Super Nova Genesis - Evolution of the Phoenix

Chapter 1: The Flight of Phoenix

A shadowy figure appeared out of nowhere. It's features were obscured in the dark, one couldn't make out how it looked like.

"There you are," said a raspy voice. "Where's your master?"

A mysterious person had been waiting for them, they were dressed in a suit and had a slender physique to such an extent it seemed as if they hadn't eaten their whole life.

The shadowy figure made hand gestures to their question.

"Is that so? Regardless, let's get this done."

The slender person headed off somewhere, the figure disappeared from it's spot. They came to a stop, it was in front of a mansion, the figure appeared next to them again.

"Getting in is more difficult than I could have expected, all i need is to confirm something, you think you can get close?"

The figure nodded then dissapeared again. The person waited for about 15 minutes until it returned.

"Yes, that took longer than expected, I presume you almost got caught?"

It nodded.

"So it seems even if you can conceal yourself and teleport that's still no match for the defences on this household. But enough of that, did you at least get what I requested?"

The figure nodded then handed them what seemed like a registration form along with a photgraph. They read it then smiled. A glimpse at the photo showed a female with light brown hair, blue eyes and a serious expression.

"She's going there, I see, with this information we can ally ourselves with other organisations. We can finally acquire what we need."

***

The person with red hair felt uneasy, they were riding a bus and found themselves sitting next to someone who gave off a troublesome aura. For the most part they were silent and relaxed but had an unnerving smile with a slight squint in their eyes.

They were a terrifying beauty. Their shoulder length hair was white like a ghost with ice cold blue eyes and wore lipstick which was red as blood.

The ominous girl turned to look at the redhead, the latter quickly scooted over until they were against the window. The girl closed their her eyes and smiled wider.

"I apologize if I came off as a threatening," she said. "My name is Artemis."

The redhead did not speak, they still felt chills from this person. It's as if there's another presence following them.

"I see you are on your way to the camp, looking to be the next fighters for justice I presume?"

The redhead nodded nervously.

"I have some business therre as well, but not to join the camp the as you can see by the way I'm dressed."

She wore a formal attire which included a blzaer, skirt, stockings and high heels among others. She must have been no older than the red head, so it seems peculiar that she would be doing any sort of business while likely still a High School student.

"In this day and age, heroes might seem obselete considering the technological advances, but I believe there's a world big enough for all. "

After a few more minutes the bus slowed down before coming to a stop. The white-haired girl stood up, looked back at the redhead, smiled and turned to leave the bus. The latter remained for a few more minutes until she was gone. They finally exited the bus and stood before the entrance. They inhaled deeply the exhaled.

“Stay calm, stay calm, stay…hmmmmmm.”

Slap.

They smacked both their face cheeks to give them motivation. Realizing what they did thry came to a conclusion.

“I’m such an otaku.”

The redhead entered a gateway to a camp site. Many young teens were indulged in activity. It seemed like an ordinary camp, except for one minor detail, the super powers.

A girl with a bow shot an arrow at a tree which disappeared then materialized to hit the target behind it. A boy who seemed to be painting looked normal at first but then his hand phased through the canvas and he pulled out kettle before pouring water into a cup. Another teenage girl wearing all black was walking casually but suddenly vanished as soon as she walked into the shadows. She appeared behind the redhead who just entered the camp…wait.

“Kya!”

“Kya? What kinda shriek is that?.”

They took a moment to catch her breath

“Y-y-you were…but I just…and now you’re…” she said while pointing from one spot to the other.

“Why are you surprised by my abilities, isn’t that why you’re here?”

They went all red in the face.

“Y-yes of course, stupid!”

They slapped their head.

“Anyway, I’m Blake Nixon, but I’m more well known as Nyx.”

“O-oh, nice to meet you.”

They held out their hand, the two of them shook.

“This is the part where you tell me your name.’

“R-right!” she yelped. “I'm Chicken…no wait, Phoenix my named is Phoenix! Phoenix Lilywhite.”

“It’s a pleasure, Phoenix the Chicken.”

Phoenix blushed more and steam popped out of her head.

“P-please don’t let that stick.”

