The ship bound for the Land of Snow stopped in the middle of the sea. A heated meeting was underway, its outcome determining whether the voyage would continue.

Yukie Fujikaze burst into the room uninvited: "I strongly oppose continuing! We need to turn back immediately!"

Sandayu, kneeling before her: "Your Highness, Princess Yukie! Please, you must defeat Doto and reclaim the throne! I will gladly lay down my life to protect you!"

Yukie, coldly: "I'm not doing it. This is no joke."

Sandayu, pleading: "But the people of the Land of Snow—"

Yukie, cutting him off: "That has nothing to do with me. I refuse."

Sandayu: "Your Highness..."

Yukie, glaring: "I said, drop it! You're all idiots! No matter how hard you try, you can't defeat Doto!"

Director, interrupting: "It's precisely because you don't give up that there's hope. Hope is what leads us to the future. Doesn't that fit the theme of Princess Gale perfectly?"

As a normal person, the logical choice would be to avoid danger. But the director was far from normal.

Naruto, silently shaking his head: This is a farce.

The ship would continue its journey because Kakashi wanted it to. He had saved Yukie once and wouldn't let her fall into Doto's hands again. The best solution was to confront Doto head-on and eliminate the threat.

While the meeting raged on, Naruto reflected on his own situation.

If I'd had Hinata use her Byakugan before we landed, we could've avoided that ambush. But I didn't. I wanted to test the strength of Chakra armor and push the team—and myself—to grow.

He'd been stuck on the third stage of the Rasengan for a while now. He knew what to do but couldn't execute it, which frustrated him.

The meeting ended with the decision to press on. The director, determined to create a masterpiece, insisted on continuing. Yukie, furious, stormed out.

Kakashi, addressing Sandayu: "If this mission hadn't come to me, it would've ended here. But now that Yukie's identity is exposed, Doto will hunt her relentlessly. Do you understand the danger you've put her in?"

Sandayu, trembling: "I'll protect her with my life!"

Kakashi, sternly: "You're not strong enough to protect her. You've put her in the spotlight for your own agenda. Remember this: if you betray her, I'll make you regret it."

Kakashi-sensei is so cool!

Naruto couldn't help but admire Kakashi's resolve.

With the meeting over, Kakashi gathered his team.

Kakashi: "The Snow Country ninja aren't inherently strong. Aside from Nadare Roga, who's at the chunin level, the others are only slightly above genin. Their strength comes from their Chakra armor."

He explained how the armor enhanced their chakra, strengthened their techniques, and created a defensive barrier that neutralized most attacks.

Sasuke added: "It's not just ninjutsu. My shuriken shattered when it hit the barrier."

Kakashi: "That's because you infused it with chakra. The barrier resonated with the chakra in your shuriken, destroying it from within."

He then turned to Naruto. "Your sword is impressive."

Crap. I revealed Qingxiu too early.

Naruto, quickly: "I borrowed it from the blacksmith."

Kakashi nodded and continued. "The armor has its limits. I have a technique that can break through it, but it's only suitable for Sasuke, given his lightning affinity and Sharingan."

Sasuke, intrigued: "A lightning-based technique?"

Kakashi demonstrated, channeling lightning into his hand: "This is the Chidori. It requires precise chakra control and speed. Without the Sharingan, it's nearly impossible to land."

Naruto, eager: "Can I watch? I've been practicing chakra nature transformation too. Maybe I can learn something."

Kakashi agreed, but Naruto soon regretted it.

Sasuke's progress was astonishing. After Kakashi's demonstration, Sasuke attempted the technique. His first try failed, but after Kakashi shocked him with a small lightning bolt, Sasuke's body began emitting electricity.

He learned it that fast?!

Naruto felt utterly defeated.

Returning to his cabin, Naruto reflected on his training.

Three months of practicing wind and water release... If I add up the time from all my clones, it's like I've trained for 50 years. Even accounting for the clones' reduced efficiency, it's still five years.

His wind release could extend three meters, but his water release was far weaker. It took over ten seconds to fill a glass with water, and the water dissipated almost instantly.

Naruto sighed: "Why is water release so much harder than wind?"

He combined wind and water chakra in the glass, creating snow instead of ice.

Snow? Really? Am I supposed to throw snowballs at my enemies?

Naruto, frustrated: "This is ridiculous."

He lay on his bed, closing his eyes and reaching out to Kurama.

Naruto: "Kurama-sensei... Is there something wrong with my training? I've been working so hard, but my water release is progressing so slowly. Sasuke mastered lightning release in an instant."

Kurama, lazily: "Don't compare yourself to an Uchiha. Their talent lies in chakra nature transformation, just as yours lies in chakra reserves. Different bloodlines, different strengths."

Naruto, still upset: "But I've been training for three months—three years if you count my clones. It feels like I'm going nowhere."

Kurama, rolling his eyes: "You're training two chakra natures simultaneously, focusing on the Rasengan, and not even using your main body for nature transformation. What more do you want? Three years? Don't be ridiculous."

Three years? More like three months of actual progress, Kurama thought, though he didn't say it aloud.
