Lin Shen watched Wei Wufu with tension, knowing that with Wei Wufu's ability combined with Old Tie's secret technique, he should not fall into a subhuman state.

However, Wei Wufu had used an Immortal Level God-making Egg, which indeed presented too high a difficulty for an average Ascender to achieve Nirvana with.

Lin Shen thought to himself that mimicking an opponent's Nirvana Attributes seemed pointless for him; his skills were unique, requiring a matching strength to be powerful. Regrettably, even after undergoing the cleansing of lightning, Wei Wufu did not ascend to Immortal as the Golden Colossus had.

This left Lin Shen feeling somewhat disappointed. Had Wei Wufu ascended to Immortal, their journey into the Sea of Blood would have had an assurance of safety.

Wei Wufu attempted to push the doors of the Celestial Court. Lin Shen immediately tensed up; it seemed that no Nirvana Creature who hadn't ascended to Immortal had ever managed to open the doors of the Celestial Court.

If Wei Wufu couldn't open them, then they would have to summon the Jade Emperor to do so.

Surprisingly, with both hands against the great doors of the Celestial Court, Wei Wufu's strength surged forth, and he slowly managed to push the doors open.

Though it looked strenuous, he managed to open a crack in the great doors and swiftly dashed inside.

The doors closed with a thunderous boom, but within, there was no sound of a divine title being bestowed.

Seeing this, Lin Shen also approached the Jade Steps, clutching Little Star.

Little Star, who had been deprived of the ability to hear and speak, was trying desperately to say something, but couldn't even move its lips.

It could only watch with eyes filled with terror as Lin Shen began his ascent of the Jade Steps.

Wei Wufu had effortlessly completed the ascent and even pushed open the doors of the Celestial Court as a Nirvana Being, much to the shock of Little Star.

But Lin Shen's decision to ascend as well stunned Little Star even further.

For Little Star, Lin Shen's ascent of the Jade Steps was to be expected, as it knew he must have done so previously to leave the Secret God Star.

But Lin Shen shouldn't be taking it along up the Jade Steps; when two individuals ascend together, the strength of the Thunderfire doubles—and not just by twice as much.

While it didn't know what methods Lin Shen had used to ascend the Jade Steps before, now with the intensified strength of the Thunderfire, whether he could withstand it was another concern.

If Lin Shen couldn't bear it and was struck dead by the Thunderfire upon the Jade Steps, and Little Star fell onto the steps, unable to move or speak, and also unable to hear, while being bathed daily by the Thunderfire, it would truly be a fate worse than death.