Blake chuckled.

“I’m just kidding, but moving on,” Blake pointed at a badge on her shirt. “I'm Chief Counselor and you’ll be in my care for now, so, what are your powers?”

“W-well, to put it simply, I’m…I'm an Octopus.”

Blake had a face of visible confusion.

“I see, so I assume you mean you can do what an Octopus can,” said Blake. “Either that or you truly are an Octopus. Because if that’s the case, I’m afraid we only recruit humans.”

Phoenix almost had a panic attack.

“N-n-no no, I’m a person, a f-fully fledged homo sapien.”

Blake giggled once more.

“Boy you’re so gullible,” she said. “By the way it wouldn’t even matter to me or anyone if you were a sea creature, an alien or the ghoul hiding in my dad's trunk, everyone is welcome.”

Phoenix put a hand to her chest. “That’s a relief…I mean the part about me being accepted at camp.”

“Oh, before we discuss powers, I can’t believe I failed to notice this, but damn girl, you’re a giant. What is your height?”

Phoenix got all jumpy in nervousness again.

‘I-I-I'm, well, you see I’m…” she took a deep breath then yelled. “I'm 6 foot 3!”

“Holy cannoli!” Blake exclaimed. “And to think someone your size could be this timid.”

Phoenix covered her face with her hands.

“Right, so your abilities?”

Phoenix took a minute took regain composure.

“I can breathe underwater.”

“Go figure, next.”

“Yes, I can also camouflage.”

“I see.”

“I can contort my entire body to squeeze between small spaces.”

“Gross, but effective, any more?”

“There's the mimicry, the grip strength and, while I’ve never confirmed it, possible regeneration and neuro toxic saliva.”

“Interesting, you possess some of the capabilities of more than one species. Now then, how about your parents, do they have similar traits?”

“Actually, they don’t posses any Octopus powers, in fact, my mom is pyro kinetic and my dad has heat vision.”

Blake raised an eyebrow.

“Not only are they completely different, their abilities are basically the exact opposite, are you sure you’re not adopted?”

“I'm fairly certain, I look just like my mother and I share some of my dad's physical traits.”

“When did you discover your powers?”

“It manifested when I was 6.”

“Did it all just burst out at an unfortunate time.”

“No, it was quite simple really.”

Phoenix turned around and proceed to take her top off.

“Whoa, hold on a minute, at least ask me out first.”

Phoenix just realized what she was doing without hesitation.

“Kya!”

“There it is again,” muttered Blake

Phoenix calmed down before slowly revealing her back. Four octopus tentacles protruded from it.

“Ah, I’ve seen enough, I am satisfied.” Blake proceeded to walk on while beckoning Phoenix. “Let’s get you sorted.

The two of them walked over to where multiple structures were, which are most likely the dorms.

“Each building are divided into categories based on the type power you have,” said Blake as she pointed at the one with trident and sickle on it. “All those with aquatic and botanic abilities go to dorm 8 and you’ll be part of Poseidon or Demeter Class.”

Blake then pointed towards another dorm.

“This one here, dorm 15, was where I used to be before I became the Head. There you will find darkness based abilities, we're in Hecate/Hades class.”

“D-darkness?”

“Yes darkness, such as light absorption, camouflage, or in my case, shadow warping,” Blake explained. "Another thing about my shadow ability is that depending what type of light it’s created from there are different techniques.”

“…”

“Let’s continue.”

They walked over to a two story building. They entered and found themselves in a reception area.

“You'll also find the Director's office upstairs,” said Blake before heading to the front desk. “Mrs. Evans!”

Someone appeared out of thin from behind the desk, Phoenix nearly jumped out of her socks.

“How may I assist you, Miss Nixon?”

“Do we have a registration for a Lilywhite.”

“Certainly.”

Mrs. Evans waved her hand, a file came into view, Phoenix bounced back in surprise yet again.

“Phoenix O. Lilywhite, Enigma: Octopus,” Mrs. Evans read out. “White Female; Age 15, Born on 8 August 2008 in Star City, Morgantown, Monogalia, West Viginia, USA; Red hair; Sea green eyes; 1.92m; 188.8 LBS; attends XX High School.”

