Chapter 727: The Power of Nirvana Condenses the Star Shield
Gazing up at the figure of the Asura Ghost in the sky, even the likes of Feng Feitian and Huang Feiwu felt a chill rising in their hearts.
Though they couldn't see the Asura Ghost's expression or eyes, it seemed as if everyone could see a mocking sneer on its face.
That feeling was akin to being targeted by an Evil Ghost, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
Everyone knew that the Asura Ghost intended to annihilate them all, yet it merely watched and didn't immediately attack, like a cat toying with a mouse.
If they stood their ground, the Asura Ghost wouldn't kill them. But if they ran, they would end up like the other Nirvana Beings—easily tortured and killed by the Asura Ghost.
"He hasn't struck us, probably because of the Pet Egg on this friend," Feng Feitian said, looking at Lin Shen.
All eyes then turned toward Lin Shen, with someone shakingly saying, "Friend, if you return the Pet Egg to him, perhaps we still have a sliver of hope.
Before Lin Shen could speak, Feng Feitian interjected, "That's impossible. The Asura Ghost has already set its killing intent and will certainly not spare us. Giving away the Pet Egg would only hasten our demise, so banish that thought."
Huang Feiwu continued, "Our only plan now is to band together for protection. By exploiting the Asura Ghost's reluctance to damage the Pet Egg, we may find a glimmer of hope."
"That's right," Di Esi said. "I have a method that may fend off the Asura Ghost's attacks, but I need everyone's help."
"With no time to spare, just tell us, what do you need us to do?" Bing Leiya asked.
Feng Feitian and the others also looked toward Di Esi, waiting for him to reveal the method to ensure their safety.
"I can condense dust to form a protective barrier. The more dust I gather, the stronger the barrier will be. If we can reach a certain level, it could even withstand the strength of an Immortal Level. However, I need time, and my own power has its limits. If I keep condensing dust, I cannot maintain it indefinitely…" Di Esi said, his gaze sweeping across the faces before him.
"Di Esi, are you suggesting we hold off the Asura Ghost for you? That idea seems unrealistic. You've seen our strength—we cannot possibly delay the Asura Ghost, not even for a brief moment," a Nirvana Being from the Taiger Clan said.
The same thought echoed in everyone's minds. Even if they scattered to flee under such heavy gravity, no one could escape far enough to gain much time.
"You don't need to buy time for me," Di Esi said. "You only need to combine everyone's strength to forge the protective barrier. Only then might we stand a chance against the Asura Ghost."
"How can we help you?" Feng Feitian asked directly.
Hearing they wouldn't need to delay the Asura Ghost, a glimmer of hope rose in everyone's hearts, and they all fixed their gaze on Di Esi.
"Relying on my power alone to condense ordinary dust, I can't quickly create a barrier that can withstand the Asura Ghost. But if we use your Nirvana Particles instead of normal dust, we can directly forge a Nirvana Barrier in a short amount of time. Combining the strength of all of us, we might withstand the Asura Ghost's assaults and maintain the barrier for an extended period. As long as your Power of Nirvana doesn't fade, the barrier can be sustained," Di Esi said with intense eyes, looking up at the Asura Ghost in the sky. "Thus, I need you to release your Nirvana Attributes and hand over complete control to me."
To release the Power of Nirvana and let Di Esi control it meant entrusting their lives and fortunes to him.
If Di Esi harbored killing intent toward anyone, he could send them to their death at any moment.
Under normal circumstances, no one would be willing to take such a risk, but in this dire moment, Feng Feitian promptly said, "Di Esi, we trust you. Proceed as you wish."
"Damn it, I'm all in, tell me what to do," Bing Leiya also said.
A group of Nirvana Beings from various races rarely cooperated.
Under the command of Di Esi, everyone began to release their Power of Nirvana, simply letting the Nirvana Particles exude from their bodies without control.
Their bodies were aglow, the light extending and flickering like flames.
Holy Light burst forth from Di Esi, and everyone felt as if their Power of Nirvana was suddenly being pulled by some force and began to soar.
All around, multicolored light ascended, and countless imperceptible particles shot in all directions, arranging themselves in an orderly fashion around them.
In an instant, the numerous particles formed a colorful protective shield, enveloping them all within.
The strength of this shield was the combined power of over a dozen Nirvana Beings. As the Power of Nirvana continued to emanate without end from them, the shield became thicker and its brilliance more intense.
"Why aren't you releasing the Power of Nirvana?" Huang Feiwu noticed Lin Shen standing by her side with no Nirvana Particles being released from him.
Those who had been on high alert all turned their heads towards Lin Shen, indeed finding that he alone bore no ascending glow.
Lin Shen immediately felt frustrated; he wanted to help, but he wasn't a Nirvana Being and had no Power of Nirvana. There was simply no way for him to release his own energy particles.
"He's an Ascender, and he hasn't achieved Nirvana, lacking the ability to externalize energy particles," Di Esi explained for Lin Shen.
The crowd found this somewhat unbelievable; even Bing Leiya was surprised.
"He's an Ascender?" Huang Feiwu looked at Lin Shen incredulously.
It wasn't just her who found it hard to believe—everyone had trouble accepting that the person who had directly confronted an Asura Ghost in battle, blocking every one of its attacks, was merely an Ascender.
If these words hadn't come from Di Esi, even if Lin Shen himself said it, no one would have believed him.
No wonder they were incredulous; even those from the Powerful Cosmic Races had never seen an Ascender with such combat prowess.
Perhaps even Di Esi hadn't possessed such terrifying combat strength when he was at the Ascension Level.
Bing Leiya then remembered that Lin Shen had told her before that he was just an Ascender, but she had not believed him until now and finally accepted that Lin Shen truly was an Ascender.
At such a critical moment, if Lin Shen were a Nirvana Being, it would make no sense for him not to help.
"Let's go..." Di Esi's voice snapped everyone out of their daze.
Now wasn't the time to scrutinize whether Lin Shen was an Ascender or a Nirvana Being—they had to escape first.
Under Di Esi's control, everyone wearing the dazzling protective shield headed toward the Teleportation Array.
All eyes were fixed on the Asura Ghost in the sky; sure enough, as they thought about escaping, the Asura Ghost made its move, slowly lifting the White Jade Blade in its hand. Find adventures on My Virtual Library Empire
A white crescent blade light descended from the sky, directly striking the multicolored protective shield.
