"Alessandro, brother, you're back," spoke Jason as he stepped off the last stair.

Alessandro didn't waste a second—he pulled Jason into a crushing hug, lifting him slightly off the ground.

"HAHAHA! YOU'VE GROWN BIG, JASON!" he boomed, clapping Jason hard on the shoulders. "And from what I've heard… strong too."

Jason gave a small smile, brushing off the dust on his shirt. "Well… that's relative. I guess I am stronger now."

"Nah, don't sell yourself short," Alessandro said, his tone suddenly firmer, full of that Anderson pride. "You're an Anderson. Hold yourself high—we rule wherever we go."

Jason gave a nod. "Sure. I guess you're right."

"Anyways, let's get going. The meeting should start soon," Alessandro said as he turned to walk.

Jason raised an eyebrow. "Meeting?"

"Ohhh… I guess they haven't told you yet," Alessandro replied with a grin. "Father called for a family meeting. Something about the new expansion in Gotham..."

Jason's eyes narrowed slightly. "I see. So everyone's gonna be there?"

"Most likely, yeah… Even Sophia."

Jason didn't respond at first. Just the faintest smirk.'Guess today's just full of surprises.'

...

The grand table in the Anderson estate's main chamber was surrounded by the family—each seated in their usual place, the air thick with the smell of expensive cologne, aged cigars, and quiet tension.

Dominic Anderson, sharp in a dark suit, stood at the head. His gaze swept the room, proud, calculating.

"With Black Mask out of the picture," he began, his tone composed but firm, "Gotham is fractured. Everyone's scrambling for territory. That's our cue—we're moving in."

A quiet murmur rippled across the table.

Marco, crisp in a three-piece suit, fingers laced in front of him, leaned forward. "We've already begun planning the legal framework. Shell companies, real estate grabs, lobbying ties—everything clean. Gotham's infrastructure is broken. We'll help fix it… for a price."

Alessandro scoffed, legs kicked up onto the edge of the table. "And yet you went into the snake's den without me, Father. I told you how that meeting would end."

Dominic gave a low chuckle, eyes sharp. "And it ended exactly how I wanted."

Sofia's voice cut through next, colder than usual. "You almost got yourself killed. Worse—you almost got Jason killed." Her eyes narrowed. "He's still young."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "Thanks for the concern, really. But you don't need to worry about me. I'm stronger than you think."

"That doesn't matter," Valentina interjected, arms crossed, her voice protective. "You're still our baby brother. Still young. You're not invincible."

Marco nodded. "She's right. We can't afford unnecessary risks. You need more training."

Dominic let out a hearty laugh, waving a dismissive hand. "He can handle himself better than all of you combined."

Jason smirked. "Appreciate the backup, old man."

Alessandro leaned forward, serious now. "I love you, Jase. But don't let that strength make you arrogant."

But Dominic remained steady. "I've seen what he can do. I trust him with a battlefield. Now it's time to teach him business."

Marco blinked. "Wait… what do you mean?"

Jason stood slowly, stepping into the light as his nails sharpened, and dark markings appeared beneath his eyes. The faint, cursed aura hummed around him.

"I mean," he said with a quiet grin, "I'm kinda strong now. Not a metahuman, but close. Something else entirely."

Alessandro whistled low. "Well, well, well… My little brother's a superhero now."

"More like a villain," Sofia muttered. "We kill people, don't we?"

Alessandro snorted. "You're such a softy. Why are you even here? You don't deal with any of the real family business."

Sofia shot him a glare. "I'm here to check on my non-suicidal brother." She looked at Jason. "Still applies… barely."

Jason smiled. "I appreciate the concern. Really. But I'm not stopping. This is who I am now."

She sighed, softening. "Then at least be careful. Even heroes die."

Jason nodded once. Then he turned back to Dominic, eyes sharp.

"So… what's our next move?"

The tension in the room had mellowed, but the fire of ambition still simmered in the air as Dominic leaned over the table, pulling out a rolled-up map of Gotham. With a flick, he spread it flat across the table—various zones marked in red, blue, and black.

"Now listen carefully," Dominic began, voice low and commanding. "With Sionis gone, the vacuum begins… but that doesn't mean the city's up for grabs just yet. Here's how it stands:

Penguin controls the Iceberg Lounge and the Docks.

Two-Face rules the Narrows.

Scarecrow's been playing around near Robinson Park.

Ivy's got the Botanical District, no surprise.

Bane's been sighted near the southern outskirts—probably setting up a smuggling route.

And Riddler? That son of a bitch thinks Gotham University belongs to him now."

He pointed to a large swath of territory marked in red. "This—this was Sionis's turf. Now it's ours."

Jason leaned forward, eyes locked on the map. "I could take some of them now," he said calmly, "a few of them aren't even that strong—"

"No," Dominic cut him off sharply. "It's too early."

Alessandro nodded, arms crossed. "Father's right. You move too fast, you get all of them on your ass at once."

Jason frowned. "Why would they team up?"

Marco leaned in. "Because fear unites the weak. You take too much ground too fast, they'll feel cornered. Cornered dogs bite. And in Gotham… some of them bite hard."

Jason exhaled through his nose, then grinned. "Fine. So we take Sionis's turf, and leave the rest to stew."

"Exactly," Dominic said. "We fill the vacuum. Quietly. Cleanly. Our fronts take over his businesses. We buy out his contacts. We absorb the foot soldiers who're desperate, and we eliminate the ones who resist."

Valentina let out a dramatic sigh, bored. "And what about me…?" she muttered under her breath.

Jason turned to her, raising an eyebrow. What did she mean by that? She wasn't… strong. Was she?

Dominic didn't hesitate. "Your squad's already been briefed. The assassination team moves tonight—any resistance that doesn't respond to our offer… is removed."

Jason's eyes widened slightly, brows rising. "Wait… assassination squad?"

Marco chuckled. "Don't look so surprised."

Dominic gestured casually toward Valentina. "Your sister leads the Assassins. A full female squad. Lethal. Silent. Loyal."

Jason blinked. Val?

"You think I spent all those late nights baking cookies?" she smirked.

Dominic continued. "Marco's in charge of our legal empire and runs the Anderson Private Military division. Completely blackbook—soldiers for hire, fully equipped."

Jason looked to Marco. He always did dress a little too clean for blood work.

"And Alessandro," Dominic nodded at the grinning older brother, "controls the streets. Anderson Mafia. Protection, gambling, influence. He holds the underworld leash."

"Damn right I do," Alessandro winked.

"And Sophia?" Jason asked, looking at the quiet figure near the edge of the room.

"She doesn't get her hands dirty," Dominic said, "but the lab? The weapons? The enhancements? She runs that."

Sofia rolled her eyes. "I build, I test, I don't kill. I'm here because of you," she added, glaring at Jason.

Jason sat back, the pieces fitting together. His mind sparked, and an idea began to form—a dangerous, brilliant idea. He looked up at his father.

"Father… I want my own squad."

Everyone went quiet.

Dominic tilted his head slightly. "Oh? That so?"

"I want something I control," Jason continued, voice calm but resolute. "Something special."

A pause.

"And what would this squad be about?" Dominic asked, intrigued.

Jason leaned forward, a devilish grin creeping across his face. "The Cursed Ones. A group of metahumans… people with special abilities. Broken, chaotic, dangerous. The kind you can't control."

He placed his hand on the table slowly. "But me? I will control them."

A silence settled in the room as they took in his words.

Dominic's eyes narrowed.

Alessandro sat back with a raised brow.

Marco folded his hands, curious.

Valentina smirked.

Sophia looked mildly worried.

And Jason… Jason simply smiled.