“O-o-one hundred and eighty-eight pounds?” said a wide-eyed Blake who then looked back at Phoenix. “Forget what I said about asking me out, lift your shirt up.”

Phoenix turned as red as a riped tomato.

Mrs. Evans placed a hand to her cheek while smiling. “Oh my.”

Phoenix slowly lifted her top up, below the bra was a chiseled abdomen.

“Do you gym?”

“N-n-no, b-but I do play a lot of sport.”

“I guess that explains it.”

“Actually,” Mrs. Evans joined in. “Octopuses have several layers of muscle and a low-fat high-protein volume.”

“Or there’s that,” said Blake. “So, which sports, I’m sure there’s Basketball but what else?”

“Y-yes, I also participated in Soccer, Volleyball and Baseball.”

“That’s a lot of sports for someone shy as yourself.”

Phoenix was twiddling her two index fingers together while she blushed.

“Also, not only do your parents have fire type abilities and your name is based on the mythological bird of flames but it seems you live in the Virginia that’s not even touching the ocean, again, ironic. But enough of that, let me show you to your room.”

Blake accepted the form and ushered Phoenix on their way, Mrs. Evans waved merrily.

They exit the building and walk over to dorm 8. They enter the four-story structure. Inside, many of the residents were lounging about. A girl viewed the progress of a flower growing, a boy with shark jaws chewed into metal shards to show off his bite strength and in the corner, there was a sceptic tank where a boy floated submerged in water while in a meditating position.

They go upstairs and through a hallway. They stop by a door, room 88. Inside, there were two beds, a kitchen, two doors which are likely the bathroom and closet, a heater, an air conditioner, a tv and many more accessories. From the window, there was a stunning view of the river and forest.

“LAS I’ve mentioned, everyone in this dorm building have abilities which are either Poseidon or Demeter class,” said Blake. “You’ll have a roommate who should arrive soon. All I know about her is that her name is Eden Green as shown on registration but I’m certain she’s in Demeter class since the dorm room arrangement is one of each.”

“I-I-I'll be sure to be hospitable and generous,” said Phoenix. “I hope my roommate will be the same.”

“Yeah, I can’t imagine you staying with a bully.”

Phoenix whimpered like a scared puppy.

“So adorable,” muttered Blake then cleared her throat. “Anyway, you should be receiving a visit by the dorm mother. I've got more duties to fulfill. See you later.”

Blake left Phoenix by herself, she stood silent for a moment before holding up her fists to her chest.

“All right, if I want progress, I better build up my determination.”

For now she might want to take a shower then change into cleaner clothes. She got undressed into her underwear. Unfortunately, she forgot to close the door.

“Oh dear, you storing some fresh cantaloupes up in there?” came an unexpected voice.

Phoenix froze, she slowly turned her head to the doorway, it was a woman, but even so...

“Klauckkakalookadookalkakokl!!!”

Phoenix dashed and sprung behind the bed.

“You just acted on pure instinct, how cute.”

Phoenix peaked over, the woman wore an apron and carried a broomstick. However, her outfit was that of a character you would see in comic books, that must mean she’s a hero, along with being the dorm mother.

“I’m known as Vicious Nightshade, but I’d prefer if you’d call me Ms. Nightshade.”

She held up something in her hand, walked over to the beds which made Phoenix duck back down.

“I’ll just leave these here. Based on their size I was expecting a lean young man but by the looks of it, I appear to have been mistaken. Enjoy, call me if you need anything, tata.”

The next thing Phoenix heard was the door closing. She looked back up; Ms. Nightshade had left. What was on the bed seemed to be a uniform wrapped in a pack. She opened it up and inside contained a tracksuit, shorts, golf shirt with the camp emblem and peak cap. This is the standard outfit to wear on most occasions, however, to have compatibility with their powers most members would wear specially made uniforms in times of more intense training.

After getting bathed she put on a clean pair of underwear. She wore her track pants and golf shirt but left the jacket for now since it’s quite hot outside. She placed her hands to her hips.

“Let’s do this.”

She stood still there for a moment before slouching.

