Chapter 755: The End
The Ultra-Burning Corps retreated to the far side of the moon, settling within a ring-shaped crater that housed a massive cavern. Members of the Ascenders Legion leaped into the cavern one by one, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
After the Ascenders Legion had all teleported away, Bell and the others finally began the retreat of the Nirvana Being Corps.
"Human, when I return, it will be the time of your extinction. I will make sure you have no ground upon which to be buried," Auston, clutching his wounded arm, glared bitterly at Wei Wufu before turning and disappearing into the cavern.
The Nirvana Being Corps fought as they fell back in an orderly fashion, jumping into the cavern.
With the last of the Ultra-Burn Tribe's Nirvana Beings jumping into the cavern, the pets that were holding Wei Wufu and the others at bay were almost completely slaughtered.
Wei Wufu and his companions also reached the cavern and found below them a series of shimmering rings, their true nature obscured from view.
"So the teleporter on this side was on the moon's surface. No wonder no one had found it before," Wei Shoucheng exclaimed in amazement.
"Quite a few people have visited the surface of the moon in the past, but seeing nothing here, nobody thought to dig. I didn't expect the teleporter to be beneath this spot," Wei Changqing said. "I wonder how Lin Shen is doing over there? If we can't get the teleporter from the Ultra-Burn Tribe's side, we'll have to figure something out, see if we can destroy this teleporter." Auston and his people were teleported back to the Ultra-Burning Star, but the scene before them left them all speechless.
"Where... where have we teleported to..." Auston stared blankly at the scene before him, believing it was a mistake. This couldn't possibly be their Ultra-Burning Star.
Not just Auston, all of the Ultra-Burn Tribe felt the same, convinced that this place could not be their Ultra-Burning Star.
The barren planet emanated a stinging odor with heat continuously emanating from its surface.
The irregular, black ground resembled burnt plastic, and in many areas, magma could be seen bubbling up.
This was a desolate, primeval planet incapable of sustaining life. There was not a trace of civilization; it certainly wasn't the advanced Ultra-Burning Star.
"General... can the teleporter make errors?" Jerry asked, dumbfounded.
"What is that..." Suddenly, someone screamed as if they had seen a ghost, pointing at a spot on the ground.
Everyone's gaze shifted, and there, on the blackened surface, lay a severed head—a Minotaur's head.
As they made out the features of the head, Bell and the others felt their minds reel.
"The old general... that's the old general... He was an Immortal Level being... How could this... It's impossible... This cannot be..." Karo, thinking of an even more terrifying possibility, frantically scanned the surroundings, an extreme unease growing within him: "This... this is our Ultra-Burning Star..."
His words triggered a mental breakdown among all of the Ultra-Burn Tribe.
"What the hell are you talking about? How could this possibly be our Ultra-Burning Star..." Jerry shouted, grabbing Karo's collar, unable to accept that this place was the Ultra-Burning Star, let alone the reality of it.
The others stood in a daze, feeling as though reality had suddenly taken on an illusory quality.
They had only taken a trip to the human home planet, spending less than twelve hours in total, only to feel as though they had awoken from a vast dream, to a world unrecognizable to them.
Bell felt a chill throughout his body; he would rather it all be a dream, but the old general's head was right there before him, the familiar star shining in the sky above.
He prayed this wasn't the Ultra-Burning Star, but every indication seemed to signal that this indeed was the Ultra-Burning Star.
"This is your Ultra-Burning Star." A stranger's voice came, and all members of the Ultra-Burn Tribe instinctively looked toward the source of the voice.
Standing on top of the mountain-like teleporter was a figure. Once Bell and the others made out the appearance of the silhouette, their pupils contracted and their faces showed utter disbelief.
"Lin... Shen..." Bell's voice trembled, and these two syllables weighed upon him like a thousand pounds, almost exhausting all his strength.
Lin Shen's appearance here meant that everything was real. The old general of Immortal Level had been beheaded, and Ultra-Burning Star had turned into this hellish landscape.
Lin Shen had originally planned to teleport away. The teleporter at the teleportation station was still usable, not destroyed by the lava, and had not been damaged by the high temperature.
But since Fei Zai had not yet completed Nirvana, Lin Shen could only wait for it here.
To prevent any problems from occurring on the Human Mother Planet, Lin Shen had to take out the teleporter, planning to teleport back to the Human Mother Planet himself to deal with the invading Ultra-Burning Corps.
But before he could teleport, the Ultra-Burning Corps had transported back first.
Seeing that no members of the Ultra-Burn Tribe were teleporting in anymore, Lin Shen directly retracted the teleporter into his spatial storage, to prevent them from teleporting away again.
Watching the mountain-like teleporter disappear before their eyes, Bell and the others' expressions became even more unsightly.
"You… What have you done to Ultra-Burning Star…" Karo looked at Lin Shen, his voice trembling as he asked.
"Destroyed it," Lin Shen replied calmly.
"The people?" Karo still harbored the last bit of fantasy, as did everyone else.
"All destroyed." Lin Shen's words shattered their last illusions. Struck like by lightning, Karo stood there numbly.
"You… You're a butcher… to have laid hands on women and children…" Jerry roared angrily, rushing towards Lin Shen without a second thought.
"When you invaded the Human Mother Planet, did you consider that there were also women and children there?" Lin Shen flicked his wrist, and the Folding Fan flew gracefully from his hand.
As the Folding Fan returned to Lin Shen's hand, Jerry's head had also separated from his body.
"Wrong… all wrong… everything is wrong…" Seeing Lin Shen dispatch Jerry with a casual stroke, Bell knew that the Ultra-Burn Tribe could not escape their fate today.
"If we hadn't discovered the teleporter to the Human Mother Planet, if we hadn't attacked the Human Mother Planet, if…" Karo was in immense pain, but there are no ifs in this world.
"This life is all I have left…" Karo summoned the Life Base and charged towards Lin Shen.
Numerous Nirvana Beings and Ascenders made the same choice as Karo. The remorse and pain in their hearts intertwined, and only battle could prevent them from thinking of anything else, even death would be a relief from present.
Lin Shen threw out a Pet Capsule, and Xiaoyu appeared in front of him. Seeing the charging Ultra-Burning Corps, a sly smile appeared on her lips as she raised her knife and fork.
"If we hadn't invaded the Human Mother Planet, would the outcome still be the same?" Bell experienced a nightmare like none he had ever known in his lifetime. When he closed his eyes, the nightmare finally ended.
But the bodies scattered everywhere and the blood that stained the earth would not disappear with the nightmare.
"It's over…" Lin Shen looked up at Fei Zai, still in the midst of Nirvana, and at that moment, his own heart was indescribable.
