Summoned to Another World, but as the Final Boss

(8.) Protagonists Secret Friend.

I was panicking inside the moment I saw that the protagonist had not only not left and ran away like I had expected, but also had seen me and what I just did using the Sacred Blade of Hope and the Demonic Blade of Despair. I was horrified - because I was afraid that she would spread the word of seeing a fancily dressed skeleton or something wielding two swords near the Kingdom border in the forest infamous to house a shit ton of monsters.

You could say that I am overeating and that no one would believe the words of a child, but I was better off being safe rather than sorry.

Alis stared at me in slight fear for a moment longer, until suddenly brightening up with admiration and putting on a wide, child like smile onto her face, which confused me like hell.

Alis: "That was so cool mister! Oh— Thank you so much for saving me and my friends!"

She suddenly stated, bowing towards me politely. I wasn't quite sure how to respond though. She was strangely... Calm all of a sudden. She was staring at me with nothing but admiration and even thanked me for stopping and killing the Behemoth that would have turned her and her friends into mashed potatoes had it gotten to them. How was I supposed to respond? Did... Did she not recognise me as the Demon King of Sins...? I mean, I don't expect a child to recognise me, but as far as I understood, they taught children from an early age about the Demon King of Sins and who he was.

Of course, that is when I played this as a game, that was apparently a thing. Did she never get those lessons or something? Did no one tell her who or what was the Demon King of Sins?

I wouldn't actually be all that surprised if no one did teach her that. From the games main story, as far as I understood, her father was quite protective of her. So much so, that he would actively go out of his way to threaten kids who bullied her with his imperial magic, though I'm not sure whether those were just threats or if he ever used it against bullies.

Alis continued to stare at me in admiration and excitement, while I simply stood there and stared back at her in confusion, before turning to face her and then lifting my right hand up to my mouth, placing my index finger infront of it.

"Shhh... You didn't see me here. If anyone asks what happened here or to the Behemoth, say that a passing by adventurer killed it. Okay?"

I stated, tilting my head to the side at the end. Alis looked a bit surprised at first, however brightened into happiness again moments later.

Alis: "Mhm! I won't tell a person about you!"

She stated, before showing a gesture of her zipping up her mouth, locking it and throwing the key away before smiling towards me. Seeing this, I couldn't help but smile back, before approaching her and kneeling down, patting her lightly on her head. The girl looked at me, before laughing lightly and widening her smile. Right now, she reminded me of my little sister who was kinda like her right now.

My interaction with Alis was cut short however, as the sound of running and armour scraping against one another caught my attention. Looks like the other two kids went to the Kingdom and got the help of the guards...

Well, they'll be disappointed to not find a Behemoth here. I quickly rose to my feet, before turning around and walking up to where I had practically disintegrated the Behemoth at. I then Extended my right arm towards the area - sharpening my gaze onto it.

"Replication."

I stated to myself, before red mist began to flow from the ground where the Behemoth had been killed upon, forming into a corpse of the Behemoth, creating a scene of death. In just moments, I managed to create a Behemoth corpse from just the remnants left from my earlier attack using the two swords in possession, which would act as my cover for now. If Alis tells the guards that it was a passing adventurer that killed the Behemoth, a corpse to prove it would make it more trustable.

After creating the Behemoth corpse, I turned to the right side, beginning to leave before Alis quickly ran up to me and grabbed me by my right arms sleeve, catching my attention.

Alis: "Will you come see me again Mister?"

She asked, with slight puppy dog eyes. I simply smiled towards her, before exhaling and nodding in response.

"I'll try."

I responded, before Alis let go of my sleeve, a wide smile on her face. Afterwards, I used the Ring of Teleportation again, teleporting away in an instant, just a couple of brief moments, before the Guards arrived to the scene. Immediately, all of them were shocked by the scene of a Behemoth corpse laying there and an unscathed Alis next to it. The guards rushed to ensure that the little girl was safe, before wrapping her in a blanket and pulling her further away from the Behemoth corpse.