“What exactly is it that I’m supposed to do now?”

She anxiously looked from side to side in a panic thinking what she should do next.

Knock knock.

The sound from the door gave her a jolt. Was that Ms Nightshade? Though, Phoenix doubt the dorm mother would simply knock instead barging in so was it her roomate? She went to the door, opened it, looked out in the hallway, but the place was empty.

"Maybe it was a prank."

"These are some cute undies."

Phoenix jumped and banged her head on the door frame, that voice came from in her room. She looked back to see a girl with bright orange hair going through her under garments. She wore gloves and had a pair of goggles on her head. How did she get in...when did she get in?

"W-who are you!?"

"Yo, the name's Vivien O'Hara but you can call me Vivy," she said quickly as she continued fiddling.

"..."

"Ooh, what's that?"

She picked up Phoenix's bra.

"Boi, this thing is huge, I can put one cup on my head!"

She put it on her head.

"..."

"Look at me, I'm Brabocop!" she said while pointing finger guns. "Pew pew."

Phoenix wasn't entirely sure how she should respond in this situation. Should she yell at her for being a nuisance, laugh or remain in place and witness the tomfoolery.

"Hi,"she was now face to face with Phoenix.

"Kya!" Phoenix sprang back and crashed again, she placed her hands her head. "Ooh."

"Come on!" Vivy linked arms with Phoenix then led her next door. “Let's greet your neighbors.”

"Wha-wait!"

She dragged Phoenix out of her room and brought her next door. Vivy knocked on the door, they waited a while.

“Welp, guess no one’s home...”

The door swung open; Phoenix cowered in fear.

“What's up?” said an African-American girl.

Phoenix stood up straight. She looked to her side, Vivy was out of sight, all that's left of her was an afterimage in the form of her body's outline.

"So, who are you?"

“I-I'm...Cleanex Phillybright, ma’am!”

“Why are you addressing me as if I’m a drill Sergent and also, whaaaaat?”

“No, I mean P-Phoenix Lilywhite.”

Phoenix remained still as she turned red while her muscles tensed.

“I take it you’re also one of the new members,” the girl held out her hand. “Hi, my name is Andromeda Williams, but you can call me Andy.”

“The p-p-pleasure is mine,” Phoenix stuck her hand out and they shook.

“Damn, your head’s about to hit the ceiling, what have they been feeding you?”

Phoenix did not respond.

“Never mind, anyway, come on in and meet my roomma-”

Andy stopped talking when she looked back inside. Phoenix hesitantly entered the room to see what's the problem. There was another girl, she was lying on the bed, barefooted while cross legged and reading a comic. She had shoulder length purple hair and blue eyes. She wore denim shorts and a Chicago Cubs shirt. She lowered her comic to reveal her face, she had a serious expression. But was more baffling was the fact that Vivy was standing right next to her leaning over to get a look and the former didn't even flinch.

"Who are you!? When did you even get in here!?"

"Hi there,"Vivy saluted. "My name is Vivien and you can call me Vivy. Oh wow, this is so cool!"

Phoenix looked around, it was relatively clear which likely meant they also only got here today. In that case, the girl on the bed has really made herself at home. The most that were unpacked were Baseball memorabilia, which Vivy was currently scrutinizing, most of which are from the Chicago Cubs with the addition of the odd White Sox, Washington Nationals and Detroit Tigers.

Andy couldn't respond to the hyper girl that invaded their room.

"This is the first time I'm getting a glimpse at your room."

Andy shook out of her daze, those words were directed to her roommate.

"Do you two know each other?"

"Sure thing," Vivy answered. "She was the one I was looking for but went nextdoor by accident.

It didn't seem like an accident thought Phoenix.

"We've been teammates in Baseball for a long time. Although, she's never invited me to her home."

"Probably for good reason," muttered Andy.

"Uhh," said Phoenix.

"Oh right, you're still here," said Andy then pointed her thumb at the girl on the bed. “This is Logan Mackenzie."

Logan grunted, she did not look up at them and continued reading her comic, she still didn't acknowledge Vivy's presence.

“Ain’t she a charmer?”

