Summoned to Another World, but as the Final Boss

(16.) Demon King makes a Friend.

Headmaster: "Welcome everyone to the Evelias Magic Institutes opening ceremony for a new year of learning!"

As soon as the Headmaster announced the beginning of the opening ceremony, the present crowd of students began to applaud loudly, with a few even cheering on, like they were at some kind of football event or something. After the applause of the students subsided, the Headmaster continued her speech.

Headmaster: "For starters, my name is Alexia Kopolia and I am the Headmaster of this institute, as many of you already know."

She began the whole speech she was going to do today by first introducing herself to the students as well as reintroducing herself to those students that were returning to the academy to continue their studies. A much smaller round of applause soared through the crowd, before subsiding much, much faster than the first round of applause when the first announcement was said.

Headmaster Alexia: "Now then - with my personal introduction out of the way, we can move onto the next set of announcements. For starters - I would like to welcome all new students to our institute, whether they made it in here through their skill, status or some other way, it doesn't matter - I welcome all of you to our school and look forward to seeing your future exploits at Evelias Magic Institute."

She continued speaking loudly and her voice being very clear. It was almost like she had a whole speaker inside her body for a voice box. It was honestly rather impressive to talk as loud as she did without starting to straight up shout or scream what she wanted to say. The students present listened on very carefully — well, all except me. Having beaten the games main story before quite a few times, I have already heard this entire speech so many times that honestly, I would actually die of boredom if I listened on again.

The Headmaster continued on to speak her long, long speech infront of all the students, talking about the differences this school year as well as calling out the student council president out onto the stage to give a speech of his own infront of the students. However, once again — it was shit I had heard before, nothing new to see.... Or I guess 'hear' here my friends. Just stuff that I have heard already an unimaginable amount of times. The Opening ceremony kept on going for a little while, with a couple more announcements, the introduction of the new teachers — which included Dvirt, who had taken on a pretty standard disguise for himself, with it being just a male disguise with short black hair and a mask which covered half of his face.

...Okay, not so standard with the mask covering half of his face, but that mask was there for a reason.

Mainly, to cover up Dvirts half burnt face, which no disguise could hide. Yeah, under his armour, half of Dvirts face — more specifically the right half of his face, was completely scorched and looked pretty ugly. This was the one of the main reasons he wore his armour in the first place actually. How did he get that scorch across his face?

In a battle. That simple.

If you want any further details, Dvirt is going to need to explain them himself, because I frankly do not care about it enough right now to explain it. The opening ceremony lasted another hour or two, before eventually the Headmaster walked back out infront of the crowd and finished off the ceremony with one last announcement.

Headmaster Alexia: "Now, for the closure of the ceremony I would like to state that yes — our institute this year is housing a very special student. One who is a member of a secret Noble family that has been staying out of the public knowledge of the Evelia Kingdom to the point where even our own royal family had forgotten about them. The noble family decided to allow their only son to come and join our school year this year, with a vouch from the Dragon-born King himself, which earned the boy a scholarship at this institute. Now, I will not name the boy as to allow him to have a normal learning year, however I do ask from you all to treat him the same as everyone else at this institute — treat him with respect and kindness."

Alexia announced loudly, clearly talking about me and my fake backstory I made up. If you're curious on how the Evelias royal family didn't realise that it was all bogus, that would be my doing again. I instructed Kaila to infiltrate the Evelia Castle disguised as a maid in order to one - place forged records of the alleged noble family that has been remaining in secret this whole time and two - to implant fake memories in the mind of the King and Queen about this noble family, since that was her expertise. Luckily, they didn't notice any of this and fell for it — with the King and Queen being none the wiser that everything surrounding this Secret Noble family was random bullshit I made up on the spot and spread fake rumours and evidence of. And don't worry — If the King ever requests the noble family to come meet him, I have already given orders to Landala and Hullowa to disguise themselves as my alleged 'parents' and go meet with the King, if he requests so.

Yeah, I got the WHOLE THING planned out to the most minor of details. This whole fake Secret Noble family is basically water tight truth, with no way for anyone to figure out that it is all completely forged. After Alexias announcement surrounding my fake noble family, she finished off the ceremony with one final goodbye, wishing all the students a great and a fruitful year of studies, with the students giving one last round of applause to her before the doors to the Assembly Hall were opened and the students began to leave, like a tsunami wave. The girl next to me also was about to get up and leave, however I stopped her and gestured her to sit back down.

"Wait for them all to leave. That way, you won't be mixed in the huge crowd."