Alis was then set on a tree branch nearby, as more guards with some mages arrived to the scene and began to investigate the Behemoth corpse, looking around the area and at the corpse itself.

Guard #1: "It looks like the Behemoth had a struggle with something before being fatally struck multiple times! Whatever did this was an experienced fighter!"

A guard that was ontop of the Behemoth corpse shouted out to the others. Alis simply watched from the branch she was sitting on as all the guards searched around the area, swinging her legs back and forth. Then, she was approached by a man dressed in deep blue robes, with a lighter blue cape and lighter blue accents ontop of the robes. The man had medium length hair, which was black in colour and his pupils resembled that of shining crystals. He kneeled infront of Alis, catching the girls attention as she looked at the man.

Merlin {Evelias Most Powerful Sorcerer}: "Hello there Young lady. I am Merlin Grandstone and I would like to ask you a couple of questions about what transpired here if you don't mind."

The man introduced himself, before continuing on with his sentence — keeping his tone light, calm and friendly. Alis nodded in response, remaining silent but turning to fully face Merlin.

Merlin: "So then, tell me — Who was the one who defeated this Behemoth?"

Merlin asked the little girl, pointing towards the giant Behemoth corpse which was still being investigated by the guards and mages he had brought with himself. Alis looked towards the corpse, before looking back at Merlin, remember what Avis had told her to say.

"Shhh... You didn't see me here. If anyone asks what happened here or to the Behemoth, say that a passing by adventurer killed it. Okay?"

Alis: "A nice and powerful man came by and saved me before beating the monster. He called himself an adventurer or something.."

Alis replied with a quiet but child like tone.

Merlin: "I see... An Adventurer huh? Interesting. Okay, then tell me another thing - Did you happen to learn this adventurers name?"

He asked, however Alis simply shook her head in response, not saying a single other word. Merlin had a bit of a sour face after seeing her denial, however did not say anything and simply exhaled, smiling again and rising back up to his feet.

Merlin: "We'll get you to your parents soon. For now, just rest. You're safe now."

Merlin stated, before turning to the left and walking away, leaving Alis alone again, as she turned back the way she was facing before and continued to swing her legs back and forth. Merlin approached a heavily armoured man, who was standing a bit off of the Behemoth corpse, examining a tree that had been struck nearby. As soon as Merlin approached, the man in the armour turned his head slightly towards him before getting up to his feet and turning to face the Sorcerer.

Gilgamesh {Captain of the Guards}: "Got any information out of the girl Merlin?"

Merlin: "I did. Apparently the one who killed the Behemoth was an adventurer who appeared out of nowhere or something."

Gilgamesh rose an eyebrow at this statement.

Gilgamesh: "An Adventurer? Really? Did she happen to tell you this adventurers name?"

Merlin shook his head in response, causing Gilgamesh to sigh in slight disappointment, before the two of them looked towards the Behemoth corpse which was still being examined by the other guards and mages that were here.

Gilgamesh: "It's hard to believe that an adventurer would be able to do this... Behemoths are disaster level monsters, capable of levelling whole cities on their own, so I don't trust that an 'Adventurer' managed to kill one."

Merlin: "It may be hard to believe, but it most definitely is not impossible for it to be true. After all, Crystal and Platinum ranked adventurers are most certainly capable of taking down a Behemoth such as this."

Merlin commented to Gilgamesh's statement, before exhaling. Gilgamesh stared at the corpse for a bit longer, before sighing and shaking his head.

Gilgamesh: "Anyways, take a look at this."

He stated, bringing Merlins attention to the tree he had been examining. Merlin looked at the tree, before shedding a slight sweat.

Gilgamesh: "I was examining the surroundings around the Behemoth and found that this tree wasn't damaged by normal magic or something... It was damaged by Demonic Magic."

Gilgamesh stated as Merlin shed a cold sweat.

Merlin: "Is that even possible? The only individuals capable of using Demonic Magic are demons or the Damned..."