“Y-yes…lovely,” said Phoenix.

"It seems you're still unpacking," said Vivy who was already in Andy's suitcase.

"Hey!" exclaimed Andy.

"Oh wow," now she had Andy's bra. "Compared to the big girl, yours can't even cover my fist."

Andy turned red in embarrasment and looked away. "I-I'm still growing."

Suddenly, there was a gust of wind. The bra in Vivy's hand was blown off. She turned to look at the direction it came from. Logan was holding out her arm while her palm faced in her direction, she never looked away from her comic.

“I-I guess this is the part where we discuss abilities since Logan so graciously demonstrated,” said Andy. “My Enigma is Floral Whisperer and I can communicate with plants.”

Phoenix's face actually lit up. “You're kidding, that’s so cool.”

“And what about you?”

“R-Right, I’ve got Octopus powers.”

Phoenix then explained the dynamics of her abilities.

“I see, quite versatile,” Andy pointed her thumb at Logan. “And Miss Optimist over there has the ability to create a flow of spiralling force, whether it’s in water or the air. If she wanted to, she could cause a hurricane or massive whirlpools, though that would take strong willpower. What you saw a moment ago was just a fragment of what she's capable of.”

Logan turned a page not paying any attention to them.

"And my ability is High Octane Pulse!" cried Vivy.

"Huah!"

Andy and Phoenix jumped away because she just popped out in the middle of them.

"My emotions conntrol my powers," she explained. "When I'm happy I'm fast, when I'm angry I'm strong, when I'm afraid I'm on high alert, when I'm sad then I'm weak as all hell!"

"..."

"..."

She spoke so fast they weren't sure they got any of that.

“But enough of that, I’m really looking forward to meeting her.”

Andy shook out of it.

"Ah, you're right, she is joining too."

“Umm, who?”

“You know, the girl who’s been the talk of the town since she was a little kid,” said Andy. “The one and only, Diana Archer.”

“Oh, ” Phoenix made a blank expression. “Who?”

Andy collapsed to the floor, dumbstruck, Vivy laughed hysterically. In fact, it was so surprising, even Logan stared up from her comic.

“Are you kidding me?!” Andy blurted.

“I’m afraid that I’m serious, teehee,” Phoenix bopped her head. “So, who is she?”

“She's a person who's difficult to explain in words. Most people wouldn’t believe you if you told them, so you’ll have to see for yourself. All I can tell you about her is that she’s got a pyro kinetic abilities and she’s a beast with the Bow and the Arrow.”

“However, she’s known to have an icy personality,” said Logan.

Phoenix made an evasive action. “She spoke!”

"Ah, you're still with us, Lolo!" said Vivy.

"Don't call me that."

"Okay!"

“Anyway, Diana could be sitting with a whole lot of cryokinetics and she’d still be coldest person at the table.”

“Quite ironic if you ask me,” said Andy.

If they want to know about irony then wait until they hear about my life thought Phoenix.

“Oh, it appears you have acquainted yourself,” said the familiar voice of Vicious Nightshade.

Suddenly, she held out her arm and dragged Vivy back into the room. Wait, when did she...nevermind.

"Uuh, ha ha ha," Vivy laughed nervously. "Nice to see you, ma'am."

"My dear, have you been bothering my guests again, Miss O'Hara?"

"Whaaat? No," said Vivy as she rubbed the back of her head. "I was just meeting my friend Logan that's all."

Phoenix wasn't sure whether she should deny that, she was afraid of what Ms Nightshade would do if Vivy really was pestering everyone.

"Is that so, Miss Mckenzie?"

Logan just waved her hand.

"I see," she pulled Vivy in front of her and. "This is Vivien O'Hara, but I'm sure she's introduced herself already. Just like all of you she's a joining camp for the first time but even so she's made such an impression in just a few hours that almost everyone knows her."

“So, what can we do for you, ma’am?” asked Andy.

“Just want to let you know that all you newcomers are to report to the hall this afternoon.”

“Thanks for the notice,” Andy gave a salute.

“In the meantime…”

“Ms. Nightshade!” someone called from down the hallway.

“What appears to be the problem, Ivan?”