I stated with a friendly smile across my face. The girl looked at me shyly, not quite understanding what I had just done however did not say anything in protest. She just sat back down and waited together with me in our seats until most of the other students had left. Eventually, no other students were in the assembly hall, with thr final few leaving the hall right before us. Exhaling, I gestured to the girl to get up before also getting up from my seat.

"Come on — let's move now."

Shy Girl: "O-Okay..."

She replied quietly before getting up and following me from right behind as the two of us left the Assembly Hall — being the last two students to do. Outside the assembly hall, the school halls were filled with students, all talking among themselves and laughing as well. Now was sort of some down time, as everyone needed to wait until the class meetings with their Headroom Teachers began, which was around 5 minutes from now. I was placed in Class 7D — yes, 7. The students here weren't exactly placed in classes based on which grade they were or something. No, you could be a student in any of the classes — from Class 1A all the way to Class 30Z. Yup.

That many classes. This school was huge, what else could I honestly tell you all?

As soon as we made it out of the assembly hall, the girl had practically vanished into thin air, disappearing from my side and most likely blending in somewhere in the rather crowded hall of students. I exhaled lightly — I would be able to find her a little later. No point in sticking with her right now anyway considering that she was in Class 7E which wasn't the same as me. So.... Off to my own class, which if I remember correctly was on the third floor. And so, I moved on through the hall, pushing through the crowd of students lightly, as time slowly ticked away.

After reaching the class I was assigned in, I and all of my new classmates got to meet our Headroom teacher — Mr. Hedlestone. He was a reoccurring character in the games main story, being the headroom teacher of the protagonist. Which yes, meant that I was in the same class as Alis and her two friends. And yes — I had rigged it to be this way, with the scholarship specifically requesting for me to be placed in Class 7D. I'm telling you, I have this entire thing planned out to ensure a smooth entry into the school and then a smooth school year without much complication. After all, I had to make sure I prevented as many events that usually led to the final battle between the protagonist and the final boss before then leading to my death. And what better way to prevent it all than to be in the same class as the main target for the entire main story, which would allow me to observe and follow her to prevent all events that needed to be prevented.

After getting introduced to the Headroom teacher, we were given our lesson list for the entire year before being given our dorm room numbers and keys to them. The protagonist and her friend Karla both got dorm room number 020 — which was also part of the girl dorm section. Meanwhile I was placed in the same dorm as—

?: "So, you and I are in one dorm? Sweet!"

A sudden male voice spoke, before a pretty fit looking boy walked up to me and placed his left arm around my neck, smiling away as he did. Yeah... So this boy with the short white hair and blue eyes was Felix Fritz — and he was sort of the classes buff guy. In the games main story, he wasn't one of the conquerable routes of the game, instead, he was a supporting character who would help occasionally through the game, mainly via using his pretty immense physical strength that he possessed.

I laughed lightly, before taking a hold of his left arm and pushing it off of my neck.

"I suppose we will be in one dorm... I do ask you to go easy on me."

Felix: "Hm? Hahahha! Don't worry, I won't kill you or anything! You and I are both fit men, I think we'll get along just fine!"

He laughed afterwards before placing his left arm onto my right shoulder. Yeah... I don't know where he got the fact that I was 'fit' from, but I don't know whether I will be able to get along with this guy much... He seemed like a lot to handle. Felix hung around my side for a small while longer, until the Headroom teacher excused us all and told us that we were free to go our ways now. With this, Felix said a goodbye to me before leaving the classroom, shouting that he would meet me in the dorm room with a wide smile across his face. I simply waved a light goodbye to him, shedding a sweat.

Afterwards, I exhaled lightly before throwing a look over to Alis, Karla and Kris. All three of them were talking among themselves right now and seemed to be laughing together as well. While I wanted to get familiar with Alis in this human form as well in order to ensure I can be as close to her as possible, I don't think that will be possible today. Maybe I'll try to approach her another day. Exhaling again, I got up from my seat before taking my bag and throwing it over my left shoulder again, before leaving the classroom.

Alis meanwhile threw a gaze over at the door as soon as Avis had left, her expression a bit concerned and almost scared.

Outside the class, I moved through the hall and towards the backyard of the school. There were two reasons for coming here specifically — first reason was that the backyard was the only way to get to the boys side of the dorms at the institute. Yeah, for some reason to get to girls side you had to go through the institutes main entrance, but to get to the boys side, you had to go through the back entrance. Don't ask me. However, the second reason for going here was a lot simpler — I wanted to meet up with someone I knew would be here.