Gilgamesh: "Indeed. That is why I don't want to believe that it was an Adventurer that killed the Behemoth. I think that—"

Merlin: "That it was a Demon who killed it, right?"

Merlin cut Gilgamesh off, finishing his sentence for him. Gilgamesh simply nodded lightly in response to Merlins addition.

Gilgamesh: "That or a Damned. Either one is a candidate."

Merlin remained silent after this, simply staring at the Demonic Magic touched tree trunk. It was all corroded and pitch black in colour, like environments usually would become upon Demonic Magic scorching them. If it is true and it wasn't actually an Adventurer that killed this Behemoth but a Demon or a Damned... Then it is possible that some may have infiltrated the territory near Evelia.

After a small bit, Merlin exhaled, slapping his face lightly before looking at Gilgamesh.

Merlin: "We must report this to the King. If it is true and a Demon or a Damned was here, then we may have a crisis slowly coming upon us."

Merlin stated with Gilgamesh nodding lightly in agreement. Afterwards, the two simply turned and walked towards the Behemoth corpse, approaching it to investigate it a bit and get more information, which would hopefully manage to shed some more light upon the situation that REALLY transpired here while they weren't here.

I watched from afar, like — really far away, simply groaning to myself. Seems like the number 1 Sorcerer and the Guard leader is onto me already... Probably should have been more careful with how I used the Demonic Blade of Despairs power...

A Month later. . .

It's been a little over a month since the Behemoth incident. The Kingdom of Evelia has been on high alert ever since, sending out requests for a meeting with the other kingdoms and nations in order to discuss the Behemoth incident and most likely blame me for it, even if I had nothing to do with the Behemoth being there. Sure — I was technically able to control the Behemoths using my powerful taming spells, but I didn't exactly feel like doing so.

Anyways — for the past month, my observation of the Protagonist has been... Well, less an observation, more of hanging out. What do I mean by that? Well, ever since that Behemoth incident, Alis would wander out into the forest all by herself whenever she could and search around, calling out to me which would usually end in me appearing before her. The first time it happened, I had asked her what she was doing in the forest again, only for her to light up in happiness and excitement, before stating that she wanted to hang out with me and what not. At first, I wanted to deny and just tell her to head home, however she would always use her dreaded puppy eyes on me, which caused my still human 'heart' to give up and submit to her will, hanging out and talking with her for the last month.

During this, I managed to learn quite a lot about her at this time. She was so willing to share what she was up to and what was going on with her life with her parents and friends that I honestly couldn't help but listen on and on until the sun began to slowly set and she'd have to go back home. This also eventually began to get Emily's attention, as she began to ask me questions on where I was going and what not.

However, Emily wasn't much of a problem, as I would always tell her that I was simply heading out to test some things, which wasn't always a lie. Sometimes when I came to meet up with Alis, before she got here to our usual meeting spot, which was a more open area of the forest, with a giant boulder in it on which we would sit, I would usually kill off all the monsters around — killing them by using some experimental spells I had been creating in my freetime while studying in the library.

Even if I already knew every spell which was part of the game, I felt like if I wanted to avoid any and all chances of the foul ending that would happen by the end of the story, then I would need more than just the original game spells.

So I've just been crafting spells in my freetime.

....Yeah I am getting bored from the routine life.

Anyways, I was back to my and Alis' usual meet up spot, sitting on the boulder and waiting for Alis to come. This was always the most boring part honestly, waiting for that girl to show up. I had nothing to do while I waited, so I would usually just think of things I would tell her about while also just fidgeting. Oh and also, I change my clothes everytime I come to here — I change into clothing which was a lot less royal and screamed Demon King and more like I was a subordinate of some kind of king or something.

My current attire consisted of something similar to a traditional english detective or something, since I loved the original Sherlock Holmes story back in my 'old' life. I actually loved it so much, I made this outfit after the Holmes one, with some personal tweaks of course. It overall was a comfortable and great looking attire if I had to say so myself.

Alis: "Sorry to make you wait Mister!"