“Phillip and Marcus are getting into a fight again,” explained the boy named Ivan while catching his breath. “The place is about to flood.”

“My my, those two are at each other's throats yet again,” Ms. Nightshade cracked her fingers. “Time to knock some further sense in to them. Next time, darlings.”

She waved goodbye, left Vivy and followed Ivan back in the direction from where he came.

“This is where the fun begins,” said Andy as she rubbed her palms together.

Soon after, Phoenix returned to her room. Vivy had taken her leave; she wasn't even part of this dorm. With it still being early in the morning and a few hours before the new campers meet up at the Camp's Hall, Phoenix decided to lie down on her bed for a bit due to the long ride she’d taken to reach her destination. She dozed off, but woke up abruptly to being greeted by a nightmare straight away, a certain white-haired girl may have been the reason behind that.

Not being able to sleep, she decided to switch on the tv. She assumed since they’re in woods there wouldn’t be any signal but to her surprise every broadcast was available, this has likely got something to do with someone's Enigma.

She casually watched a 24/7 programming of some adventurers exploring isolated regions. The discovery of the unknown gave her a sense of anxiety but that’s just what makes it fun. After about an hour, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Phoenix fell off her bed. She wasn’t expecting anyone, did Vivy come back? Then, she remembered that she has a roommate, though she’d think a counsellor would just send them right in instead of having her knock. Phoenix reluctantly approached the door before slowly opening it a crack. A single green eye looked through, Phoenix nearly did a backflip. The person outside did not act hastily and simply pushed open the door, calmly.

A girl with blonde hair in a bob cut entered. She was incredibly cute and petite, people would think she’s in grade school. She walked up to Phoenix who was sitting on the floor. She stood up and towered over her supposed roommate. The latter didn’t even flinch, she simply looked up to meet the other's eyes like it were a normal encounter. The strangest part was that she never showed any reactions in her facial expressions.

“Oh…uh, uh hi,” greeted Phoenix. “I take it you’re…err…Eva Greef?”

“Eden Green.”

She didn’t even hesitate to correct me.

Phoenix held out her hand and again, Eden didn’t show the slightest reluctance in responding as they shook. Phoenix then thought for a moment, she'd never met anyone like Eden in her life and because of her own timid persona there’s something she’d never had the opportunity of doing.

Phoenix slowly placed her hand atop Eden's head and rubbed it like one would when petting a dog or cat. Eden didn’t protest and a satisfied look appeared on Phoenix. She’d tried to do this with her little cousins but they’re too wild tempered and she’s too afraid of the neighbor’s dogs while all cats tend to run away from her likely due to her size.

“Would you like to be my little sister?” asked Phoenix.

“That’s fine, but I am older than you, though,”

"..."

“W-w-when is your birthday?”

“April 22nd.”

“Oh…four months,” said Phoenix. “A-and how did you know my age?”

“I saw your profile at the secretary, not on purpose, it just happened to enter my line of sight when Mrs. Evans was going through the box of forms.”

“I-I see.”

Phoenix removed her hand, but Eden's eyes turned to the side.

“You don’t have to stop so soon.”

Phoenix’s hand hovered above her head for a moment as she contemplated whether she should continue caressing or not, in the end she decided to hold back. It was subtle, but she could have sworn there was the slightest hint of disappointment on Eden.

“Did you come here all by yourself?” Phoenix wondered.

“No, the young woman, Nixon, brought me here, but once we reached the door she said she had some things to take care of, then left.”

“Okay.”

“…”

“…”

Silence.

Well this is awkward.

“A-anyway, how about I help you unpack,” Phoenix retrieved some of Eden's luggage.

The two of them emptied out the bags and placed everything in their spots.

“So, is this your first time at camp?” asked Phoenix.

Eden nodded.

Not much of a talker, hey?

“How about family, got any siblings.”

“Two younger sisters.”

“Aww, I’m sure they must be quite adorable.”

Phoenix pictured a couple of smaller Edens.

“Well, I’m an only child, never had the satisfaction of having a little sister.”

“Is that why you were ready to claim me a moment ago?”