Moving through the small garden of flowers, bushes and trees, I looked around — keeping a detection spell active inside my eyes at all times while looking, until eventually I spotted my target. The same girl that I had sat next to during the opening ceremony in the assembly hall — Daniela Kartfort. And just like I had predicted, she was crouched over at a bush of roses, smiling away while petting a wild rabbit that had entered the school territory... Somehow. Honestly, it was never explained how these wild animals got into the school territory, so I never really questioned it. Exhaling lightly, I took in a light breath before slowly approaching the girl as she seemingly talked to the rabbit.

Daniela: "Where are your friends little rabbit? Are you all alone here?.... Guess that makes us similar."

She stated to herself, smiling lightly to herself while her voice was equally as quiet and soft. As I slowly approached from behind, the rabbit seemingly reacted to my approach — looking at me and lightly jumping up in fear before running off into the rose bushes, with Daniela exhaling in confusion.

"Oh — my bad.... I think I scared him."

I stated lightly, causing Daniela to look behind her at me, before immediately putting on a shy expression and looking away.

Daniela: "I-It's fine..."

She said with an even quieter and softer voice, clearly not very excited to meet another student. I chuckled lightly, rubbing the back of my head, before crouching down next to her and placing my bag down onto the ground next to myself. Afterwards, I extended my right hand out towards the rose bush, sharpening my gaze lightly. Daniela looked at me a bit confused, before looking at the rose bush, as the same rabbit slowly poked its head slightly out of the bush and sniffed my hand, before hopping closer and rubbing its head against my arm lightly, making some pretty cute squeaks and squeals.

Daniela gasped lightly, while I simply smiled and petted the rabbit lightly.

"I've always like animals like rabbits. However, I have never been able to keep one as a pet or even interact much with them — mainly because my parents were super protective of me."

I stated lightly and rather quietly, keeping my voice as calm and soft as possible, as to not scare away the rabbit or startle Daniela, knowing how easy it was to also scare her away. Daniela listened to me speak lightly, while watching the rabbit at my hand with admiration, before reaching her right arm down to the rabbit and also petting the small feeble animal softly. A moment of silence took place between us, as me and Daniela lightly petted the small rabbit, with the rabbit continuing to squeak and squeal lightly.

Then, our moment of silence was broken, as a group of boys walked past us from behind, laughing among themselves before stopping and looking at us, whispering something among themselves while laughing. I already knew what was going to come next and simply kept an unimpressed and serious expression, while throwing my gaze at them.

First Year Boy: "Hey, Weirdo! Still talking to animals and flowers? Oh wait — of course you are!"

One of the boys shouted laughing together with his friends, while Daniela shook lightly, looking like she wanted to cry lightly. Personally, that entire sentence seemed completely stupid to me and a bit cheezy, considering that apparently that group of boys has known Daniela since this worlds equivalent to a kindergarten. The boys continued to yell some completely cheezy and stupid remarks, causing Daniela to pull her arm slightly back from the rabbit, confusing the small animal lightly. Exhaling lightly, I got up before turning to look at the boys. Then I lifted my right arm up, with my index finger lifted as well.

The boys looked at me confused, before laughing again.

First Year Boy: "Oh sorry — didn't know that the son of a noble family liked to hang out with weir—"

Before he could finish his sentence, I whipped my index finger around, causing his and all his friends mouths to suddenly be shut closed — almost like their lips were glued shut. The boys began to panic lightly, before all running off towards the academy, with Daniela looking them confused, while I laughed lightly. Afterwards, I crouched back down next to her, before continuing to pet the rabbit.

"Don't mind them — they're just miserable brats, that's all."

I stated to Daniela, causing her to look at me with a slightly confused and dumbfounded gaze. I kept a small and warm smile on my face, before looking at her and widening my smile into a friendly one. Without a single other word being said from me, Daniela looked down at the ground, looking like she wanted to cry however instead, the girl lightly smiled before reaching her right hand back out to the rabbit, continuing to pet it lightly together with me. Me and Daniela remained like this for a little bit, with me occasionally striking up small talk with her — trying to make myself appear as friendly as possible, even if she didn't reply to me almost at all.

Although, even if she didn't reply to me in words, based on her expressions and smiles alone I was able to tell that she was happy during the whole 'interaction' keeping a warm and wide smile across her face. Then, eventually the sun began to set, which was my cue to continue my way to the dorm. So I let go of the rabbit, before getting up and picking up my bag and looking at Daniela, extending my right arm out towards her.

"Let's hang out sometime, alright?"

I stated, smiling lightly. Daniela looked up at me before looking down at my hand. Then, after a bit of hesitation, she shook my hand lightly, before letting go of it. After that, I waved her a goodbye before leaving towards the Boys Dorms, leaving Daniela at the rabbit alone again. She watched me leave lightly, her eyes slightly sparkling, before she smiled warmly and looked down at the rabbit, continuing to pet it lightly.