A sudden child voice called out to me, as Alis ran out from the trees and bushes, carrying with her a small basked with a handkerchief or something over its contents. I exhaled, simply leaning back a bit.

"It is fine Miss Alis. I wasn't waiting for that long anyway."

I replied, as Alis ran up to the boulder, breathing heavily and panting, before pushing the basket onto the boulder and then climbing onto it herself, sitting down next to me, looking up at me and smiling widely. I smiled back at her, before looking down at the basket she had brought and pointing at it.

"And what did you bring?"

Alis: "Ah! It's some cookies mama made. I thought I would bring them and share them with you."

She stated, taking off the handkerchief covering the baskets top and revealing a small pile of light brown cookies shaped like bear paws inside. They looked borderline adorable if you ask me. I simply exhaled before reaching down for one.

"Well, thank you then."

I stated picking up one cookie and bringing it up to my face, bitting it off and quickly chewing it before swallowing. They were... Very, very sweet and yet also a bit bitter. They had this hard exoskeleton but then a soft inside. Very unique I have to say. Oh and before you ask on how I am able to eat or swallow as a skeleton, all the food or drinks I eat or drink are automatically converted into magic I can use. And yes, I am able to taste flavours thanks to magic as well. That's really that.

Alis smiled happily towards me, before also picking up a cookie and eating away at it. We simply sat on the boulder for a while, talking about all sorts of things while enjoying the cookies that Alis had brought with her. Eventually, before we knew it, the sun was slowly beginning to set and the basket of cookies was empty. Me and Alis simply stared off towards the setting sun, watching it together while sitting on the boulder in silence. Then, Alis turned to face me and tucked lightly onto my sleeve, dragging my attention towards her.

"Hm?"

Alis: "I wanted to ask Mister... You never told me your name. We've been hanging out for a long time, but you never ever told me your name - why?"

She asked, her expression a bit sad. This was the one question I was hoping she wouldn't ask. I really don't know whether she was taught who Avis Virtiosa was or not, so I was super hesitant about telling her that my name is Avis Virtiosa, the same as the Demon King of Sins which by now is the number 1 enemy of the Human Kingdom of Evelia, considering that the Demon King of Sins was responsible for the fall of Inara.

I thought about what to answer Alis for a bit, before exhaling and picking her up by her hips, before placing her on my left leg to sit, patting her head lightly.

"You want to know my name?"

I asked lightly, looking down at her. Alis looked at me, smiling widely before nodding in agreement.

Alis: "Yes, I do!"

"...Then, I must ask you to not tell anyone my name noir that you know an individual named like me. Alright? Can you keep that our little secret?"

Alis: "Of course I can! Pinkie promise!"

She stated, extending her left arm towards me, with her pinkie finger. I was a bit confused at first, however simply extending my right arm back towards her and locking my pinkie with hers.

"Pinkie promise."

I replied back before letting go. Afterwards, I looked off back towards the setting sun. Silence took place once more, before eventually I broke it with a slight exhale.

"Valor. You can call me Valor."

I stated, looking at Alis who looked at me with a gaze of admiration. She repeated my name to herself a couple of times before smiling and chuckling lightly. Seems like a simple thing such as learning my name really made her happy... It was rather beautiful I have to say.

It was still hard to believe, that unless I change it, she would be the one to strike me down one day, in just 11 years. That seems like a long time away, however seeing as 6 years flew by so fast, I guarantee that these next 11 years will fly by even faster. Me and Alis continued to watch the sunset for a little while longer, before eventually Alis hopped off my leg and said her farewell, before running back to the Kingdom. I watched her run away, as a gentle wind blew towards me. I exhaled a bit heavily, before looking back at the setting sun for a bit longer.

It was so peaceful... So beautiful.

If it hadn't been for the fact that I was brought into this world as the Final Boss of this story, then perhaps I wouldn't be so careful or alarmed all the time. Perhaps I would be able to be more free... More careless.

......You know, I never appreciated a sun set before. But seeing it now — it was strangely calming. It was strangely.... Gorgeous.
