Chapter 33: Chapter 27: Treasure
"You're Rachel, right?" Mina asked, her eyes fixed on the child.
Rachel nodded, her gaze dropping to the ground. "I should have been there for you. But I was scared," she murmured, her voice barely audible.
Mina's lips curved into a small, sad smile. "You always were," she said, rising to her feet. "But please, don't worry. I just want to leave this all behind."
"Then do you want to leave with me, Mina?" Vivian extended her hand towards Mina, her eyes hopeful.
Mina took Vivian's hand, her grip firm and resolute. "Yes, I do. I don't want to see this place ever again."
Vivian's voice trembled as she asked, "So is everyone else dead? Even your father?"
Mina's expression hardened. "Yes. Everyone inside that facility is dead."
Vivian pulled both girls into a tight embrace. "Then let's go. I have a lot to teach you as a succubus. From now on, I'm your mother."

"I wanna eat!" Mina's voice rang out enthusiastically as she leapt from her bedroll and bounded out of the tent.
Outside, a neatly arranged camp came into view. A warm fire illuminated the night, casting flickering shadows around the four boars roasting over the flames. Five plates were arranged around the fire.
"Mina," Ben called, "since you've gotten some of your memories back, can you now explain what happened to make you this weak?"
Mina sat down, her brow furrowed in concentration. "I don't remember much," she began slowly, "but I remember being in a city on a mission. It was attacked by cultivators, and I had to fight them on my own. That's when I lost my memories."
Her eyes darkened with the memory. "In my dream, I was on a mission, staying at a brothel to gather energy and information. Suddenly, screams filled the air, and the smell of blood permeated everything. I rushed outside and saw cultivators slaughtering people. It made me so angry."
"Why are you doing this?!" she had screamed, glaring at the cultivator through her veil.
The disciple's response was cold and indifferent. "These bastards refused to pay their taxes. Isn't it better to kill them? They're useless mortals if they can't pay up!"
Mina's heart had pounded with rage. "But they needed more time! You ask too much from this city!"
The disciple sneered. "That's not the only reason. These bastards were hiding a heavenly treasure here."
Mina's lips had tightened into a thin line. She had come for that treasure too—a treasure belonging to a succubus like herself.
She wanted to help, but before she could, a bright light flashed from the sky, incinerating the entire city in an instant. Mina's shield saved her, but she stood amidst the ruins, trembling with uncontrollable rage and hatred. Why did they have to do this? Why did they have to kill people? She wondered.
"You heartless bastards!" Mina screamed, spotting some cultivators in the distance, turning bodies to ash.
They didn't care about the treasure but rather were using the people's bodies for something else! she realized, as it was clear as day to see that they were up to something by gathering the people's bodies and storing them in strange containers.
"How dare you raise your voice at a disciple of the Water Moon Sect?!" the man she had been yelling at roared, charging at her with his qi-infused sword.
"So you're all from the Water Moon Sect. Then I'll have no regrets slaughtering every last one of you!" Mina's voice dripped with hatred as she withdrew Kagura from her body, slashing the man into pieces and drawing the attention of the other cultivators around her.

Back at the camp, Ben smiled warmly. "Well, it's just good that you're safe now."
"I could have saved those people but I promised my master that I won't use my powers recklessly anymore. I need that treasure but I guess I'll never get it now. I hate cruelty against innocent people. But I guess its kind of hypocritical since I'm an Assassin." Mina stated staring at her shaking palms, but her face flushed as Ben leaned in close. "Eh, Ben, aren't you too close?"
"Please, can I stay like this?" he asked gently, his voice soft. Mina couldn't refuse. "Alright."
"He's hogging her for himself!" Hyun huffed, crossing his arms.
"Agreed," Kai pouted, nodding.
"You two both had your chances, same for that vampire boy!" Ben shot back, pointing at them before settling his head on Mina's thighs.
"The name is Reoul," he snapped, glaring at Ben.
"Stop fighting!" Mina laughed, playfully pinching Ben's cheek.
"Alright," Ben conceded, wrapping his arms around her waist while still lying on her thighs. "Don't let that worry you too much alright? It's not your fault that those people died. And you even disobeyed master's orders leading to you having side effects of your power. Never let us worry about you like this. Always cherish your life alright?"
"I will," Mina answered with a smile.
"So, which sect is everyone going to?" Hyun asked, trying to change the subject.
