing his arms in front of his chest. Still, he was blasted several meters away by the explosion of the barrel, his feet scoring a dark trench on the ground.

The captain rushed forward, slightly leaning forward to gather momentum, and swung his silver-white chopping knife at Ke Mingye.

Ke Mingye, unable to dodge in time, raised his right hand, embedded with the metal glove, and activated the glove's second skill, layering the surface with violent electric currents.

Then he thrust his fingers forward, firmly catching the captain's large knife.

In the next moment, the metal palm collided with the silver blade, the violent sparks spreading as friction created an electric arc that traveled up the blade to the captain's body, paralyzing him for a full two seconds.

But Ke Mingye was also catapulted several meters by the immense force from the blade, slamming into the thick mast, his life gauge in the upper right corner of his vision plummeting sharply.

Subsequently, the mast violently broke, bringing the sail and the crow's-nest crashing down, nearly burying him within.

"Damn, this is tough..."

Ke Mingye spat out a mouthful of blood, and simultaneously pressed his wrist to the right, shot a web at the railingultimately, he forcefully tugged himself out of the falling mast's path.

"Thud!!!!"

The mast smashed into the deck, carving a long trench, with cracks spreading outward from the trench across the ten-meter radius of the deck.

As Ke Mingye was about to rise from the ground, in that instant, the parrot on the captain's shoulder suddenly began to sing loudly.