“Uhh, ha ha ha,” Phoenix bopped her head.

“But, since I was born first, I’ve never had the satisfaction of having a big sister.”

Phoenix’s face lit up. “So cute.”

She suddenly embraced her, Eden's face squeezed up against Phoenix’s chest but she did not protest.

“I'm gonna keep you for the rest of our lives.”

Eden slowly lifted her arm for a nonchalant fist pump.

“Oh my, well ain’t that precious,” said a voice by the door, it was Ms. Nightshade.

Phoenix let Eden go.

“I just came by to bring Miss Green her outfit.”

She walked in and handed it over to Eden.

“You'll be wearing that when we meet in the Hall as well. The meeting begins in two hours so just relax for a bit as all preparations are sorted, ciao.”

“…”

“…”

She left before any of them had a chance to respond.

“Let’s just finish unpacking.”

All the new campers arrived at the Hall. There seemed to be about a hundred of them. As they lined up, Phoenix of course stood out like a sore thumb, as many would guess, she did not like attention. They were grouped together in order of classes, each group having their own counsellor. The one for Poseidon was a boy named Lance Crow while Demeter’s was a girl named Misaki Katsuragi. She saw Vivy, she couldn't stay still and jumped from one person to the next to intriduce herself.

“Attention everyone!” Blake was up on stage, she spoke on the mic. "Vivien O'Hara, could you please remain in your group."

Vivy waved off the last person she greeted and went back, she stationed herslef with the Artemis class.

“I would like to give a very warm welcome to all our new campers here today. As you can see there is no specific age, some here are as young as 12 or as old as 17 but the large majority are 15.”

Phoenix did notice a small number of kids who were shorter than Eden and older teens who look almost like adults, none of which were taller than her, not even the boys.

“You all know the main reason that you’re all here and that’s to train the next generation of heroes. Here we evaluate your powers and figure out how many you can utilize as well as awaken their full potential. Now for a run down of the procedures moving forward.”

Blake stepped away from the Mic and someone else took their place.

“I’m deputy head counsellor, Mark Klinger,” said a boy with an Australian accent. “As mentioned before, all of you will be engaged in hero training but there are additional recreations. We offer club sports which include Baseball, Basketball, Swimming, Athletics, Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball and Field Hockey.

“Each camper is required to pick at least one sport and there is no limit to how many you participate in. Once you’re in a team you’ll be expected to face rival clubs from all around the country. Most games will be without the use of your powers however.

“Besides sports, there are also other activities such as the Rock Band, Art and Crafts, Dance Club and more. In any case, let me explain what you’ll be doing right now. I would like each and every one of you to randomly pick a partner. Once done, it’ll be explained further, commence!”

It took a moment but everybody went from person to person hoping to pick a partner before there’s nobody left. Phoenix expected she'd just go with Andy, Eden or Vivy but both of them managed to find partners of their own, even Logan.

Phoenix scrambled around but she just didn’t have the courage to approach anyone so she eventually just stood there in the middle. But, she did notice someone in particular, they weren’t even trying to look for a partner. Out of desperation Phoenix went up to them and just placed a hand on their shoulder.

Phoenix did not say anything while the other stood there looking serious while her arms were folded, she didn’t even move.

“I-I-I'm sorry, I just came up to you in the moment,” said Phoenix in a nervous tone while her head was down.

“That’s quite all right, I wasn’t too keen on partnering up, but you may join me,” the person spoke with a mature young woman's voice.

Phoenix then looked up to see a girl with light brown hair and blue eyes. She wasn’t smiling and had a scowling face, was she just pretending to be polite, did Phoenix actually piss her off by touching her.

“Calm your nerves,” said the girl. “I can assure you I’m not angry, this is just the way I’m perceived.”

Phoenix nodded vigorously then finally let go of her shoulder.

“May I ask your name?”

“S-s-sure,” said Phoenix. “I'm Phoenix Lilywhite.”

“Greeting Miss Lilywhite,” the girl responded. “Tell me, do you know who I am?”

Phoenix shook her head.

“Hmm, that so?” said the girl. “Then let me introduce myself. My name is Diana Archer.”
