Chapter 145:Kennin’s Battery’s Shares _2
Hearing that, a smile appeared on Jason's face.
He stated, "Alright! If that's the case, let me recommend another share to you, Miss Robinson."
However, before he could finish his sentence, Niamh's voice rang out again.
"Buy 50 million dollars worth of shares for me first."
Jason was dumbfounded.
Looking at Niamh, who seemed determined to buy the stock, Jason sighed heavily and ended the call.
He made repeated promises that he would buy the stock as soon as possible.
Seeing Jason's behavior, his coworker sitting next to him leaned over and asked, "Jason, why are you sighing like that? You must have just closed a huge deal, huh? If you manage this well, you could make a lot of money!"
In response, Jason gave a bitter smile.
He answered, "Don't even bring that up. This client of mine wants to buy Kennin Battery stocks, and she wants a whopping 50 million worth of shares!"
His coworker was dumbfounded, "What the hell?! Kennin Battery? Has your client gone mad?"
"I have no idea either, but it seems like they might have been set up."
After hearing that, his coworker clicked his tongue and said, "That's quite the set up! But if you go along with it and buy that junk stock, you are probably going to be ridiculed to no end, Jason."
"Can't help it, can I? It's their money, not mine. Sigh… Speaking of which, it's strange that Miss Robinson isn't the only one who wants to buy this stock, though.
Just a moment ago, someone else bought 30 million worth of Kennin Battery's shares." Jason muttered.
"Hmm? That is indeed odd…"
For a moment, doubts began to swell in the hearts of the two men.
After all, a stock destined to be delisted was suddenly being purchased in bulk.
That was truly unusual.
The confusion was not only shared by these two.
.....
The people at Kennin Battery had noticed Bright making massive purchases of their company's shares.
As a result, they had urgently called for a shareholder's meeting in one of the company's meeting rooms.
"What's going on?"
The old man in the lead frowned slightly as he looked at the information on the computer screen.
He was the chairman of Kennin Battery who held 19.7 percent of the shares.
The others around him were shareholders of the company as well.
The shares they owned varied individually, ranging from three to ten percent.
These shareholders were also dumbfounded as they watched the soaring prices of the shares.
"What's happening? Is the company's share price rebounding?"
"No, it seems like someone is making large scale purchases of our company's shares. They've already bought 30 million shares!"
"30 million shares?! Isn't that over 50 million dollars? Who could be involved in such a large scale buyout?!"
"My goodness, is this person crazy? Or do they just have too much money to burn?!"
At that moment, all of Kennin Battery's higher ups were dumbstruck!
After all, even the current shareholders wanted to quickly sell off their shares in Kennin Battery.
However, even if they tried to give their shares away for free, no one wanted them.
Right then, however, someone had actually spent over 50 million to acquire more than 30 million of their company's shares.
That was simply absurd.
At that moment, the shareholders who owned less shares felt their hearts stirring.
They wondered if they should contact this mysterious person who had bought more than 30 million of their stocks so they could sell off the rest of their shares.
Meanwhile, the chairman felt his heart sink slightly.
Suddenly, someone had appeared out of nowhere, acquiring more than 30 million shares of their company.
Indeed, that was quite out of the ordinary.
The chairman pondered for a while! Then, he looked at his secretary.
He asked, "Skye, how's the progress on the new blade patterned lithium iron phosphate battery? Is there any recent progress report?"
Kennin Battery had begun developing the blade patterned lithium iron phosphate battery two years ago.
However, two years into the development of this project, there still hadn't been any substantial progress.
Regardless, it had burnt through a substantial amount of the company's funds.
Essentially, Kennin Battery was placing all their bets on this project.
If it didn't succeed, then they would go bankrupt.
"Mr. Turner, Dr. Steve and his team are now in the final stage of development, but they seem to have hit a bottleneck." The secretary replied.
Hearing that, Nelson Turner's heart sank instantly.
"A bottleneck? What are the chances of breaking through?" He asked.
"0.25 percent."
With just that simple statement, the mood in the meeting room sank once again.
O.25 percent?
That success rate was just too low.
Everyone's spirits plummeted to the lowest of lows.
And for a fraction of those shareholders, it only made them even more certain that they needed to sell off all their shares.
The way they saw it, this project was doomed to fail.
Kennin Battery was inevitably going to shut down.
They would rather sell their stocks promptly for cash than watch the company go under.
...…..
Meanwhile, Bright looked at the 50 million shares that he possessed while listening to Elaine's report.
He was going through a process of deep contemplation.
"I have acquired 50 million shares over the last two days. According to the Stock Market Prediction Card, Kennin Battery will announce the successful testing of their project in two days." He mused.
Instantly, a big grin spread across Bright's face.
In two days!
He stroked his chin thoughtfully.
Bright turned to Elaine and said, "By the way, Elaine, if any shareholders of Kennin Battery approach us to sell shares within the next two days, accept all the offers."
Bright believed that his substantial acquisition of the stocks on the market would inevitably attract the attention of the internal department of Kennin Battery.
This company had been at a net loss for several consecutive years. The internal shareholders had undoubtedly fostered thoughts of selling their stocks to get cash and leave.
Therefore, Bright planned to take over everything.
After finalizing that decision in his heart, Bright walked into the underground gym to run and work out.
By 10 p.m, he returned to his room and soaked in a bath while scrolling through social media.
Soon, he saw a post from Melody.
That night, Melody and the crew were heading to Wideway Studio city in Lesburg for filming. She had already boarded the plane.
He replied with a message saying he would check up on her in a couple of days. Then, Bright stopped paying attention.
